Overall Very Good

Difficult review to write in view of all the other glowing reviews. We agree wholeheartedly with most of them.
This hotel is beautiful, set in beautiful gardens and a little oasis away from the bustle of Funchal. Our main issue and the reason for not awarding 5 was the room we were allocated. We had a premium room, number 306. The actual room itself was beautiful, was extremely clean and very quiet. However we had a large tree directly outside our balcony on the first floor. We couldn't actually see very much of the gardens at all. I would hate for them to have to remove the tree but for us we felt very claustrophobic. The other things we didn't like were the shutters which could be moved as the sun moved but which always cut out a significant amount of the view again making the balcony feel very enclosed. Finally the furniture provided was a very comfortable chair, small table and a double sun bed. Nice to relax on an afternoon but not very convenient when we both wanted to have a cup of tea or a final drink on an evening.
The staff were very nice really professional and nothing was too much trouble.
I hate to be even slightly negative about this hotel as we did have a lovely holiday overall but the balcony issue for us was significant.

Another stay in paradise

We have just returned home from another 2 week stay at the best hotel in our opinion in Funchal. Set in the most beautiful gardens with surrounding views of the mountains makes this the ideal hotel to relax in. The service this year has gone to the next level and it was great before, The staff cannot do enough to make your stay an experience to remember, Impossible to pick out any one member of staff as they all go above and beyond which is why so many guests return year after year and some like us book for next year before we leave!

An Oasis in Madeira!
Susan G

My husband and I visited the beautiful island of Madeira. We had the pleasure to stay at The Quinta da Casa Branca! Not sure where to begin, but we cannot say enough good things about this small luxury hotel. The location in Funchal makes it very convenient to restaurants and shopping. We made several day trips to visit other parts of the island. Our drive was never over an hour or two to view the spectacular sights and scenery of the island. Mountains, the ocean and incredible sights such as lava pools and old folk houses were all within driving distance. However, we were quite happy to return every night to this lush property. Banana trees, fruit trees and beautiful tropical flowers grace the property! Another plus is the delightful food served at the hotel. A bountiful breakfast was served in the mornings. A true delight was to eat dinner at the the Manor House dining room. We enjoyed great tasting meals and wine served on the outside terrace. Absolute perfection! We stayed in the gorgeous pool villa which was quite spacious! Service was top notch! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Madeira!
