Best surf hotel in Cabo
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Cabo Surf Hotel sits right in front of 2 of the best surf breaks in the area. Everything here is wonderful, including the Front Desk staff, Seven Seas Restaurant staff, and the Surf School/Rental staff.
The rooms are nicely appointed, clean and have everything you could need.

Wonderful hotel with awesome views

Hotel rooms were great and we loved the view of the beach from our balcony... So peaceful and serene! Staff was very attentive and all of our needs were always taken care of. Spa services were excellent too! We would definitely come back!
WiFi was spotty and could be improved upon though.

We love coming to this place. The food and view is wonderful. Service is awesome. You even get to see the local Iguanas come out and say hi. Love it!!! We come back every year to sit and relax with a view that makes your day feel like never leaving.

Simply fantastic!!!!

This place has something for everyone. STUNNING ocean views right on a longboard break, a restaurant, lawn games, 2 infinity pools, 2 hot tubs, absolutely AWESOME staff that are SO attentive and SO friendly....I could go on and on. Your biggest decision will be whether or not to go for a surf, a swim, a paddle, or to just sit by the pool and read with a cocktail (delivered poolside, of course). This place is the ideal spot for people seeking a tranquil Mexico experience meant 100% for unwinding and relaxation. If you have any need at all just ask the front desk- they are so helpful! The only thing that could be better is the very weak and inconsistent Wifi. You’ll need to use your phone as a hotspot if you want to surf the web. Oh! And more modest Mexican food on the menu...tacos would be great. :) It’s a very small price to pay for such a perfect vacation spot. Highly recommended!

Terrible service

We had a good time here mainly because of the weather and the surf. It's a great spot for learning and my wife is still in that phase so I was able to have some fun lessons with her but overall it was pretty overcrowded in the water and the locals are quite hostile. They will cut you off and utter sly insults at you in the lineup just for being a tourist.
The general vibe here is somewhat less than friendly. You're paying for the location and that's about it really. The rooms are nice enough but our bed was stiff and they don't provide proper pillows for sleeping only the large decorative ones that hurt your neck when you try to sleep on them because they are too hard and thick (maybe just byo pillows if you've already booked this place)

The staff here are just about welcoming enough to get buy without any major complaints on the spot but I have to say that if they were any more lazy they'd be asleep. If you want to get anything done here from renting a board to ordering a drink be prepared to explain your self multiple times and be kept waiting for uncomfortable lengths of time. imho They'd be better off just renting this place out as air bnb rooms and getting rid of the service and restaurant all together. We ate at Flora Farms down the road which is amazing and makes Cabo Surf feel like you've taken a time machine back to the worst part of eating out in the 1990s. Greasy uninventive, basic food on offer. The kind of menu that feels like it hasn't been updated in a while and perhaps the owners haven't bothered trying any of the dishes out because they're sub par for what you're paying and compared to some of the more modern places that Cabo has to offer.

If you're partial to a good traditional cocktail don't bother ordering one here because they don't know how to make them and are likely to overcharge you for them. I was charged $40usd for a negroni that I had to explain to the bar tender how to make. When I questioned them about the bill the two guys behind the bar mumbled to each other in Spanish and had a bit of a giggle to themselves before refusing to adjust the price. I found this to be really rude and unsettling. I'll pay $40 for a cocktail if it's out of this world and beautifully crafted but when you're just dropping 3 ingredients into a cup and not even bothering to stir it you will find me quite offended.

Lastly we had renter a board from Costa Azul surf shop and were storing it in the racks they have provided for guest's boards. Someone stole the leash from our board and when we brought it to the attention of the staff they acted like they couldn't care less. Zero recourse for theft here so be warned.
