How to Get There
This was a great place to stay. I stayed here for the week during a business trip due to the great room price. The housekeepers did an amazing job, everyday the room looked new. The table games employees were kind when I was losing and happy when I was winning. Plenty of parking and shopping on the Louisiana Boardwalk is a 10 minute walk. Great job guys!!
I got this room for free so I will not be to harsh with my review. Cleanliness could have been much better. Hair on tub, hair stuck to hairdryer, dirty floors. Carpet and tile. It was a smoking room and as I am not a smoker the smell was strong and in the bed linens. In reference of the beds they were very worn sagging in the middle, they tried to help the sag with some type of topper and that just made the bed squishy. We had two doubles and they were the same. The room itself is large with newer televisions, coffee maker. Could really use some updating with more accessible outlets for phone chargers. I would stay again if it was free and I was to tired to drive home but I would not pay to stay here based on this room.
The Horseshoe Bossier City is a great place to relax and have fun. The hotel rooms are very nice. The eating establishments serve excellent food. One will not be disappointed. The property offers valet parking as well as ample self-parking. It is safe and secure.
Horseshoe employees were very helpful and courteous. They welcome you when you first enter their casino. I was only their to play the slots this time, they were loose and the employees were right there ready to get you a beverage.
As far as the hotel, dining, and shopping go the Horseshoe is tough to beat. 100% of the staff we encountered were absolute top shelf folks. Both the 8oz Burger bar and the "Spread" buffet were great with no hint of "industrial food" anywhere.
Were we to complain about anything in the hotel and dining area it would be that no one figured out it was COLD outside when we stayed. Thus the A/C was humming along happily necessitating a coat or jacket wherever we went. It also guaranteed that that your meal was ice cold before the half-way point. Full 5 rating otherwise.
The room was large and quite nice and only a couple complaints there. My wife and I are both cold natured so the first thing we did in our room was to raise the thermostat. Even at the max setting of 86 degrees we'd get heat for about a minute before it started blowing cold again. No heat in the bathroom either so bathing was a frosty treat too. While in the bathroom...... the shower curtain didn't fit the tub. Short by a good foot. So your option of a 12 in gap near the shower-head..... at the end where the water is spraying or a 6 inch gap at both ends. OH!! Toilets! I'm only 6'-2" tall..... and the seat of the commode was 4 inches below my knee! My wife is 8 inches shorter and she had trouble. Perfect for pre-teens.... not suitable for adults.
