How to Get There
Wanted to stay here before heading to NYC. Nice large rooms. Shower was the best. Loved all the selections available for dinner in the Casino. Had a great meal in the Irish Pub. The slot machines didn't pay off very much but when do they ever.
Our check in was very quick and easy. John Beppler was very helpful and accomodating. Very professional. Thank you John.
My first visit to the Mohegan Sun Pocono's and it was surprisingly relaxing. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was immediately greeting by the head of valet. Very friendly, helped me directions to the correct parking area for hotel guest if you didn't want to us the valet service (which is free). Greeted by a front desk staff, quick simple checking with directions to the elevators. Beautifully decorated room, smelled very fresh when I arrived. I like the variety of food choices at the resort.
We arrived Friday afternoon around 2:00 PM and decided to check-in upon arrival. When we walked into check-in, nobody else in line. Two people working, each one was waiting on a customer. Another 20 minutes or more elapsed before we were waited on. Not sure the problem, we know that the one guy was new and completely lost....As far as the other one working, we could overhear her asking for the right information ~~~ valid I.D. and credit card. PLEASE post a sign and tell the people to have proper credentials ready when checking in....Room was great and comfortable as usual. Very spacious, bed was very comfortable and the extra pillows are a plus....
Somethings wrong if I am up writing this review from hotel room at 2:30am. Oh, that’s because I am wide awake unable to sleep on the most uncomfortable pillows and sheets ever! Usually I want to take home hotel pillows (lol) and feel like I’m sleeping in a cloud when in a hotel bed. Definitely not the case here! You can hear the sound of the sheets when someone moves, that’s how scratchy they are. And forget the pillows, which will kink your neck for sure if you use one, no matter how you try to “mold” it. It won’t budge (scratchy pillowcases to match sheets of course too). I would have left and went back home had my husband not be downstairs on a winning streak! Now he is passed out. (He could sleep on a log- oh wait, he basically is sleeping on one now). So if you come, bring your own pillows!!!
Granted you're at a casino, but the smoke is awful. You'll smell like you just stepped out of a basement frat party no matter what you do. The rooms are mediocre. The buckled carpet was not touched by my bare feet. I didn't want to even put my bag on the dusty/fur/hairball chair. Our room smelled of heavy disinfectant and our friend's room had broken air conditioning and they had to move. I'm not sure how people even think this ranks highly amongst other hotels - maybe they don't travel. The staff was great, that's about all I can say.
