Nothing special, conveniently located and good breakfast
Reviewed 20 hours ago

Early November I stayed two nights in the Melia Luxembourg for work. The hotel is conveniently located on the Kirchberg Plateau, just steps away from the European Convention Center, the European Investment Bank and several other EU institutions. There is tram stop nearby from where a tram to the city center/ old town can be taken.

The building is rather modern, but my room, located on the third floor was somewhat dark as I looked out on the somewhat depressing 1960’s Schuman Building next door. The room was not too small but not very large either. Design and furniture was nothing special but functional. What I found bothersome is the uncomfortable mattresses/ beds, which prevented me from having a good night sleep. The internet was also rather slow from time to time.

The breakfast on the other hand was rather good, with a great selection of food and beverages. There are some nice running trails around the hotel if you are keen on doing a morning workout. I did not use the gym, but understood that it only opens as of 0700, which in my case is too late.

All in all, the big plus of this Melia hotel is its location if you need to be in the area of the ECCL.

A perfect experience

Perfect hotel in all its aspects, especially the treatment of the staff (incluido personal que hablaba en castellano...). Large rooms, good services and everything in a clean and impeccable environment.
The hotes is very well located to visit the city, with the tram a few steps away, and with quick communication with the airport.

Great service from start to finish. The staff are very helpful and the hotel is very clean. The rooms were clean and beds were huge! Good food in restaurant the the Level lounge as well as a very good breakfast spread. Tram stop 5 minute walk and well worth getting a Luxembourg card from reception which gives free public transport and entry into several museums. Car park is right next door and has plenty of spaces as well as being secure.

Worst experience ever

The double payment and strange card data needed (already payed via secure booking), the personel confirm the payment from booking other charged me again in half an hour. Problem still not solved and the management dont care about. No business trips! If U are frequent traveler another hotel recommended!

lovely place to stay and work

Lovely big, airy rooms - well-appointed with comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom with plenty of space to put toiletries etc. I had lots of admin to do and it was a lovely room to work in. Kettle, fridge, coffee, tea, comfortable desk, good WiFi. And the breakfast was really excellent - everything you could possibly want (though the coffee could be better - it was rather bitter, machine coffee). Lovely staff on reception. I'm sorry I can't remember their names, but they couldn't have been more helpful.
