How to Get There
The pros about this hotel: It is located across the street from Harrah's casino, walking distance to canal street and bourbon street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are good. The hotel is beautiful.
Cons: There is no parking unless you pay $45 for valet or park in other lots that can charge up to $23 per day. The pool is so small and is not an appropriate size for such a large hotel. The shower in my room had no cool water and produced scorching hot water. The only way I could use cool water is if I barely turned on the shower and the water pressure would be very low. Some of the furniture and refrigerator were broken upon checkin. However, a staff member quickly fixed that. It is a good hotel for singles and couples. Families the only downside is thin walls, so if your room is next to a couple be prepared.
We traveled to NOLA to celebrate my 40th Birthday with friends. I picked Le Meridien because I wanted to have some peace and quiet at night and I knew staying in the French Quarter would be a bit loud. I made the best decision in doing so. The hotel is beautiful. We were greeted by a wonderful lady at the desk. (Gabrielle?) Kevin Cheneau greeted us in the most welcoming way. He took our bags and sent us off to explore the City of Jazz. Every time we saw him, he made sure we were ok and asked if we needed anything. The rooms is spacious and the bathroom was neat. We slept comfortably. Our room was cleaned everyday. There is a scent that the hotel pumps into the lobby air and it smells so good. The bartenders were friendly and always willing to chat with you. Everyone we encountered at this hotel was an absolute pleasure. We spent a little time laying out by the pool and it was great. Met more people. Overall, I give the hotel 5 star rating. People are friendly, helpful and safe. Book your room and flights and get over to NOLA now.
The staff were very kind and welcoming. Overall, the rooms and the hotel oats nice.
The food offered is a bit pricey and you don’t get much for your buck.
I’m a bit disappointed because I’m realizing that they do not have a refrigerator or microwave in the room. This is the first hotel I’ve stayed at that doesn’t have these items in the room. We placed food in the fridge only to learn that it’s not a refrigerator—it’s a cooler. However, there’s a mini bar that’s keeping the hotel supplied beverages cooler than the beverages we placed in the COOLER. Our food went to waste.
Also, when we turn the air down, the rooms smells like wet funky socks. So we called the front desk and I’m assuming that someone came in the room and sprayed while we were gone.
