Set on eight manicured acres on Long Island, the 145-room, neoclassical Inn at Fox Hollow is a quiet retreat just an hour’s drive from Manhattan. Trickling waterfalls and tranquil gardens dot the scenic grounds, while stone fireplaces, hardwood floors and charming European decor add warmth and elegance indoors. Although built in 2002, the inn conjures a bygone era of opulence, but it also provides such modern comforts as a concierge, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center. Most suites have full kitchens (complete with dishwashers and Keurig coffeemakers), iHome docking stations, soaking tubs and European bath products. The Vintage 25 bar and lounge opened in 2013 and serves limited production wines from around the world, with outdoor seating and access to the courtyard.
In the Area
If you need to de-stress or just want to pamper yourself, the lavish Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden is just a block away. Next door to the inn is the Volpe restaurant, which serves the award-winning Italian cuisine of the Scotto brothers. For outdoor concerts in the summer months, head over to Jones Beach Theater, about a 20-minute drive away, where the tunes come with gorgeous water views. Wine aficionados can reach the North Fork, the hub of Long Island’s wine country, in less than an hour. Another popular attraction is the Cradle of Aviation Museum, about 15 minutes away. The inn is also surrounded by Gold Coast mansions and beaches, golf courses, shopping and restaurants.
How to Get There
i booked on line for a rate for the cheapest room. when i got there i discovered the rates change due to full or not full bookings, the first two days were not fully booked, yet i had 2 different rates.there was a terrible communication problem with the staff -- i wanted a room on the first floor with a door to the outside -- when i moved in i found there was no door and all other rooms were already booked. so how far in advance to book if i need a first floor with an outside door?my bathroom was old and not heated. my phone was not working properly -- and the bed was terrible. soft and noisey whenever i moved. no bathmat in the bathroom -- would not take a shower in that stall anyway and stingy with the wash cloths.lastly, i ordered the fish next door and had to return it twice because it was well done both times.ask me if i will visit here again. You would have to pay me -- too many fish in the sea.
Visited Inn at Fox Hollow for a wedding in the area. My stay was very comfortable. Breakfast every morning was great. I would highly recommend this hotel to others. The Christmas decorations and lights were beautiful.
I reommend this hotel for eveybody specially for specvific events, specially in spring or sommer time it is the best recommendation, the food in the next restaurent is excellent nearly everythin is available
ok-not great, room was pretty--some weird things in room, no toothpaste, no coffee cups for keuric. I couldn't even buy any toothpaste at the front comissary. Front desk did not offer to help with bags. Hotel is very hard to navigate--signs don't help much.
it was very good I like it if I ever be in this area this the place to be because it was very good experience from the the front desk to bar food I just like it. very much appreciate everything the room very clean love it
