How to Get There
My wife and I stayed there this week for our anniversary. I absolutely loved this hotel! The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly and so were the gentlemen that helped with our luggage. We got a room for a great price and then we were offered an upgrade when we arrived to a bigger room for not much more. The part of the hotel that we stayed in was super quiet and the bed was very comfy. I think the only thing that I did wish they had, would have been a continental breakfast. Also we didn't get to have a good drink experience at the Loa bar because I think the bartender may have had one to many drinks but not really sure. He was swaying back and forth and some people at the bar had to push their glasses closer to him so he didn't spill when making them. When he made our drink, he made it so strong that it was impossible to drink. :/ I'm happy we had a complimentary drink ticket or I would have been upset having to pay for it. All in all, it was a great experience at the hotel. They decorated it really nice for Halloween week and we enjoyed seeing Banksy's artwork there. We also got to have dinner a couple times at the new restaurant that opened up that's right next to it called Rockrose. Very convenient and delicious. :) We would definitely stay there again and I will recommend this place to my friends. Probably one of my favorite hotels to stay at.
For the price of the room, I would think a coffee maker in the room isn't too much to ask. There was coffee provided in the lobby but it was so watered down it looked more like iced tea. We had an issue getting our car due to the streets being closed bc of the Hard Rock demolition. The front desk texted the valet to get the car but they never replied back, so they said we'd have to walk a few blocks with our luggage to the garage. So, my question is, if I can go get my car and get out, then how are they not able to go get the car? So we started walking and after a block, here comes our car down the street and my husband had to flag him down. It wasn't a huge deal, but the price for valet and the room, it could have been a better experience and they need to improve the method of communication between the front desk and valet. On another note, the bellman was extremely helpful and very nice. When we checked in our room wasn't ready so he checked our luggage and when we checked out, he helped us bring our luggage to the parking garage and was going to show us where it was and make sure we got there safely.
Rooms very old and small. No room to move around the bed with 2 suite cases out. Had to run the water for 15 minutes to get a warm shower. Coffee and Tea in the mornings in the lobby was good and the front desk staff were excellent. I wouldn't have a drink in the bar again
