How to Get There
We had visited the bar at Casa Natalia 5 years ago when in San Jose and have been looking SO forward to going back. So last night while at the Music festival with 3 other couples, I could hardly wait to take them!
1st disappointment was the level of the martini in the glass. It was like 2/3 full to the rim…. And I believe the prices have gone up about 20 %…. I was willing to set that aside because of the “boutique quaint” ambience…. We ordered a 2nd round as we had chosen the pick up the entire tab…
Server takes my credit card and then returns to the table explaining that my card didn’t work………. I was like ok maybe because I am in Mexico however have not had ONE problem as I know full well to alert my CC company before traveling abroad. So my husband hands them his PLATINUM AE (no limit) and the server return and says THIS one doesn’t work either! How embarrassing …. Our friends pulls out cash and pays the tab…. As we are walking out my husband talked to the “manager” who stated “OH BECAUSE OF THE FESTIVAL THE INTERNET is not working”.
Very disappointed that was not addressed prior to our ordering and then not explained to the entire table! I am not sure I will be able to talk him into ever going back ….
Beautiful rooms, friendly people and great service. Gorgeous courtyard with a lovely cascading pools against brightly painted walls and whimsical sculptures. Relaxing hammocks. Rooms are beautifully appointed – with flower petals on the bedspread when you arrive. We enjoyed delicious breakfast each morning, which was included for one of the rooms, excellent eggs benedict, French toast, yogurt parfait and eggs.
We got a 15% discount at dinner at their great restaurant – (see review for Mi Cocina).
Both days we used the beach club, which had great loungers under the shade (or sun) and beautiful secluded cove for swimming. One day we walked over to the next beach, which was great for walking but not safe for swimming. They waived the 500 peso/person minimum (maybe because it wasn't high season?) which made it that much nicer to take advantage of the easy access to yummy lunches and fun drinks,
We spend a lovely and quiet weekend at Casa Natalia in their Spa Suite.
We loved how peaceful it was and how convenient was the location as we were able to walk downtown San Jose at night and enjoy the vibe of the Plaza in front.
The staff was really attentive and the food at Mi Cocina was delicious. A must try for boutique hotel lovers.
We booked two rooms and stayed two nights. Perfect hotel right on the square. Rooms were large, bright and very clean. Bathrooms were very spacious, great shower and lots of storage space. The king bed was comfortable, firm and very clean. The living space had a small fridge, TV with cable and comfy sofa and chair. The veranda right off the living space was very cool with chairs and table -- and overlooked the pool too. We hung out by the pool the first morning. The food from the restaurant was very good. Best of all was the service -- everyone was warm, inviting, courteous and friendly -- a big shout out to Cesar for taking such great care of us all!
Super cute boutique hotel. Details made with love. Super nice staff. My friends arrived a day before me and on request they put us across the hall from each other.
Spacious room with private patio. My nephew actually slept in the hammock on the patio. Great pool. Decorated my bed on arrival for my birthday.
