How to Get There
The Sports Bar at the Grand Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar is always busy during the basketball tournaments. We walked in and the waiter Fernando Welcomed by my first name. He also knew our last names. What made it so remarkable is that we haven’t seen him since last year. What great customer service!!!
Even with a very full house, he was excellent and efficient. We watched as he brought menus, took orders and delivered food without a single mistake.
So of the customers were a little drunk 🥴 but he handed them smoothly.
The food was good and served quickly. Fernando was able to get back to our table several times to check on us. The restaurant was packed but he handeled smoothly. Sheraton should be proud of Fernando.
Really, no complaints whatsoever - other than the check-in experience and an overly aggressive timeshare agent. I'm checking in to the hotel and if I say that I'm not interested and never will be, then that should be satisfactory. Mind you, this wasn't on a tour that we signed up for. This was because the frontdesk clerk directed us to hear after we received our room keys, making it sound like it was a mandatory stop to learn abou the resort. We figured she would cover the layout and facilities and we'd be on our way. We were wrong.
Apart from that, we had a great stay - even though the same woman pounced on me the next day when I had to stop by the desk to ask for an extra key - the food was decent quality and a good selection. The restaurants were varied enough to keep lunch interesting, and the drinks were decent. A little on the expensive side for Mexico, but you are paying resort prices.
Fitness center was very good. Nice selection of well maintained equipment.
Pools were great and perfect temperature. Beach was nice, but with the surf it is definitely not a swimming beach.
The best part was the view from our room, and the room itself. We were in a 3 bedroom, two story room in building 26 with one other couple. It was incredible to lay in bed in the morning and watch the whales wander by. The rooms are very quiet. Shower had great water pressure, and they were kept spotless by the cleaners. The only complaint on the room was that the safe didn't work regularly. I tried to get it fixed, but gave up as it wasn't totally necessary to use.
All in all, a great stay. I'd definitely recommend, but just stay away from the timeshare agents (unless that interests you) at check-in.
Make dinner reservations as waits can be lengthy. All areas are very nice and in a beautiful setting. While we were there they were preparing for the BMW International Golf Final tournament but service was still impeccable!
We enjoyed five days and four nights at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos. Super vacation. The room was excellent, and was cleaned daily, including fresh sheets daily. The meals were awesome, with a different theme nightly--Italian night, Gauch (Argentina) night, etc.
Poolside service was plentiful, and the pools are very clean and well maintained.
Overall, just a perfect vacation. We'll be back.
We stayed for five nights at this beautiful resort, and we loved it. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have everything to cover your needs. The best thing at this hotel was the food/room service. There was a special chef whose name is Fernando Balderas and makes food at Tomatoes restaurant. He offered to make us Indian food every day of our stay. He made great Indian food and we enjoyed his cooking. He made us gourmet french toast and mango lassi's every morning. Moving on from this topic, I would also like to discuss the way the workers talk to you there. They are extremely kind and will go to any extent to make you feel "at home". My whole family loved the low prices that the hotel gives you. At Sheraton, there are options to get a two-floor room, like us. The area is very safe. I let my daughter go alone to our hotel room and she's only 10. My family and I had a great time on this vacation. If your thinking of going on a trip soon go to Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar and don't forget to ask for Fernando Balderas, an amazing chef.
