Sprawling all-inclusive Cabo resort with a swim-up bar, marina views and a spa, all within walking distance of famed Medano Beach
Set back from Medano Beach on Cabo San Lucas’s picturesque boat basin, the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive retreat with an adobe-style sandstone exterior in hues that complement the arid landscape. The open-air lobby features wrought iron chandeliers, potted plants, Mexican textiles and rattan furnishings. Swim in the free-form pool and sidle up to the bar for a frozen margarita, or carve out some time at the spa — treatments range from hot stone massages and deep cleansing facials to beach-inspired body wraps, such as detoxifying seaweed and tropical mango. Get your workout in at the seventh-floor Sky Gym, an open-air fitness center overlooking the marina, before eating back all the calories at the à la carte restaurants. You can visit La Presto for ciabatta sandwiches, antipastos and big bowls of pasta, or settle in at La Palapa for shaded poolside eats and drinks, all prepared in an open-air patio kitchen. Rooms on all levels give off a nautical vibe, with tile floors, carved lighthouse sculptures and anchor-patterned pillowcases and bedspreads. Splurge on a Nautical Two-Bedroom Suite for a full kitchen and a private balcony with marina or pool views.
In the Area
Cabo’s desert-meets-ocean landscape is alluring to adventure travelers and sun worshipers alike, and Marina Fiesta is within walking distance of many of the region’s top attractions. Active types can book surf lessons or rent a kayak; you can paddle out to Cabo’s iconic red arch at Land's End and spy on the resident sea lion colony, or bring a snorkel and mask and look for sea life near Neptune's Finger, a jagged rock formation that juts out from the water. If you’re looking for something less active, you can set up camp at Medano Beach; the iconic stretch of sand on the Sea of Cortez is only a seven-minute walk from the resort — and it’s one of the few that’s safe for swimming (the water is too rough on the Pacific side of the peninsula). World class golfing is on offer at the Country Club San Lucas, an 18-hole course set amid cacti and bougainvillea, and retail therapy abounds at the Luxury Avenue designer shopping mall, home to Gucci, Tiffany’s, Rolex and Fendi.
