How to Get There
If you were just to drive past this you wouldn't see much but once you are inside it is a great resort, the inside is very nice but what is spectacular is where this is located on the beach and the beach itself, it is phenomenal. I read plenty of reviews before staying here, the good and the bad, I would say the bad are rare instances and or very picky people, I base my reviews on what I get for what I pay and this was worth every cent. Nice pool with a swim up bar and a Jacuzzi to relax in. It is not the party place of its sister hotel next door so if you want to stay at a party place look at that one, if you want relaxation stay at this one. The staff was great, special thanks to Horacio for the extra attention, kind service and now friendship.
I saw a few noise complaints posted about this resort about the neighboring businesses but we didn't hear anything and we were on the ground floor.
If you don't mind walking a little, town is a walkable distance, we did it daily. They had a nice 4th of July celebration/party.
Everyone member of the staff was very friendly, polite, respectful and helpful.
Would stay here again on a return visit.
Our visit was July of 2017, posting late and doesn't offer 2017 dates.
Liliana did a great job of helping us through the entire process, including even scheduling the taxi from/to the airport. I highly recommend her for your trip. I will certainly use her again in the future.
Great location on Medano Beach, have The Office and Mango Deck right there in front of the resort, plenty of other beach bars all around, the marina is an easy walk down the beach, and the glass bottom boats are right there to take you to Lovers Beach!
The pool and enjoyment area at Casa Dorada is really great and the service is always easy to find and very friendly. Highly recommend Casa Dorada!
Overall, the our stay at the Casa Dorada, Los Cabos was lovely and situated on one of the only swimming beaches in Cabo. This was a HUGE plus since we've stayed at many hotels in Cabo and most don't have a beach.
In terms of location, the beach is excellent. However, it is located next to/on top of Mango Deck, a notorious party spot. This means that there will always be music blasting all day and night with tons of drunk people everywhere. It's a bit disruptive if you're not prepared for it. That being said, we hung out on the far other end of the property so we stayed clear of the majority of the sound and debauchery.
Our room was large with a big bedroom and separate living area (Junior Suite). The best feature was the outdoor patio with comfortable seating.
The service was overall average. We had some confusion around check in and the front desk in general, but overall, the rest of the staff was very kind and always trying to help. Tipping at this resort also went a long way to ingratiate us with the staff. Tipping was clearly expected, unlike many of the all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed at in the surrounding area.
Pro tip: Take out cash before you get to Cabo. We always take between 50-100 USD depending on the length of a trip just in tip money. Trust me, you’ll notice a difference in service at some of these resorts.
For those who aren't as into the beach, the hotel has a beautiful pool overlooking Medano beach and full poolside service.
The property is within walking distance to a number of fantastic restaurants and bars, which is fun as you get to explore the surrounding area. They also have a great happy hour (buy 1 get 1 free!) at the beach/pool in the afternoons.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The prices are reasonable enough that you don't yearn for the all-inclusive experience when you are on property. The rooms are a great size and you can really enjoy and relax on your large outdoor patio. For a full review, check out our blog post at voyagerguru . com
Casa Dorada is a wonderful place to vacation. We honeymooned there and they were gracious and lovely in every way. While near a loud bar, it is also close enough to great restaurants and the marina to walk if you are inclined. There is currently a bit of construction a block away but it is not on Casa Dorada’s property so they have no control over it. Just mentioning it in case you are looking for quiet. You certainly can find it here, just not near the pool bar or Mango Deck - stay further down toward the north end where the music is more subtle. But if you want a party, you can have that, too! It’s both large enough to provide for the needs of many and small enough to cater and provide shorter walks if you don’t want to use a map to find the pool or beach or restaurant! While it can be a challenge to find a lounge chair at certain times, the staff are very helpful and willing to move chairs and umbrellas to accommodate your needs. All the staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. While this is a timeshare, we politely explained our time was intended for our honeymoon and that was the end of the conversation- no high pressure tactics as I have experienced elsewhere, so very much appreciated this time. Great staff, great location, and great food and drink - highly recommend!
