How to Get There
Antonio is Very entertaining and accommodating
we had the preferred package on this trip but he took it a step farther even sent his trainee for more bud light after we drank the Oceania bar dry His English isn’t perfect but hey when you’re in Mexico you take what you can get and it make for a much more interesting conversation
I'll try to not just repeat the many other good reviews of this fine resort.
Stayed at Secrets PLC for six nights from 7-30-18 to 8-5-18. We had Preferred Club Swim-up rooms in building 6, right in front of the preferred club (rooms 6109 & 6110). We traveled with another couple and we are all 60-ish. I can’t imagine a better room location. Pretty much in the middle of almost everything. We all had an excellent vacation.
My wife and I had been to SPLC before for 3 nights with a group of 80 or so people. This time, it was much better.
We all agreed that the food at the resort was very good overall. The only sub-par meal was at the Patio (Mexican) and I have been reading that in these reviews for quite a while. I know how to fix the problem, if management is interested. The menu needs to be simplified and stop trying to be so fancy. Tourists want tacos, burritos, enchiladas, cheese dip, tamales … There really isn’t any of this on the menu. I know the kitchen can cook this stuff. I took the kitchen tour … they can cook. Just simplify the menu for tourists and the issue is fixed. I still can’t believe we asked for queso dip and were told that they didn’t have that. All of the other restaurants were very good.
We spent 1 day at the preferred quiet pool and that pool needs some shade. There are nice umbrellas all by the loungers but absolutely zero shade anywhere in the pool. If you are in that pool, you are in the sun, 100% of the time. I suggest a couple of elegant shade sails. They have them at many other Secrets resorts, they look amazing, they create shade and it installed properly, will not block the views. Management, please consider adding a couple of shade sails over the preferred pool.
We asked for housekeeping to service our rooms between 11 and 12 each day and they did a fantastic job for us. I think that one of the little perks that go with the Preferred Club rooms is better housekeeping staff.
The drinks were very good and pool waiter Abel is a very hard worker and he does a great job. Seems to be much better than some of the others. Also, bartender Christian was good at his job and always smiling, no matter how obnoxious some tourists can become.
The city tour to San Jose was very fun. We stayed and had a great Mexican dinner at Jazmin’s restaurant. It was slow, but absolutely worth the wait. Best guacamole we have ever tasted.
One night we went to a dinner cruise on the Caborey in downtown Cabo. It was an excellent little adventure with fantastic food, drink and entertainment. Highly recommended, it was our second time and it was just as much fun as the 1st time, three years ago.
We didn’t use the Spa this trip, but we heard good things. We didn’t play golf this trip, but we heard great things.
The entertainment was okay. The burlesque show was weak, the fire show, the water show and all of the live bands were good.
The outdoor bars close very early at this resort. I wish there was one outdoor bar that stayed open until 10:00 or so. If the Preferred Club rooms had full size bottles in the rooms like other resorts that would be an alternative to keeping a bar open. Just a thought.
We travel to Mexico several times a year and we go to lots of different all-inclusive resorts. We like the Secrets brand and will continue to enjoy this AM Resorts brand. I hope I didn’t come off as too critical in this review. We give it 4.75 stars this trip. We had a great time. We will be back. We will recommend this resort to others.
..To continue my review, we loved this resort, the grounds well looked after. The staff is so friendly, Miriam that worked so hard maintaining the grounds perfectly done by the preferred pool, also Blanca and Cesar, all these wonderful people had a smile on their faces. Cesar, our host at the prefered pool brought us cucumbers slices and cold towels to refresh us. Well, it made me feel like a queen. Blanca always had great suggestions for drnks and was unbelievable fast and efficient to serve us. WOW AND A BIG thanks to them, the 10 days we spent there were amazing!!!
My wife and I enjoyed A LOT our staying at the Secrets Los Cabos Resort. We stayed at the preferred section and the extra perks were not necessary but were great. The preferred pool, for example, was not crowded and had an incredible staff. They made us feel welcomed and special.
We have been to Cabo San Lucas many times however we decided a quieter more adult vacation and found Secrets! What a beautiful resort, Secrets is not only the beauty of the property but the staff and amenities. We chose the Preferred Club room due to a quite pool area along with "extras". A wonderful staff member Cesar Olvera took wonderful care of us. Cesar is an excellent example of an employee and truly an ambassador of Secrets Cabo. His friendless with us and made sure our every whim was taken care of.
In addition I would like to recognize another amazing employee Audel, a waiter in Ocean's. One word, incredible!!! His service, efficiency and wonderful personality was so appreciated. We are returning to Secrets Cabo in September and look forward to seeing both of these fine employees.
