Breathless has a prime spot on Medano Beach, a safe and—rare for Cabo—swimmable beach at the very southern tip of the peninsula. In addition to meals, snacks, and beverages (alcoholic and otherwise) being included in the room rate, there are plenty of other thoughtful extras like morning poolside yoga instruction, tequila tastings, and group activities that run the gamut from pole dancing lessons to giant Jenga games. All of the 169 rooms are spacious suites, and each has a large bathroom with double sinks, a complimentary mini-bar (refreshed daily), and its own furnished balcony with views of either the ocean or the nearby marina. The resort mostly draws guests in their 30s and 40s—down to party, but not raging like the college set that heads to Cabo for spring break— hence the “quiet” pool, which is chilled out and DJ-free. There are 12 restaurants and bars, including poolside and beachside bars, although drinks at some, like the sophisticated tequila bar La Biblioteca, aren’t included in the room rate (we’d suggest splurging on them anyway).
In the Area
With swimmable Medano Beach directly in front of the hotel and the town immediately behind it, there’s no lack of things to keep you busy. Stroll down the boardwalk, which is crowded with bars, restaurants, and shops, or work off the effect of all those margaritas with parasailing, scuba diving, zip lining or flyboarding excursions, all of which can be booked through the hotel. Party spots like Cabo Wabo Cantina and The Nowhere Bar (and many, many more) are walking distance from Breathless. Shoppers can head to Puerto Paraiso, a massive mall half a mile away, to restock their supplies of flip-flops and bikinis.
How to Get There
This place was just opened this year, and while they have some kinks to work out, this will be the spot for my annual guys fishing trip. The food is good, but it takes a while, but with some premium whiskey, I can wait. The older guys in the group were not so much interested in the nightly rooftop night club, or the pool party that was much like a college frat scene, but the rest of us enjoyed it very much. You may not even need to go downtown to go to the bars since the drinks are included and the DJ was just as good. The suites were spacious and to order room service you use a tablet in your room. This was a great trip. My wife and I travel to Mexico approximately 4-6 times per year and I will bring her back here.
13 of us stayed at Breathless in December. We had an AMAZING TIME! Great food...drinks were on point...gorgeous views! Staff was spectacular. Best part, dancing elves pool party with foam in December!!
This resort had a great location with ability to swim and snorkel in water. The views were stellar and location to shopping and the marina priceless. Our pool attendee Allen was amazing. He got to know us extremely fast and was very attentive. He ensured we knew when he was taking a break or day off. Adrian was our waiter at the restaurants and his attention and care of us made us feel amazing. We couldn't have asked for better service.
This is resort has a wonderful location - right on the marina. It doesn't get much better than this! The food was very average, but you are on the marina so take a walk down the boardwalk for some authentic Mexican dishes. Vacationing at Secrets Resorts in Puerto Vallarta, Costa Rica and also Cancun has me a bit spoiled so this was a venture from what I have grown accustomed to. The resort restaurant that I did enjoy was Fish Nets. The spectacular show making the Mexican coffee was the highlight. Ordered room service daily and it didn't disappoint. As others have mentioned, the drinks were not good at all! How do you go to Mexico and not have a decent Margarita?? It was so bad, I asked for an extra shot of Gran Marnier. Server brought the most disgusting syrup that I still don't know what that was. :( So the best bet is to just take your drink straight, no mixer. The pool was fun, the beach was amazing. This has to be the perfect time to see water so clear as to see small fish in waste deep water. With all being said, I had a nice time and would return. I would hope the drinks get better thou..
This hotel is very nice and possible the best location in Cabo. The rooms are nice and room service outstanding quick polite and courteous. They have tablets in the room which makes it real easy to order any (food, drink) at virtually any time. 2 pools one quite and one party so whatever your mood they gotta covered.
Rooms are located on the Marina side which is nice to watch the boats come and go especially at night when the party cruises leave al lite up.
The staff are genuinely real nice are are most happy to accommodate your wishes. Tipping can be a bit expensive but service and quality of hotel in most cases are worth it.
Only complaint I have is in check the couple we were with got a free room upgrade and we were not offered the same ?
Would definitely return but with new hotels springing up in Cabo they may have to lower their price a bit expensive.!if your thinking of booking give it a shot will not be disappointed
