How to Get There
Not in the centre of town, but located a 25 minute walk or 15 minute bus/tram ride from the centre and the same from the airport. We loved the location of the hotel as it is by a restored fort (now part of the museum of modern art) and gives you great views of the city as you approach it through a pleasant woodland walk. It’s all downhill so you can wander down and get the many different buses back. The hotel itself is a good quality business style hotel with nice touches, a gym, sauna and steam room. Breakfast was excellent and it had sensible serving times and checkout. All in all, we found it a great place to explore the city from, although if you’d prefer to be in the heart of the city this isn’t the hotel for you.
Located in the business area, the Melia is a good business hotel. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable, service is professional. Nothing really else to expect. Attention to the parking : public parking next door but quite expensive.
Good and diverse breakfast.
So a good choice for a business trip.
Upon arrival at the hotel around 7 pm on a Sunday, I was told that the restaurant was closed. I had to drive back to the city to grab something to eat. Please note that the car park is right next to the hotel where you pay on exit. Positives: Clean room, nice breakfast Negatives:Restaurant has no food on SundaysNo complimentary drink or fruit in the room.
Chose on nothing else than proximity to my office and was able to walk to work (despite the snow) - really a very good hotel. Excellent night's sleep, excellent breakfast (if a little expensive) and a really good night's sleep. Internet a little patchy - otherwise would have rated excellent. Would re-book on next visit.
A beautiful hotel that, despite being an international chain, has a ‘boutique feel’ to it. Rooms are large, beds are very comfortable and facilities are superb. Upgraded to a Level room giving a first class view over the city and access to canapés and drinks during the afternoon/evening. Getting there from the airport is so so simple to now that the excellent tram system is in operation. This is the place to stay for easy access to the entire city
