Fantastic Staff, lobby is a disaster

The bad is that the lobby is undergoing renovations. As a Titanium with 116 nights so far this year I have ran into my share of renovations. This reno could be done with more care for the guests. The front desk was folding tables. The bar was temporary, and people couldn't walk by if guests were at the bar. It is a total disaster. I feel it could have been done in a better fashion, so its obvious the GM cares more about construction that customer sat...which is sad.

However, the rest of the staff was fantastic top to bottom and they saved what would have otherwise been a horrible stay for me and somehow got me to put this down with 5 stars...which I rarely do.

Staff was warm, helpful, and inviting. They went out of their way to polish up what they knew was a bad situation for the guests. Special Kudos to Emily, the asst food and beverage mgr. She sent up a 'thank you' package to our rooms after seeing us try to enjoy a bar while we were simultaneously getting hit with luggage rolling by because there was no place to walk without hitting a patron. I included a photo with the review. This was a real nice touch and shows how dedicated to service the staff was.

I will also add that the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fantastic and on the upper end of a Marriott.

I'll be back to this hotel again, because once the lobby issue is worked out this place will be worth 6 stars and not 5.

Nice comfortable hotel with clean rooms and good service. The lobby is currently under renovation so it is a bit of a mess but the Southern hospitality was apparent To out hours day. The hotel is conveniently located close to the French Quarter and some great restaurants.

My stay was uneventful

This was the conference hotel. My stay was average for Marriott all hotels of this scale that I've visited. It didn't really offer anything spectacular nor did it disappoint. It's close location within walking distance of Bourbon Street and the vast array of nightlife was good.
