Easily the most fashionable Italian city, Milan is always at the forefront of design. Yet there’s plenty more to please here than just shop-filled streets. From superb Neoclassical and Art Nouveau architecture and mouth-watering cuisine to first-rate art galleries and a rather famous opera house, this buzzy metropolis is one of history, culture and all-out elegance.
Just a 15-minute walk from the city center, the four-star NH Milano Touring promises a laid-back stay where the vibe is trendy yet unpretentious. From this elegant base, you’ll be able to gorge yourself on Renaissance art at Pinacotera di Brera, visit the fascinating museum at San Siro Stadium and take a guided tour of the world-famous Teatro alla Scala Opera House. Post-sightseeing, enjoy some freshly prepared Italian cuisine at the signature restaurant, before working your way through the excellent wine list at the adjoining bar.
Each of the 170-square-foot Superior rooms is outfitted with tastful décor, high-end fixtures and fittings and soothing color tones. You’ll find a plush queen-sized bed (or two twins), an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and large windows for plenty of natural daylight. Finishing touches include a flat-screen TV with cable and movie channels, tea and coffee facilities and Wi-Fi access.
Kick-start your day at the breakfast buffet – a hearty spread piled high with international staples and regional delicacies, such as cheeses, cold cuts, fruit juices, pastries, yogurt, breads and more. Cooked-to-order hot dishes are also available on request. For lunch and dinner, the refined Pianoterra Restaurant serves Italian and international cuisine created with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. There’s also the laid-back Pianoterra Bar – perfect for post-sightseeing cocktails.
Just 15 minutes from Milan’s historic center, you’ll be staying right next to Indro Montanelli Public Gardens – the oldest park in the city. City must-dos include gazing in wonder at the magnificent Duomo (the third-largest church in Europe), marveling at Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper at the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, taking a guided tour of the elaborate Teatro alla Scala Opera House and learning about the city’s Roman legacy at the Archaeological Museum. You may also want to visit the fascinating museum at San Siro Stadium, drain your credit card on haute couture offerings at Quadrilatero d’Oro, and soak up the art at the wonderful Pinacotera di Brera gallery.
How to Get There
This hotel a disaster. Water in a shower never warm it’s either freezing, either boiling. Bed is extremely uncomfortable, you can feel every spring in your matras. The most amazing part is renovation on the floor above that starts at 7.30 in the morning even on Saturday. I am dreaming to leave this hotel, but unfortunately we have another night here
Not the first time for me, NH is always a good option because it gives you all the comfort needed for a short stay in Milan. Comfortable room, amazing breakfast, strategic location close to the center city.
