Just a night away
Reviewed 4 days ago

We went for a short get away and to play a few slots. We did spend one night and over all everything was as expected. We ate at the Asian restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating. My only disappointment was the cigarette smoke but ... I just moved to another slot machine. After all, this is a free country.

Fantastic Pool

Stayed here several times. On site golf course. Fantastic "one of a kind" pool area. Tables are a little pricey. Rooms are very nice, however, slightly out-dated. Can walk boardwalk to Golden Nugget. All in all, a classy place.

Rm 532 Nice quiet room, even though right next to ice machine room and elevator

recently spent a weekend at this hotel. Rooms were nice. Not as upscale as some casinos we've stayed at, but nice. Its an older hotel and the rooms showed some age if you looked closely enough you would see some blemishes. But not OMG, just small issues. Pool was heated, two small whirlpools available. Weird pool closing time of 6 PM. But very nicely landscaped. They have no smoking floors to the hotel. Our room was literally right next to vending machine/ ice machine room. But we never heard a noise from them. Very quiet room. Only noise we did hear was the elevator, also next to room. Actually sounded like a strong wind blowing outside your house windows. Not loud, just a hum, or whirling sound. No dings, bells, or door noise. Overall a very nice hotel, we would gladly stay at again. And we do plan to do so.

A very nice hotel

We decided to stay in Lake Charles on our way back from Florida. Our choices were L’Auberge or the Golden Nugget. After reading reviews it was pretty much a tie. The deciding factor, L’Auberge management was the only one to answer reviews. So L’Auberrge it was. We were not disappointed. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was unfailingly helpful and courteous. The choice of restaurants is good (we had xcellent Chinese in Asia). Although it is winter, the pool area is gorgeous and well worth a walk around. My only issue which is not unique to L’Auberge is that there just doesn’t seem to be a smoke free area in any Casino. Perhaps, even though only 15% of the population smoke, maybe 90% of gamblers smoke. HINT: ask for an odd numbered room, they have great views.
