How to Get There
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I went for Mardi Gras and had a pretty good time despite the weather. The parades come right in front of the hotel. The bed was pretty comfortable. It would have been more comfortable if I had an extra pillow or two. The room was very clean. I enjoyed having a view of Canal Street. I gave four stars instead of five stars due to the WiFi. I ended up using my iPhone as a hotspot. I did not/do not use valet parking plus there’s an extra ten dollars for SUVs. I parked on a public lot and paid about half. Plus you have to wait behind whoever for them to bring your car to you. The way the elevators work did not bother me at all. The hotel is an easy walk to Bourbon Street. This hotel is in the Central Business District which is just across the street from the French Quarters. You walk across the street and you are in the French Quarters. I could see myself staying at this hotel everytime I go to New Orleans. The aquarium is right down the street. Jackson Square is an easy little walk away. I would have to have my own transportation everytime I went to New Orleans. I learned that horrible lesson the last time I went to Mardi Gras and ended up having to walk a mile. Next time I go, I will know what the weather is first. The rain and coldness kind of put a damper on things. I would have canceled but I had prepaid for the room. Please treat yourself and go to Mardi Gras at least one time in your life. Please enjoy some of that good food that only New Orleans offers. Nobody does it like New Orleans nobody. If you are going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, make sure you stay at a hotel on Canal, that is on the parade route.
Stayed 2 nights here for work and brought along my wife and 3 year old. Hotel is super clean and the employees are very attentive. Great location if you want to walk the French Quarter. Elevator system really cool too! Would recommend
There was nothing about this hotel that would make me want to return. We were there with a large convention crowd for a week. There was consistently piles of laundry in our hallway, room service trays out for hours at a time. The wi-fi is dismal. The lunch buffet was embarrassing. Both the offerings and the service. 50 bucks a night for valet. They close the bar shockingly early. We rolled in with about 40 of us at 10:45 ready to drink and socialize, and were met with a closed bar. The 3 bartenders told us that they close at 11 unless there isn't enough business by 10:30. I owned a bar. If my bar manager instructed the bartenders to turn away a group of 40 that was ready to drink, I'd fire every single one of them. The bar manager cost the hotel a bunch of money. Leave a bartender there. There's no way you don't make enough to cover labor costs. Just poor business practice. So the TL;DR version is, you'll get the exact same experience at any divey motel. Unless you have to be at this location, skip it.
Not happy at all , The Hotel manager wanted $150 more to change our room Devonte our room was by common street which is behind Canal st there is garbage truck noise backing up next to Hotel from early in the morning around 3:am, no double pane windows the rooms lock they make loud noise when somebody open and close there door the hotel is not in French Quarter it is in Canal street cross from French Quarter. parking is $51 per night valet only, Calling front desk from room they do not pick up the phone. The concierge are very good, Called to talk to general manager about our problems , He never returned My call.. We travel a lot , never had bad experiences like this. they don't care.
We booked through Priceline. When we arrived, we were asked if we had cancelled. They had overbooked and sent us to the JW Marriott next door. We were relieved. Even though both are 4 star, JW Marriott is much classier and knows how to treat their customers.
