Breathless has a prime spot on Medano Beach, a safe and—rare for Cabo—swimmable beach at the very southern tip of the peninsula. In addition to meals, snacks, and beverages (alcoholic and otherwise) being included in the room rate, there are plenty of other thoughtful extras like morning poolside yoga instruction, tequila tastings, and group activities that run the gamut from pole dancing lessons to giant Jenga games. All of the 169 rooms are spacious suites, and each has a large bathroom with double sinks, a complimentary mini-bar (refreshed daily), and its own furnished balcony with views of either the ocean or the nearby marina. The resort mostly draws guests in their 30s and 40s—down to party, but not raging like the college set that heads to Cabo for spring break— hence the “quiet” pool, which is chilled out and DJ-free. There are 12 restaurants and bars, including poolside and beachside bars, although drinks at some, like the sophisticated tequila bar La Biblioteca, aren’t included in the room rate (we’d suggest splurging on them anyway).
In the Area
With swimmable Medano Beach directly in front of the hotel and the town immediately behind it, there’s no lack of things to keep you busy. Stroll down the boardwalk, which is crowded with bars, restaurants, and shops, or work off the effect of all those margaritas with parasailing, scuba diving, zip lining or flyboarding excursions, all of which can be booked through the hotel. Party spots like Cabo Wabo Cantina and The Nowhere Bar (and many, many more) are walking distance from Breathless. Shoppers can head to Puerto Paraiso, a massive mall half a mile away, to restock their supplies of flip-flops and bikinis.
How to Get There
The rooms and the views are excellent. The breakfast restaurant in exhale is good, the Italian restaurant is the best. Don’t bother going to the others. Entertainment was creepy. We had fun, just wish we didn’t have to go outside the hotel for food and entertainment.
We came across this pool party and it was so awesome! $100 (USD) per person includes unlimited food/drinks, which was absolutely amazing. The view from the pool is breath taking!! The music was good and there were plenty of games it was super fun. The service was great (Hector) was our server and he was super attentive. He even brought out a little dessert when my mom told him it was my birthday! Super nice of him! I would definitely come back again!
I celebrated my birthday at Breathless Cabo recently and had a great time but not sure I would recommend this resort solely based on the food and drink LOL. We tried all 4 of the restaurants along the beach and had literally the same experience at each one on different days...extremely slow service, dishes not coming out at the right times for the whole party, very small portions, and overall just unimpressive. Dinner took 2 hours of waiting around even when it was not busy! The best place, in my opinion was the Spoons buffet and breakfast was the highlight for me. Everyone at the resort we talked to raved about the room service being quick and good so that is another saving grace for this property. The drinks were not very tasty and watered down. Although the resort boasts "top shelf" liquor, my shots of belvedere vodka tasted like rubbing alcohol and I can say 100% that was not Belvedere. I don't mean to bash the place as I think the rooms were nice, I like the overall decor of the place, the 2nd floor pool was great, and I enjoyed the gym and yoga classes. I with they would just have some better Mexican food and not try so hard to do Italian, Mediterannean, etc.
This resort has breathtaking views of the Marina, and impecable service. You are always greeted with a smile (Valentin Bartender), and the food exceeds all expectations. You must attend a foam party at the pool that looks over the arches. We never wanted to leave!
The location is great, the rooms clean and nice. The pool got pretty crowded when they let the Cruise passengers come over for their day passes. But the disappointment was the food. One restaurant called "Bites" had some good items. The eggs benedict there was great. I ate multiple breakfasts there as other places were not very good at all. I would go back if I could drop the food & beverage part of the deal.
