How to Get There
Room was fine, location was fine, parking was fine. Good GOD was the restaurant service horrible. In every possible way. Super slow to even acknowledge existence of customers. Wrong orders. Taking forever to bring anything. Leaving the breakfast buffet empty at 7:30 am on a Saturday. Took 45 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Seriously just terrible. If you don't plan on using the restaurant in any way shape or form, this DoubleTree is totally fine. If you DO, stay away.
My family and I have just stayed here this past weekend. And honestly I’m shocked that the reviews I read were decent for this hotel. I will start with the first minute or so we walked in the door. There were several workers standing together behind the front desk and no one greeted us or even said Hello we’ll be with you in a minute. I’m used to staying at Marriotts where they always great you and ask how your day is. So check in was absolutely nothing special. Okay I can move past that. Then we ate dinner in the restaurant. We stood there waiting to see if we needed to be seated or could seat ourselves but every worker just walked by us saying nothing. So we sat ourselves. When I say the service was horrible that’s an understatement! It probably took the waitress 15 minutes to take our orders. Then it took well over an hour to get our food (which by the way was two sandwiches and kids chicken tenders!). There was what I thought was a manager in the restaurant and I went over to her and asked about our food and explained that there was a party of 8 that ordered after us and got their meals already. She didn’t even say anything to me just yelled to the waitress to check on it. I later saw her working in the front desk area. Now the rooms - they are not very clean. There is a layer of dust on everything. Including the towel nook in the bathroom. The wallpaper had stains and tears. The curtains were partially of their track. The bathroom door had what looked like dirty finger prints on it. There were some stains in the towels. The crazy thing was there was one outlet in the bathroom and you couldn’t use it because it was behind the mirror!!! So had to do hair in hallway! I don’t know whose idea that was. Also usually the water pressure is so soft in hotels. Not here it was like needles shooting out at your skin. My daughter cried every time she took a shower and there was nothing you could do to adjust it! It wasn’t just our shower. We were with a group of people and they said theirs were like that too.
This was a wonderful hotel. The staff were all fabulous and the room was great. It's a big property, but never felt that way. There was always a smiling face and someone eager to help. I've stayed in many Hilton brand hotels, from Hampton Inn to Waldorf Astoria, and the service at this location surpassed all others. Kudos!
