Spread across a handful of pitched-roof pavilions that cling to the lush hills of Luang Prabang, the 24-room Kiridara boutique hotel serves up luxury digs and a traditional Laotian spa overlooking Mount Phou Si. Dine al fresco on tapas and lychee martinis at Phu Doi Restaurant, try a sour-fruit kajeap at the open-air Deck & Poolside Bar overlooking the hotel’s cliffside infinity-edge pool, or nosh on room service from the climate-controlled comfort of your suite. The guestrooms’ flat-screen LCD TVs, high-speed WiFi, and iPod docks give an electronic edge to more elegant Teak and Terrazzo appointments.
In the Area
At the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong rivers, Central Luang Prabang attracts history seekers with its collection of monasteries, Buddhist temples and ancient cultural sites. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site on foot, starting from the foothills of Mount Phou Si and taking one of two scenic paths into town. The Night Museum, occupying the former Royal Palace known as Haw Kham, is an ideal prologue to any visit, showcasing artifacts and information about the history of Laos. How to Get There
The Kiribati is on an elevated site overlooking the town. It has great views. There are a lot of steps, if you’re not very mobile. The shuttle bus into town was great. The airport is nearby. The rooms were good and the pool area was nice but the water a bit cool! Breakfast was included but it wasn’t very exciting! The staff were all great. LuAng Prabang is lovely and the waterfalls are a must visit.
The arrival experience is decent, with a drive up a tree lined lane, ascending to the reception. rooms were spacious. the property is boutique in size, so you never feel over crowded. we had a nice corner suite overlooking the pool.
In Pohm who drove us into town was particularly helpful, dropping us at our restaurant instead of the regular drop off point for their transfer.
However, the rest wasn't so hospitable.
On one of the evenings we were out at a local wine bar, we called the hotel to pick us up around their regular pick up at 940pm from town. The hotel initially said ok, then called the wine bar back at 945pm to say they couldn't pick us up as their 14 seater minibus was full with 10 guests. We were told to get our own tuk tuk to return to the hotel.
After numerous haggling with tuk tuk drivers, we eventually arrived back at Kiridara. I requested to meet the General Manger the next morning to the night staff to discuss the incident. Over the next two mornings, I heard nothing from the General Manager nor anyone from the Hotel.
Let's be fair, the spa was really really good (awesome in American). And both the spa and the restaurant staff were prompt to elicit reviews on TripAdvisor.
Overall the best about Kiridara is the property - the hardware. There isn't the authenticity in service delivery often experienced in this charming region. The service and leadership quality cannot match Asian hospitality standards and certainly don't deserve the overall ratings here.
The service here were lovely we came two times during my visited Luangn prabang. This is one that can be reommended for high quality spa at The spa kiridara.
Thank you "Nat" spa manager for communicated and recommented. Well done
We had a great stay at Kiridara, particularly with the great staff at the restaurant. Ms Linda and Mr Vanh Say were friendly and great staff and the food and beverage department. Would highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant!
We stayed at this hotel while visiting Luang Prabang. Staff at the hotel were very attentive and friendly. Special thanks to Sun at the restaurant who took very good care of us while we were there.
Only complaint I had was they have wild roosters running around next door and they are very noisy early in the morning and it’s hard to sleep in. Towels could use an upgrade as well as many were worn down some had staining on them.
Restaurant food was top notch. It was better quality than most restaurants we visited in town.
