Amazing weekend retreat

Perfect quiet getaway. Serenity of Oceanside, while just a quick ride into Portland for top notch dining and shopping. Stayed in the cove suites and loved every minute. Beautiful updated decor with all the amenities we needed.

Luxurious stay

Second time staying at Inn By The Sea. This time we brought our dog which was a wonderful experience! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure our stay was absolutely Grand!!
Our Cove suite was absolutely fabulous and had all the amenities we wanted… Fireplace, luxurious beds, great living room and kitchen with a dining room table to play scrabble and make a jigsaw puzzle????
While we were checking out we made another reservation to check back in, in January????
We are so looking forward to staying again for another five days????
Thank you Inn By The Sea!

Disappointment, at a minimum, by the sea

I had wanted to go to Inn by the Sea for YEARS. My husband had a business trip to Portland, ME So we decided to spend 3 nights at the Inn - prepaid. When we checked in as iPrefer members, the reservations clerk, Alex, checked us into a “basement” aka First Floor room (no elevator) which had the pervasive and distinct odor of tobacco. Alex wasn’t surprised when we complained. He put us in another “first floor” room (no elevator). Shortly before, I overheard Alex tell another guest that his room on the second floor was nearly ready.
In room # 2, there was no electricity; no heat. Other rooms had power. Room #3, same. At that point it was late and I told Alex that we expected full credit for the stay and he immediately agreed (the only positive part of the trip). We obviously checked out and left early the next morning after spending the night with no heat or hot water.
I was sooooo disappointed and shocked, although I think they could have put us in an upstairs room. The hotel was not full.
I can’t recommend this hotel other than to say it is on a beautiful beach, but even that doesn’t justify the prices or our experience there. Too bad, really.
