How to Get There
We enjoyed our Sunday and Monday nights at the Marriott. Our room (3822) was spacious, clean, and quiet with a great view of the Mississippi. Comfy beds and lots of good pillows. Bathroom had a big mirror and nice lighting (no close-up mirror, though).
This Marriott is a big, bustling place with lots of guests and a large, open first-floor lounge where you can get drinks/food and watch sports events in the evenings with the crowd. On the edge of the French Quarter, the Marriott is located a 5-minute walk to the wonderful Mr. B's Bistro and the swanky Monteleone Carousel bar, a 15-minute stroll to picturesque Jackson Square (don't miss the upscale diner breakfast at nearby Stanley). Most convenient, perhaps, was the CVS right up Canal Street for buying aloe vera after getting an unexpected November sunburn!
My husband and I visited New Orleans for our 14th wedding anniversary. This hotel was wonderful with it's location and amenities. My husband is titanium with Marriott, so we had access to the M Lounge which made for amazing breakfasts, and delicious evening snacks. Special kudos go to Emily Anderson, in the M Lounge. She was helpful, pleasant, and upon learning of our Anniversary, sent a lovely gift to our room for us to enjoy. Without a doubt we would stay at this location again.
Convenient location in the French Quarter. We should have been informed at check-in about the elevator operation. The elevators operate by selecting your floor before you enter and not after you are in the elevator which was a mistake we made. Our room was clean and spacious except for the bathroom which was very small, not much bigger than the closet.
