How to Get There
Such a fun place for a weekend getaway with hiking and lots of restaurants nearby. Love the retro vibe of the hotel too! The two restaurants onsite are both sooo good and a discount coupon of 10% is given to you at check-in. We can't wait to go back.
Staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurants was also very good. The night club was hopping and lots of fun. The casino and horse track are less than a mile away and the hotel provided free shuttles. Very animal friendly with lots of places to walk our dog! We will go back!
Plenty to do on the weekends here, 2 rooms playing live music. another area with a seperate bar/ eating.
rooms are good. Had the streamside room. A bit of a hike if you didnt / couldnt park up front.
There was a day when this place was spectacular. It is showing its age. the grounds are under improvement. Has a nice outdoor area.
Has dinner at Shogun, great show, plenty of saki. drinks downstairs with a live band
This hotel has been around for a while and it shows it’s age. The rooms are decorated nicely but some things need updating. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurants are very good and the free breakfast is a nice plus but not offered on the weekends. The most disappointing thing about The Woodlands is the large hot tub and the pool. During our most recent stay in March 2019 the hot tub was closed for repair which it seems to be very often. The pool is usually ok but this trip the water was very cloudy. The bottom of the pool seems to be crumbling and is in bad need of repair. We stay at The Woodlands at least several times a month but will not continue if the amenities are in bad repair or not working at all. Oh yeah don’t stay in a room close to the night club if you want to sleep. Very very loud.
I stayed in a room with a King bed in the main building. If you stay in the Tower there is only one small elevator so ask for a room on the lower floors. The hotel overall is very clean. Room fixtures are very good. It is still being updated. The internet is screaming fast, the TV in the room is old by today's standard of flat screen TV's. The property is large and you will do a good bit of walking if you are there for a conference. The conference rooms are on the other side of the hotel from where the rooms are. The Shogun restaurant was very good and they have 2 hibachi grills. There is a casino shuttle if you are interested, the casino is only 5 mins away. Overall I would definitely stay here again.
