Breathless has a prime spot on Medano Beach, a safe and—rare for Cabo—swimmable beach at the very southern tip of the peninsula. In addition to meals, snacks, and beverages (alcoholic and otherwise) being included in the room rate, there are plenty of other thoughtful extras like morning poolside yoga instruction, tequila tastings, and group activities that run the gamut from pole dancing lessons to giant Jenga games. All of the 169 rooms are spacious suites, and each has a large bathroom with double sinks, a complimentary mini-bar (refreshed daily), and its own furnished balcony with views of either the ocean or the nearby marina. The resort mostly draws guests in their 30s and 40s—down to party, but not raging like the college set that heads to Cabo for spring break— hence the “quiet” pool, which is chilled out and DJ-free. There are 12 restaurants and bars, including poolside and beachside bars, although drinks at some, like the sophisticated tequila bar La Biblioteca, aren’t included in the room rate (we’d suggest splurging on them anyway).
In the Area
With swimmable Medano Beach directly in front of the hotel and the town immediately behind it, there’s no lack of things to keep you busy. Stroll down the boardwalk, which is crowded with bars, restaurants, and shops, or work off the effect of all those margaritas with parasailing, scuba diving, zip lining or flyboarding excursions, all of which can be booked through the hotel. Party spots like Cabo Wabo Cantina and The Nowhere Bar (and many, many more) are walking distance from Breathless. Shoppers can head to Puerto Paraiso, a massive mall half a mile away, to restock their supplies of flip-flops and bikinis.
How to Get There
I would rate this place as 5 star for food, service, alcohol and location. Stuff is very friendly and helpful: Gilberto (lifeguard at the beach), Valentine (bartender at Xhale club), Onhel (server at Spumante restaurant) and many other great people. In our opinion food is more than just amazing, IT IS GOURMET. For example food in italian resultant Spumante is better then in many italian restraints here in Canada, in our opinion.
Breathless serves lots of fresh sea food, our favourites were catch of the day: Red Snapper, Octopus and Tuna stake or shrimps tartar. You can order any cocktail you like, so we went to internet found some interesting recipes and bartender from Xhale club and Quite pool was happy to prepare it for us.
The Room we stayed was huge and contemporary, facing marina. You could alway see Sea Lions from your the balcony especially in the evening time which was unique.
THE ONLY CON for us was MUSIC AT PARTY POOL there were lots of lots of lots of hiphop/ rnb which was annoying so we didn't stay long there and usually went to the beach. Compare to BREATHLESS RIVIERA MAYA where it has thematic parties with house music every Tuesday and Thursday (like in Vegas Encore Beach Club, Drais beach club) Cabo only plays hiphop, top 40 and little bit of house. Your stuff mixing this different styles of music very poorly during the DJ set like country style DJs not even close to Riviera Cancun or Vegas.
You need to do something with it, it looks unprofessional. Also the music you played repeat every time, we heart same song 10-15 times a day...with so big variety of songs why place only same staff every day like broken radio. I believe your Dj Alonso doesn't know what he is doing. May be you need to send him to Breathless Riviera or Vegas to learn how play and mix music and how to create theme parties?
Why not to make same house/ dance parties on Tuesday and Thursday like in Riviera Maya with animation and etc? And play hiphop/rnb every other days?
Also animation team was only one day for OUR 7 DAYS STAY and they dance for a short time...in riviera maya animation team such dancers and poll dancers were 2-3 days and they perform longer. Also BREATHLESS RIVIERA had DJ Chaser for a few days for theme parties (he didn't play broken radio music), he is Mexican and he is real professional (he plays different music) compare to your DJ Alonso..currently he performs in Acapulco Beach Club…..may be you can hire someone else like Dj Chaser?
Valenton - the exhale club bartender, was one of the best bartenders I have ever had. He was great all around. If you want the best drinks at breathless, give him a visit. Be sure to also go to exhale club for great snacks with the walk to and from the pool.
I had the best time at Breathless Cabo!! I have to give a HUGE shout out to the bartender in the Xhale Club "Irvin" He was amazing. He was very focus on ensuring that my stay was an awesome one. Every time I walked into the Xhale Club he remembered the drink that I like... He really paid attention to detail! Thank You Irvin! The resort was amazing, I really enjoyed the shows, the food was great. I will sure to come back!
