How to Get There
Recently traveled to Cabo and stayed at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar. Beautiful place. What truly made the Sheraton and the entire Cabo experience outstanding was the courtesy, helpfulness and genuine kindness that all employees and the local community demonstrated day to day. The hotel is beautiful, clean and nicely manicured. Shout out to Irvin who provided us with outstanding service by providing us with so many outstanding recommendations for places to eat and things to do and ensuring our stay at the Sheraton was an outstanding experience. Shout out also to Fernanda who was such a sweet and kind host. I will most certainly stay here again.
We stayed at this Sheraton for 7 nights in August 2019. As a Lifetime Titanium member, we used our annual Suite Night Rewards to request an upgrade to a suite. We were notified 5 days in advance that we had been upgraded. Upon arrival, we met Manny, the Bonvoy Ambassador, who had contacted us beforehand via email. Manny escorted us to our beautiful, corner, oceanfront suite to ensure we were pleased with the upgrade. The suite, with a huge wrap-around balcony and a small kitchen, was outstanding! Manny was very friendly and personable. He greeted us throughout our stay and made sure everything was perfect.
As others have noted, the beach here is not for swimming as the wave action and undertow is hazardous (black flag the entire time we were there). This did not affect us as we used our balcony and the pool area to enjoy the perfect view of the ocean and the outstanding weather. Actually, the constant waves were mesmerizing to watch and listen to, especially around sunset.
Being Titanium, we chose the breakfast buffet option at Tomatoes as our welcoming gift rather than points. The breakfast, valued at USD$30 each, was outstanding with made-to-order eggs/omelets, various hot food selections (including Mexican entrees), as well as sections for fruit, cereal, yogurt, vegetables, juices, and breads/pastries. It even included make-your-own bloody mary and champagne drinks.
We enjoyed several light meals at Las Sirenas by the pool. Their Baja fish tacos, shrimp sopa tacos, and ceviche were all delicious! They also offer happy hour, with half-price drinks, from 1100-1200 and 1600-1700. Their menu, however, is reduced between 1700 and their closing ~ 1900.
The hotel offers a shuttle that will take you from the property to the Paraiso Mall at the Los Cabos Marina for USD$12 per person, one-way.
The Sheraton shares the property with the Hacienda del Mar vacation villas -- the hotel is on the east side while the villas are on the west side of the property. The vacation villas have their own set of restaurants and a small, convenience store that allow you to charge to your room. The entire property is non-cash.
All the Sheraton personnel, from Manny and the front desk, the waitstaff, the housekeepers to the bellmen were extremely friendly and helpful and wanted to ensure that your stay was wonderful!
I would suggest that the Sheraton consider adding a few more items to the Las Sirenas menu, such as fresh seafood dishes/fish sandwiches, and keeping it open longer at night in order to provide more evening dining options for those not wanting to leave the property or indulging in the nightly buffets offered at Tomatoes or the upscale dining in De Cortez.
The Sheraton is an amazing property. We had a beautiful ocean front room. The staff here are attentive and professional, Irvin at the front desk is welcoming and very helpful. The restaurantes are delicious. We enjoyed Tomates Resturant the most, Adelina, Reyna and Cindy welcome you and treat you like royalty. I experienced this amazing customer service each time I was there. Adelina went above and beyond to make each visit memorable. Service with class and a smile. The Argentinian themed buffet was beyond delicious. For breakfast you can enjoy the buffet or order from the menus. We will be returning soon.
