Set on eight manicured acres on Long Island, the 145-room, neoclassical Inn at Fox Hollow is a quiet retreat just an hour’s drive from Manhattan. Trickling waterfalls and tranquil gardens dot the scenic grounds, while stone fireplaces, hardwood floors and charming European decor add warmth and elegance indoors. Although built in 2002, the inn conjures a bygone era of opulence, but it also provides such modern comforts as a concierge, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Most suites have full kitchens (complete with dishwashers and Keurig coffeemakers), iHome docking stations, soaking tubs and European bath products. The Vintage 25 bar and lounge opened in 2013 and serves limited production wines from around the world, with outdoor seating and access to the courtyard.
In the Area
If you need to de-stress or just want to pamper yourself, the lavish Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden is just a block away. Next door to the inn is the Volpe restaurant, which serves the award-winning Italian cuisine of the Scotto brothers. For outdoor concerts in the summer months, head over to Jones Beach Theater, about a 20-minute drive away, where the tunes come with gorgeous water views. Wine aficionados can reach the North Fork, the hub of Long Island’s wine country, in less than an hour. Another popular attraction is the Cradle of Aviation Museum, about 15 minutes away. The inn is also surrounded by Gold Coast mansions and beaches, golf courses, shopping and restaurants.
How to Get There
I thought The Inn at Fox Hollow was a nice place to stay. Loved our accommodations. The staff was attentive. The room that we stayed at was nice and clean. We would not hesitate to return. We loved it.
We stayed in the royal suite here to get wedding ready and it did not disappoint. It was clean, well designed, comfortable, had great service and just enough space. I would definitely recommend staying here if you need to be in the area. There’s also awesome restaurants and shopping near by!
We stayed at The Inn At Fox Hollow for a family event and did not know the area. If you are going to Woodbury or Oyster Bay areas, it's a good location. While the rooms appear spacious and have amenities that are suite-like - was one of the worst hotel stays that we ever experienced. We were in Room 208. The pillows were cheap foam that left us with headaches. We heard every guest coming and going all through the night. The fire alarm went off at 2am. The towel bars literally fell off the walls. We saw a couple of giant bugs on the ceiling at night. Obviously we're not going back.
