What We Love

  • Location steps from Land's End and Cabo's famous natural rock arch formation
  • Whale-watching from the swimming pool
  • Sleeping in the Ridge wing, where rooms come with eagle-eye views of the marina and sea
  • Getting a treatment at the Thalasso Spa
  • A scale in the bellboy area makes pre-airport luggage weighing (and repacking if necessary) a breeze

  • The activities desk can day excursions; the resort has its own fleet of boats
  • You may be given the timeshare purchase pitch after checking in; just say no and you'll be left alone
  • Child-friendly, with babysitting and a kids club with programs for various ages

Lovely resort in a great location
Reviewed 9 hours ago

This was our 4th visit to Playa Grande and we still enjoy it. Staff is always welcoming and friendly, although, like at most resorts in Cabo you need to navigate the gauntlet of timeshare hawkers.

The rooms are spacious and 4 in our room at The Ridge was very comfortable and could easily have housed 6. Food options are plentiful, but we don’t use the all-inclusive option because we like to spend time in town and around the marina - which is easy walking distance.

We like The Ridge but it is a very far walk from the main lobby and the larger pools on the main level.

We did attend the 4th of July beach party and had fun, but the food wasn’t that great. The food is better when you simply eat at their restaurants. We did truly enjoy the entertainment and the fireworks however.

Hint: when staying at The Ridge, look for the access to the outside of the resort near the Puerto San Lucas restaurant.

We will be back.

Amazing staff and beautiful resort made for a great Cabo trip!

Everything from beginning to end of our trip to Cabo at the Playa Grande Resort was truly amazing. The hotel is beautiful and very up kept! We stayed at the Ridge with a view of the Marina and just had the best time. The hotel staff I can not not say enough, they were very friendly and always asking us if we needed anything to let them know. I'd like to THANK the following staff members at Playa Grande for their outstanding customer service which made for a wonderful trip! Housekeeping: Graceila and Paula, Servers: Jonathan and Ofelia, Front Dest: Carolina and the Entertainment Staff: Roberto and the whole crew! I would defintely recommend this hotel for a couples get away or for a family, they accomodate both! Thank you again Playa Grande for such a great trip, we will defintely be returning next year!

An amazing property! Exceeded our expectations and was definitely ‘as advertised.’ The room was beautiful, the property is well maintained, food was excellent and staff was super friendly. Would definitely go back.

First visit to Cabo, but not the last
Reviewed 3 days ago

My husband surprised me with a surprise birthday trip to Cabo. We stayed at the Playa Grande Resort and loved everything about it. From the time we arrived, the staff treated us warmly and they were eager to attend to our every need.

Our room was spacious and clean. I'm a stickler for towels and there were plenty of them. There was a kitchen equipped with everything you could want if you like to cook, but we didn't. The food was first-rate in all three of the restaurants we visited and the prices were appropriate. We also enjoyed room service one night.

The entertainment staff engaged us in a fun way-- they were very personable and seemed to really care about us having a good time. Make sure to attend the Fiesta if it is offered! We enjoyed the spa, just wish we'd had more time to utilize the fitness center.

The pools and the beach were worth the trip alone! Although many of the staffers tried to get us to attend a timeshare presentation, they were never pushy. Before we left, we were already trying to figure out when we can visit again.

Playa Grande is perfect for a girlfriends' getaway, couples' trip, wedding, honeymoon, retirees' vacation, family reunion, company retreat, etc. Just so much to do. So little time!!

Timeshare resort in a beautiful setting with all the trappings including the hard sell to buy
Reviewed 4 days ago

Rooms were nice, food okay, drinks were weak, activities constant, setting gorgeous, bedding comfortable, location near town and convenient. So, we already gave them more than $200 a night without the all inclusive. Did they really have to try so hard to sell us a timeshare? We had to say no to sales presentations numerous times. Enough already.
