Overview

Contemporary crash pad with an Art Deco cocktail bar and a handy location close to Milan's central train station

The Lowdown

Opposite Milano Centrale, which is one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe, the Starhotels Anderson is a handy base from which to explore Italy’s fashion capital. The Art Deco interiors feature deep red fabrics and ebony walls, bold prints, zebra-print mirrors and plush sofas, and the 106 guestrooms are elegantly decked out with signature Starbeds and fabrics including leather and silk. Dine on classic Italian dishes at the Black Restaurant by Eataly or opt for cocktails and light bites at the Black bar. The 24-hour fitness room, free WiFi and express checkout are good for travelers on the go.

In the Area

The hotel is located directly opposite the Milano Centrale train station for fast rail connections in the city and beyond. Milan is a top spot for shoppers; global fashion houses such as Prada and Gucci dominate Via Montenapoleone, and alternative and vintage boutiques are scattered along Corso di Porta Ticinese. Culture vultures can head to the beautifully ornate Duomo or visit one of the city’s many art galleries, such as the Museo Poldi Pezzoli. Stop for a sweet treat at one of the city’s hundreds of gelateria, which serve old-fashioned ice cream. For something more substantial, a meal at Da Vic is a must; the freshly prepared Italian fare is among the best in Italy.

Nice hotel in perfect location at Milano Central station
Reviewed 6 days ago

The hotel is perfectly located within 2 minutes of walking distance at Milano Centrale station. The rooms are nice in space and clean. All required items for a 4*** business hotels are available. The breakfast buffet offers a nice selection and variation of local food, but is served in a very small, but nice room.

The staff is very friendly. The only thing to discuss is plastic wrapped plastic cpas that were offered at our meeting - rewash able glasses could prevent the environment and should therefore be used.

Otherwise the hotel is very nice and highly recommendable.

Very dark but ok, great staff
Reviewed 1 month ago

You have to go downstairs to checkin. The reception, bar area etc are very dark and starved of daylight, as are the meeting rooms. Bedrooms are ok, nothing special. Hotel is well located next to the central station and the staff are really helpful and friendly which makes up for a fairly average hotel.

Subterrain hotel with a dark appearance
Reviewed 1 month ago

The breakfast room as well as the lunch / dinner room and the bar are ‘sub’ terrain and have no view on the street. The meeting rooms are in the basement as is the breakfast room and they do not have any view on the outside. The basement is quite dark with black panels and doors. The corridors, also in the hotel starting at the second floor are quite narrow. Coffee / espresso is great . Had luncheon with pasta (trofie al ragu di verdure) followed by chicken filet with zucchini and finally fruit. Service was courteous. Location is prime just opposite the Milano central station.

Welcome surprise

After a long flight and train ride to Central Station, it was a very welcome surprise to find that our hotel was just across the road! As soon as we opened the door the there are steps leading down to reception. Before we new it a porter appeared and quickly took our luggage. Staff on reception was very friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were clean and spacious. Even the bathroom was spacious for a city hotel. As we left to go to dinner it started to rain, the porter again quickly appeared with umbrellas.
Breakfast was moderate and nice and the coffee plentiful. Beds comfortable and bath towels were large. Can highly recommend this hotel.

very good place to stay

We have wonderful experience in the hotel. It is close to train station, 1 minute walk from a shuttle buses to the Malpensa and Bergamo airports, 1 min. to metro station. Place is quiet at the evening, although it is at the train station. Hotel is stylish and pretty, staff was helpful and pleasant. Room was bright, quiet, comfortable. Breakfast saloon was small, but it was not so big problem to wait 3,4 minutes. Breakfast was good. Wonderful place.
