as they say location, location, location— and great service across the board

It was a busy weekend with a Saints game and who knows what else but that did not put a damper on the hotel, their staff or their southern hospitality. There was a small problem with the computers but the check in counter handled it as well as anyone could expect. Things happen and they kept up their southern ways and got the job done. That was all a positive in my book. The hotel is quite large and yet easy to still feel pampered.
The room was wonderful and 10 minutes after we got to our room, I had a text asking if there was anything we needed. That impressed me. It happened every day. What a nice gesture that though easy for them to do with computers it really made you feel special and cared for. I cannot think of any need that was not met, including razor and shave cream at our request when we realized we forgot ours.
Some may think the parking charge is expensive but with the amount of parking available it was a bargain in my view. I could go on and on but it was perfect in my opinion.

So, I was super psyched that I was able to check in and get my electronic key. I had been flying all day and all I wanted to do was get to the hotel and get to my room. I was assigned my room before I got there and off I went up the elevators. When I got to the room that they assigned me and opened the door....it was someone else's room. So...so...SO embarrassing. But, my key worked! Ugh. I immediately excused myself and went back downstairs. When I got to the front desk, they assured me that this WAS my room. I made sure they knew that I definitely understand but that THERE WAS OTHER PEOPLE AND STUFF THERE. they understood and gave me another room. So, back up I went again with my luggage and into a room. Whew.

Overall, this new room was nice but it had a sign to keep my blinds closed because they were doing window work. Was someone going to climb up to the 17th floor? Maybe! Not sure but I would have liked to have had my windows open.

The last thing that stunk was that I needed to buy a toiletry. The gift shop was definitely closed on a weeknight and it was 6pm. When I asked someone, they let me know that the gift shop closed at 8pm. So.....it should have been open. They told me to give it an hour and come back, which I couldn't do. A sign would have been great to let people know if it temporarily had to close and when it would reopen.

Overall, great for meetings, wonderful restaurant. The late evening bartender was fabulous in getting me dessert and even a glass of milk to drink with it. So kind. I would go back to eat, definitely.


The hotel choice was due to a conference at the convention center-so the room was quite overpriced for the value of the rooms and location.

The hotel was located on the other end of the convention center- much farther than expected. The hotel is on the boardwalk which is great for walks along the Mississippi. The location around the boardwalk was run-down.

The check in experience was quick and everyone was very pleasant.

The rooms were quiet-my room was at a cul-de-sac -- I couldn't hear guests around me. Rooms had free water bottles and coffee/tea machine. However, the room decor was dated- especially the bedding, as was the bathroom.

NoLa has great food choices- so go out! -no need to eat at a hotel restaurant!
