How to Get There
Very nice hotel with beautiful decor.Great location. Exceptional customer service. Two block walk from French Quarter .Spacious room with mini fridge and coffee maker.Right across from the Harrahs Casino .Enjoyed my stay will book again
This was the last hotel on my Southern adventures and what a way to finish off. From the very beginning to the very end this was the best choice I made on this trip.
I love the fact that the hotel is located away from the noisy and a bit annoying French Quarter. I like the staff attitude as they did everything to assist me in finding local gems off the beaten path. I loved my room which was modern, bright, large and had a great view to the North along Poydras Street. I slept very comfortably and I would love to come back to stay another time.
Unfortunately I didn't make it to the hotel's restaurant as I got a little addicted to taking photos in the city. I kind of lost time when I explored the neighborhoods.
And just one thing about the environmental practices. I understand that everything is a beginning. And I agree that not having housekeeping is also a good thing. And not exchanging towels. But I feel this is a really low bar environmentally. Why keep the soap bars? Why the little bottles of shampoo and conditioner? I would love for you to exchange it with more environmentally friendly packing. It would save both the hotel's money and the precious environment.
I am sliver Elite Marriott Rewards members, I redeemed 65000 points to stay in this hotel. When I made my reservation, the app and the Marriott website were down , which isn't the hotel problem, so I made a reservation using cash. I waited until the system was back and running and made another reservation using my points. I asked to speak with a manager so he can make the switch and ensure that my stay is using my points which he told me that he took care off during our conversation over the phone. I forgot to mention that I didn't receive an upgrade, no concierge or executive level at the hotel. They assigned me an accessible room that got flooded after I took a shower twice because the curtain was too short in the walk in shower. I spoke with the lady at the front desk and moved rooms at 1:00 AM because I couldn't stay in that bathroom that got all wet and so slippery. Next day, I didn't receive any housekeeping service and had to stop by the front desk at 4 PM in order for someone to make my room up. The iron burned my two shirts while using it as well but I didn't mention this to anyone. On my last day, I received an email with my folio and was shocked to see that they charge me for my room even though I spoke with a manager to fix my reservation!!!!!! I was so upset and asked to speak to one of the manager who told me that they did a mistake, I asked him if I can get an extended check out until 5 PM , he told me no because "the housekeeper who works in the floor leaves at 5 PM and the maximum he can extend me is until 4 PM" . As a guest, it's not my issue when the housekeeper leaves, I am bringing several issues to your attention and as a manager I am expecting you to be understanding of my needs and not to talk to me about your associate's schedule and time to leave from work, this are internal concerns and that isn't the answer I was expecting! I completed my survey and shared my feedback and instated of getting some of my points back as a gesture of good well or apologizing for the inconveniences. I got a "thank you email , we shared your concerns with the appropriate team members"
We stayed at the Le Meridien following our cruise and we couldn't find anything wrong with the hotel. The staff were amazing from check in, to cleaners, to the guys looking after the luggage - they were always on hand to help and nothing was too much trouble.
We were early for our check in so our room wasn't quite ready but we were able to leave our luggage and have a wander around New Orleans for a couple of hours. Canal Street is only a few minutes walk and the French Quarter probably another 5 minutes from there.
Once we got into the room it was so spacious and clean and the bathroom was a good size with a lovely walk in shower.
To be honest we didn't spend much time in the hotel but whenever we had questions about any of the places we were visiting there was always someone on hand to ask questions and get advise on where to go and what to see.
We would most definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully we'll be able to come back soon.
We normally stay in The Quarter, but found this property by booking a bundle of air-hotel through American Airlines. Saw that it had decent reviews and booked it, lemme tell you how they scored big time. The City of New Orleans issued a boil water alert, so this hotel provided ample, if not more than ample amounts of bottled water that were located by the elevators of each floor. Who does that? That's a 1st for me and we travel a lot. If you like to gamble the Harrah's casino is right across the street, and have they cleaned up the casino, no more creepy guys hitting you up for money outside the doors. You're a very short walk to Manning's, an excellent local bar-restaurant, perfect for Saints games. And Drago's is just down from there in the Hilton for you to get your char-broiled oyster fix. Food here was pretty good, had some small room service apps that reasonably priced and there rather quickly. Canal Street is a short 3 minute walk, The Quarter is no more than 10. Will stay here again. We got a 5 star hotel for a 3 star price.
