Overview

Contemporary crash pad with an Art Deco cocktail bar and a handy location close to Milan's central train station

The Lowdown

Opposite Milano Centrale, which is one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe, the Starhotels Anderson is a handy base from which to explore Italy’s fashion capital. The Art Deco interiors feature deep red fabrics and ebony walls, bold prints, zebra-print mirrors and plush sofas, and the 106 guestrooms are elegantly decked out with signature Starbeds and fabrics including leather and silk. Dine on classic Italian dishes at the Black Restaurant by Eataly or opt for cocktails and light bites at the Black bar. The 24-hour fitness room, free WiFi and express checkout are good for travelers on the go.

In the Area

The hotel is located directly opposite the Milano Centrale train station for fast rail connections in the city and beyond. Milan is a top spot for shoppers; global fashion houses such as Prada and Gucci dominate Via Montenapoleone, and alternative and vintage boutiques are scattered along Corso di Porta Ticinese. Culture vultures can head to the beautifully ornate Duomo or visit one of the city’s many art galleries, such as the Museo Poldi Pezzoli. Stop for a sweet treat at one of the city’s hundreds of gelateria, which serve old-fashioned ice cream. For something more substantial, a meal at Da Vic is a must; the freshly prepared Italian fare is among the best in Italy.

Lovely Hotel - charged twice
Reviewed 18 hours ago

This is a great hotel in a very good location for train travel.
However this hotel charged me twice for the room, they preauthorised my travel card
which was expected, then charged the card again on checkout without removing the previous charge. 3 weeks and emails later they promised to have reversed the charges.
This is a warning do not use a debit card to secure a booking, only a credit card.

One of the best hotels in Milan

This is one of the best hotels we had stayed in. it is located just 200-300 metres from the Central station and a metro ride away from most of the attractions in Milan. The bus for Seravalle designer outlet starts from just 5 minutes walk away from the hotel.
The room is of very good size with a comfortable bed and the staff are very nice. I will definitely stay at this hotel in my next visit to Milan.

Near the Central Station; features of a luxury hotel, at a mid-range price.

We chose this hotel because we were looking for comfortable lodgings near the train station that served a good breakfast. It is exactly one block away from the station, where you catch the bus to the airport. The neighborhood is not so interesting or nice (the Duomo is four stops away on the easy to manage Metro), but for us, the convenience to the station and a full breakfast were the important things. The Anderson exceeded our expectations for the quality of room; breakfast not so much.

Our room was large and nicely furnished, including a comfortable desk and a small table and chairs; exactly as depicted on website. Plenty of outlets for electronics and storage space. Large full length mirror and other large mirrors in the room. Excellent quality linens and pillows on the very comfortable bed. A window that opened wide. Luxury extras like bathrobes and slippers. 5 stars for the room.

Nice large, bright bathroom with modern fittings, good quality towels, magnifying mirror. Excellent shower, deep bathtub. Sufficient surface space to put your toiletries. Instead of the wasteful little bottles, there are dispensers of good quality, soap and shampoo mounted on the wall.

However, after the fantastic dinner the front desk arranged for us (at Mamma Rosa) and our luxury-style room, breakfast, though extensive, was a letdown. Cheeses and cold cuts were average. There was a limited variety of Italian or fresh items. Interestingly, the desert items were excellent, if not Italian-style. Served in the basement level, there are no windows, so the dining room is not the most pleasant. It was a bit of a crowded mob scene, in fact. I had to deduct a star. However, breakfast was acceptable and the service was excellent.

The Anderson is an excellent, mid-priced option if you want lodgings near the Stazione Centrale.

Surprisingly great!

I booked the hotel due to a business trip and had chosen due to the location convenience, so closed to Milano Centrale. First impression: the architecture is amazing! Everything very well cleaned and beautiful!
Second impression: the welcome desk staff is so friendly! A big thank you to those guys that makes our stay so friendly.

The room is comfortable, clean and specialty not noise.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone in business or touristic trip to Milano.
