Jay-Z, Chelsea Handler, and Peyton Manning have all descended upon this cushy cliff-top kingdom, so it’s no surprise that superior service—long a hallmark of the California-based Auberge group, which starts with gratis shoulder massages at check-in—plays a starring role. The secluded setting tucked between two atmospheric bluffs only adds to the exclusivity factor, and there are plenty of private pockets to choose from to lounge your stay away, including cabanas on Cabo San Luca’s only private beach, the hammocks and balcony-set Jacuzzis in your seashell-hued casita, or one of the steam caves at the showstopper of a spa. The resort’s close proximity to Punta Ballena means you’re in prime whale-watching territory, helped by the Nikon binoculars deposited in every room (in the winter months, you’ll spy humpbacks). The six on-site eateries, which range from a swim-up cantina, a ceviche bar, and an Argentinian-inspired seafood restaurant with delicious ocean views, are all top-notch. Though it’s equally tempting to reach for your in-room tablet and swiftly summon a squash blossom frittata from the comfort of your airy verandah.
In the Area
The property is a 30-minute drive from the San Jose Del Cabo International Airport—for a surcharge, the resort can arrange for shuttle service for up to six guests. While the hotel’s private, albeit rocky, beach doesn’t disappoint, you’re also within easy reach of Playa Monumento, a hotspot for the surf set, and the Cabo del Sol Gulf Club, comprising a quartet of championship courses. And though you’re just four miles from the nightlife of Cabo San Lucas, cab rides can be exorbitant—opt for beachside tequila tastings, sunset cocktails at the lounge bar, or in-room margarita delivery at the resort instead.
How to Get There
The review is based on UNIT 903
4br+4bth unit with outdoor Jacuzzi on the deck:
Unit was A+
Property was A+.
Jorge as our concierge was 10+
Comments: The 2 front bedrooms are almost identical. So there are 2 bedrooms with king beds (huge bathrooms) ocean views. The other 2 bedrooms are a non-ocean views, one king bedroom and a 4th bedroom with 2 queen beds.
House cleaning mopped the paver floors everyday. I like that..
The deck is covered and huge, If I had to guess, probably 1000 square feet. 4 chase chairs, 2 club chairs, outdoor dining table for 8 and a small chase outside of one of the master bedrooms. That is my best guess, I could be off a chair here or there.
Modern LED T.V's, main T.V. had great sounding Bose soundbar. Direct T.V in English and Spanish.. I was able to watch the NBA playoff games. They covered Seattle and Los Angeles local channels.
Jorge and the team picked up a week load of "stuff" at Costco prior to our arrival and it was all loaded when we got into our room.
The kids got "sick" in town and Jorge got a doctor out to the room in about 50 minutes. Next day they were back in the game at 90%.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like a king and a queen. When we arrived somebody greeted us with cool drinks and Paula who was our concierge told us that she had upgraded us to one of the best casitas with the best view available! She opens the door to our casita and my husband and I were in such shock that we were speechless all we could keep saying was “wow“. Our casita had a living area with very nice furniture and a very large porch with a daybed and our own hot tub that was an infinity hot tub looking over the ocean . Shortly after we settled in there was a knock on the door and the general manager had sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and a personalized note wishing us a happy two year anniversary. After that we had walked into our bathroom and on the bathtub was a cute mirage somebody had drawn of babies and clouds saying “happy baby moon”. Both of these actions brought tears to our eyes. They have several adult pools one of them has a swim up bar. They have several family pools for kids to play in that is shallow and easy to get into. They have nice restaurant options over looking the sea for a romantic dinner breakfast or lunch. Lots of daybeds to rent and there are two two-story Bungalos on the beach that you can rent and enjoy the view of the ocean in the shade . Overall our place was so nice that we canceled a trip to go to a beach up north just to stay inside our room. Plenty of pictures are on my Instagram at Kyli momma. Oh and we also had a spa day because they were having a special on couples massages and it was well worth it the masseuses know exactly what they’re doing they have extensive knowledge of anatomy (and I’m 8 months pregnant) and know just how to release all your knots I highly recommend a spa day at Esperanza . you are to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment so you can immerse your body into a cold water tub and then a hot tub and a steam room and then a shower after the massage. they have blowdryers in the spa for you,a facemask, deodorant, face wash . This resort was so nice, thoughtful and beautiful. Flowers everywhere and smiling faces everywhere. Beautiful pools and restaurants, I mean I could go on and on.
This is the epitome of excellence on all fronts. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is amazing. The views are one-of-a-kind. The service is unparalleled. I'd never stayed in such a nice place before and everything was perfect. They truly made a personalized effort to ensure everyone was taken care of. This will certainly be a place we visit again (hopefully soon!).
We love Esperanza! We travel all over the world for business but come to Cabo to relax! We have never been disappointed at Esperanza! The rooms are always more than we expect...beautiful decor...everything in perfect condition...welcome snack/beverages on arrival and fun treats on other occasions...plunge pool...gorgeous views! The food/drink options are always what we want...great breakfast buffet or menu...delicious options at the pool...Cocina del Mar gourmet choices for dinner...again all with perfect views!! The pool (adult) is our favorite spot...great service all day, no struggle to find a good spot for the day, beautiful from morning to night...really fun people to meet! We rarely, if ever, leave the resort during our stay! No need to! We have everything needed to completely relax and enjoy our time. We're always happy here...except when it's time to leave! We live in a beach town so we are at the beach often, but there is something special about this location! Looking forward to our next trip back already!
When booking this hotel, I knew I was going to receive a large dent in my pocket, and therefore did a bit of research before committing to see if it is actually worth it. I’m so glad I took the advice of reviews on Tripadvisor and can wholeheartedly state that it is. Yes, it will cost you an absolute fortune, but it’s worth every penny.
From the service, to the SPA, to the Property to the food, everything is just so and 100% 5 star. Of course there are always little niggles, here and there, but those just get forgotten as everything else is just so good.
I can not recommend enough. Any avid traveller must experience this destination at least once in their life. Book now.
