Overview

Contemporary crash pad with an Art Deco cocktail bar and a handy location close to Milan's central train station

The Lowdown

Opposite Milano Centrale, which is one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe, the Starhotels Anderson is a handy base from which to explore Italy’s fashion capital. The Art Deco interiors feature deep red fabrics and ebony walls, bold prints, zebra-print mirrors and plush sofas, and the 106 guestrooms are elegantly decked out with signature Starbeds and fabrics including leather and silk. Dine on classic Italian dishes at the Black Restaurant by Eataly or opt for cocktails and light bites at the Black bar. The 24-hour fitness room, free WiFi and express checkout are good for travelers on the go.

In the Area

The hotel is located directly opposite the Milano Centrale train station for fast rail connections in the city and beyond. Milan is a top spot for shoppers; global fashion houses such as Prada and Gucci dominate Via Montenapoleone, and alternative and vintage boutiques are scattered along Corso di Porta Ticinese. Culture vultures can head to the beautifully ornate Duomo or visit one of the city’s many art galleries, such as the Museo Poldi Pezzoli. Stop for a sweet treat at one of the city’s hundreds of gelateria, which serve old-fashioned ice cream. For something more substantial, a meal at Da Vic is a must; the freshly prepared Italian fare is among the best in Italy.

Lovely hotel with good breakfast
ArgentineTango

After a very delayed train into Milan, it was lovely having the hotel directly opposite the station so I could find it. The receptionist was very welcoming and I had a lovely room with a table and 2 chairs and twin beds.

The room had a lovely bath (which was bliss after a long journey) and everything else one needed. I slept very well and, despite being opposite the station, there was no noise.

Breakfast was very nice with lovely fresh juices, different croissants and several types of bread.

This was my second visit to the Hotel Anderson and it's good that the hotel remains as pleasant as ever. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others.

Cramped breakfast

Hotel is very convenient for the train station and was quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately the breakfast room was so full of tables and chairs you could hardly move, and the layout if the food meant it was difficult to get to it .

Comfortable, centric, nice, good services in and extraordinary Reception service (Selene, Roberta & Danilo & Co)

Very nice & centric hotel, attached to the Central Station, with a very good restaurant inside. Excellent customer service. I have the chance to enjoy this hotel nearly every week and I want to emphasize the extraordinary service level from Selene, Roberta, Danilo and the rest of the team (also Alberto, who previously worked there) always make me feel at home. Really good people there that provides you a really comfortable and enjoyable experience. Thanks Selene, Roberta, Danilo and the rest of the fantastic team!!!
