How to Get There
This was my first time to stay here, because I had a business conference at the nearby Hilton Riverside Hotel. The Hilton was not available for my first Saturday night stay so I opted to stay at this nearby Marriott. I had a rental car, when I arrived and learned that the self-parking was too far away to park considering I had some products to exhibit at the conference. I, therefore, opted for the hotel’s valet parking, which cost $44 per day. My check-in went smoothly. I had a nice room with two double beds, which I requested although I would have preferred two queens. It seems all rooms with two beds are only double beds because of the smaller room size. The flat screen HDTV was a nice large size around 55 inches. I also had a mini refrigerator, which I also used.
Marriott’s Bonvoy app allowed me to other extra down pillows for my room 1222 with two double beds for $201 inclusive of all taxes and fees. The down pillows were nice. The Marriott Bonvoy app allows me to pre-order down pillows before I check into my room. The Hilton app does not allow such pre-ordering.
As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium platinum elite member I had access to the concierge lounge located on the 3rd floor for breakfast, evening Hors d’oeuvres and dessert, which I always greatly appreciate. The lounge is a nice place to start and end my busy day by unwinding in the evening. The lounge is open daily from 6:30am to 10pm. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and exercise room on the 3rd floor.
My check-out went equally smoothly and my rental car was quickly brought around so I could move over to the nearby Hilton for the remainder of my stay. I liked this hotel except for the two double beds. I would stay here again in a king bed especially if the room rate is below $200.
Room very small, bathroom tiny, even soap selection poor
What happened to the luxurious Marriott ?
They have gone downhill
Not even a bottle of water for tired guests
Will rethink Marriott and we have status
Amenities very low end not worthy of Marriott
Had lunch with my friend at the hotel bar the day before the fire happened in laundry room. The crab cakes were excellent so were the drinks. My friend got moved to LeMeridian after the fire and he enjoyed that room better. Not sure if he was charged more to stay, I sure hope not!!!!
