Set on eight manicured acres on Long Island, the 145-room, neoclassical Inn at Fox Hollow is a quiet retreat just an hour’s drive from Manhattan. Trickling waterfalls and tranquil gardens dot the scenic grounds, while stone fireplaces, hardwood floors and charming European decor add warmth and elegance indoors. Although built in 2002, the inn conjures a bygone era of opulence, but it also provides such modern comforts as a concierge, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Most suites have full kitchens (complete with dishwashers and Keurig coffeemakers), iHome docking stations, soaking tubs and European bath products. The Vintage 25 bar and lounge opened in 2013 and serves limited production wines from around the world, with outdoor seating and access to the courtyard.
In the Area
If you need to de-stress or just want to pamper yourself, the lavish Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden is just a block away. Next door to the inn is the Volpe restaurant, which serves the award-winning Italian cuisine of the Scotto brothers. For outdoor concerts in the summer months, head over to Jones Beach Theater, about a 20-minute drive away, where the tunes come with gorgeous water views. Wine aficionados can reach the North Fork, the hub of Long Island’s wine country, in less than an hour. Another popular attraction is the Cradle of Aviation Museum, about 15 minutes away. The inn is also surrounded by Gold Coast mansions and beaches, golf courses, shopping and restaurants.
How to Get There
The hotel is beautiful. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The pool is very nice. When I went to bed the first night I was there I found a bug in my bed. Not sure what kind of bug, but it really freaked me out. Upon further inspection of the bed, I found so much dust under and around the mattress. Very dirty. I immediately called the front desk and they gave us another room down the hall. I was never able to truly relax because I was afraid of what else I might find. Perhaps the bug was harmless, but If they cleaned the rooms more throughly then maybe this wouldn't have happened.
We were in town for a family wedding. The event itself was beyond words. Excellent food, service was fabulous. Very nice breakfast the next morning. The omelette was delicious and we enjoyed the coffee bar as well. Would love to come back.
My boyfriend and I were attending a show at the Paramount Theater in Huntington and wanted to make a special night of it. It was only a one night stay at Fox Hollow but it was worth it! Very spacious and comfortable room! Place felt warm & welcoming! Didn't try the restaurant on premise but we'll be back for sure for the whole experience. Such a pretty place! The extra 2 hr late check-out on Expedia didn't hurt either!! We'll be back!
We stayed there the night before our wedding and the night of the wedding. We couldn't have been happier with the staff. They were so accommodating. If there was anything that we needed, they made sure we had it!
The Fox Hollow is my home away from home. Everything from the room and the food to the incredible staff, all are best in class. Amazing place to stay again and again. Don’t miss the treat of experiencing the Fox Hollow!
