How to Get There
I stayed 3 days in October of 2018 on business. The room was very clean and well appointed. The view was great, looking out over the tree top in the fall. Really great service, very clean and well kept hotel. Great food in restaurants.
Elegant from beginning to end! Hosted a Post Wedding Breakfast there and everyone raved about the food! Have had Sunday brunch there many times and it’s one of the best around! Will definitely head back for a casual weekend stay!
I will start by saying at first I was excited to see what looked like a nice hotel when I first drove up in the pouring rain. I was tired from NYC traffic and I just wanted to get to my accommodations and relax.
I pulled up to the valet parking and not one valet helped me until I asked them to .(and I have a nice car too). So now I am wet and struggling with bags and tired and hungry.
I got to the front desk and they lost my reservation even though I had a copy and confirmation sent directly from the hotel itself whom I booked directly not an outside source on my iPhone. I was furious. They make no attempt to improve the situation nor figure out what was going on. Just blank stares of bewilderment. I had to look up my own reservation on my phone even though clearly this is their job.
I finally got a mediocre room and about 1 hour later someone is banging on my door saying they are the engineering department. What? I was so fed up I almost left but I. Was too tired by this point and it was 7pm on a Friday in the outskirts of NYC not a good hour to drive around in traffic. My room had an awful odor in it like something had been burning or someone had very bad body odor. Gross.
The next morning I left to go to my conference where I told anyone who who listen not to ever stay at this hotel. When I left the Garden City Hotel I asked for some mints or gum to take with me to purchase and not one person could even accommodate that very simple and small request.
I would never, ever stay at this hotel again nor would I suggest anyone else do so either. It is highly over rated and the service is terrible.
Great hotel. Centrally located for visits to Long Island. Across the street from the Long Island Railroad Station and less than an hour train ride to midtown Manhattan. It was raining when we checked out and Mario the doorman carried our bags to the train station. Now that is service. Carlos who was cleaning the lobby came over and wrapped a large photo in plastic so that it would not get wet. We will definitely return.
I stayed here this month for an event my company was hosting. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with great amenities, including an excellent bar and restaurant. I must give a big shout out to WILLY as he is an exceptional doorman, friendly and so accommodating.
