How to Get There
Three things: 1.) this is now rated as a 4 diamond AAA hotel. 2) it's expensive but good value. And 3rd if you go and pla in the casino it can be free as a comped room.
The rooms are large, quiet and extremely comfortable. There are decent food options. I like the southern restaurant which has decent southern meals like e.g. shrimp and grits. The coffee shop is lacking in choices and relatively expensive. The casino is fun and clean and varied. At this time there is no sports book, but one may be coming. I did use the spa last year and it is top notch with attentive service.
My husband and I came with 2 other couples for a long weekend trip. We had a great time! We enjoyed dinner at the Ember restaurant, breakfast at the buffet. We went to the pool area - the lazy river was a bit chilly, so we were sad to not be able to enjoy the swim up bar. We did enjoy the adults only pool. The chairs were nice, service was great and music/atmosphere was very enjoyable. We also liked the Jack Daniels bar after 11 PM they have a DJ or live music during the weekends.
We liked that the casino had $5 min. tables available along with higher min, tables. The slots were fun, they had a variety of different machines. Service in the casino was good, we were able to get a drink while we played.
The only "flaws" were minor. When we arrived, our room number was on the ground. This was later taped back up by maintenance but then fell again. Some of our light bulbs in the room were out, so we had to switch some out for others so we could have light in our bedside lamp. Other than that, the stay was great.
L’Auberge Casino Resort is by far in away the best hotel in Lake Charles. Although the Golden Nugget is newer and full of shallow hype, the resort accommodations and staff at L’Auberge are far superior to those of their competitors. I have stayed at both properties 5+ occasions each therefore am giving my seasoned, honest review.
L’Auberge is an excellent escape! The moment you walk in the the door you are greeted by friendly staff members. The L (Lobby) bar is welcoming and cozy. The restaurants are excellent!!
The Casino is Huge with plenty of variety in games! Great pay out too, (** better than the Golden Nugget).
Perhaps my favorite part is the hotels lazy river and swim up bar areas where you can escape reality and feel like you floating among a tropical oasis!!
10/10 Definitely Recommend!
Terrible mattress in our room. Lumpy, soft and cheap.
People in next room partying very loudly until 2AM.
So sleep was impossible. Called Security and they did
say something to them but 10 minutes later they werat it again.
Very nice & clean. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is, unfortunately my room had a door for joining rooms. I could hear everything from the TV cell on the other line notifications to things I really didn't care to hear.
As far as the cleanliness and comfort 5 stars.
