How to Get There
We had mostly used points for this stay, but if I had paid for the suite there I would have been upset. It was roomy but really dingy- no natural light. The windows were all covered by tinting and the lights in the room were not good. We could also hear everything going on in the suite next to us. The staff was nice and the location was great. If you are staying here, don't park there. It is easy to park at Harrah's, play slowly for 30 mins and park there for free. We just played video blackjack slowly and came out ahead over the course of the week and no more than $10 down on any day for the 30 minutes so it's easy not to lose much in just the 30 minutes you have to play. You just can't leave and re-enter without playing for another 30 minutes on someone else's player's card (only one free parking per 24 hrs per person) however they do not monitor the cars coming and going. Even if you don't want to go into the casino, parking at Harrah's would be $30 per day vs. $45 at the hotel. The entrance for self parking is around the corner on the building with the Gordon Biersch.
We stayed at Le Meridien recently because we generally like their hotels and the price was good ($150 per night) but when we arrived at reception the 2 ladies working there literally sold us to what they told us was a better room for an additional $50 per night. They were really hard sales tactics and we felt obliged to take the offer. When we went to the room it was not as they described it. They had told us that the room with have a view - yes if you stool on a stool and peered out of it! One bedside table had no lamp for example and we really felt ripped off so we immediately called down and said we were refusing the deal. When we went downstairs they gave us another room. To our surprise the new room was exactly the same as the other room but it did have a bedside light so we decided to keep it. At least we saved $50. I felt like they had really tried to take advantage of us and was not at all impressed. Would not stay at this hotel. Also the room doors are extremely close to each other so when your neighbour leaves his room you think someone is leaving your room - and the noise starts at 6 am as people begin to leave. Also, I could hear my neighbour in a lenghtly conference call in his room so privacy is a real issue in this hotel.
Average, got penalized as platinum member with the smallest room and bathroom
Asked nicely for an upgrade and told that I already received it, asked what was it and was told a high floor ????????????
Seriously thinking dropping Marriott status, never receive any real perks
Location is ok, beds are great
Someone knocking at all door at 8:30 am, i guess don’t oversleep
Will never stay in a failing brand Le Meridien ( gave 3 times)
Customer service 6/10
If loyal to Marriott, westing is close by
