The Lowdown

If you’re looking for a cultural fix in the Portuguese capital, look no further than this four-star designer sleep, boasting a super-central location. It’s set just steps from the high-end fashion stores and trendy bars of the Champs Elysées-inspired Avenida da Liberdade, which means that as a guest, you’re also minutes from the fabled mix of ancient sites and modern wonders that make the city of Lisbon so magical. Vincci Liberdade itself is also a stylish destination, opened just last year, and set in a converted historic building.
Each of the rooms is sleek, yet welcoming, jazzed up with soft blue and yellow hues, creative lighting and all the creature comforts you’re likely to need. Elsewhere, there’s plenty to lure you back after long days spent shopping, sightseeing and museum hopping. Relax with a cocktail or two on the hotel’s lovely terrace patio, order snacks from the bar, and hit the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for classic Portuguese and Mediterranean gourmet cuisine that’s been given a contemporary twist of its own.

You’ll find a careful attention to detail in the 82 new guest rooms, all of which are sleek and glamorous. With all the fancy flourishes you’d expect at a four-star, the well-sized Standard Double room has a double bed, a flat-screen satellite TV, a swanky bathroom with a bathtub and bath amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi and plenty of mod cons. Most rooms come with a pretty balcony that overlooks the city.

Foodies will adore the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for its top-notch Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, created with traditional, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. There are also a café-bar for coffee and cocktails, as well as a lovely terrace patio that’s perfect for relaxing with a glass or two of regional wine. Room service is available, too.

Just steps from Avenida da Liberdade, the hotel is smack-bang in the heart of the Portuguese capital. Must-dos include spending time at Berado Museum, with one of the world’s most acclaimed collections of modern art; taking the wrought-iron Santa Justa lift for incredible views of the skyline; climbing the Castle of São Jorge; strolling through Alfama; and visiting Terreiro do Paço – the largest and most iconic square in the city. We also recommend taking a tram ride, shopping your heart out in the elegant Chiado district and checking out iconic pieces from Phillipe Starck, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier at the Design and Fashion Museum (also known as MUDE).

Flawless experience

I spent here a whole week while on business trip and actually I can’t think of complaining about anything.

Located in the center, walking distance from the heart of the city, this is a nice boutique place, with proper service, nice summer bar garden and surprisingly good restaurant.

The room was relatively spacious, with a minimalistic decoration and big bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, but having three lunches there made me appreciate their restaurant. Since I was there for meeting, I should say that their conference amenities were excellent, including the catering. Actually the whole catering part was superb!

Service-wise, the staff was pretty helpful and quick, so I really can’t think of anything negative about this place. High recommended if you are in Lisbon!

We had a pleasant stay there. On the first night there was a noise issue from the bar near the hotel (a private party was going on due to the carnival) and we couldn't sleep at all till the music stopped at 2.23am. We asked the reception to complain/report to the police and they acted promptly (although the party didn't end till 2.23am).

They kindly offered to change our room in case there was another party (gave us an upgrade for the same price), gave us a bottle of champagne and chocolates and waived the dinner bill at the restaurant.

They really tried hard to make sure rest of our stay would be good even if the issue was caused by the third party.

We appreciate their hospitality and would like to recommend the hotel to anyone.

We stayed for just two nights, from the minute we arrived all the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room on the 6th floor was clean and bright, Breakfast and service were excellent with cooked to order menu, we eat in the restaurant on Valentine’s Day , this was not on our plan but after being out all day sightseeing we decided to stay in the hotel to eat. A great decision on our part, the food and wine was second to none. Thank you Pollyanna for your excellent recommendation and service, This was our first trip to Lisbon and defiantly won’t be the last where we have said we would stay here again. A tip for new travellers to Lisbon , pack comfortable trainers ,

Superb hotel, great location

The sign of a really good hotel is how good the staff are. Well, this hotel would get six stars from me if it were possible. From the porter to the chambermaid, the concierge to management, nothing was to much trouble. And they smiled, all of them. A particular shout out to Manuel who helped find restaurants (all good) and was a very kind man too. The room was small but perfectly arranged, superb bed, ultra modern and clean bathroom. Shower was particularly good. Breakfasts were delicious and Nespresso coffee machine a welcome from the normal filter coffee. Excellent bar and very reasonably priced.
Top tip from Manuel. Don't use the taxis! Rip off merchants. Use Uber to get everywhere. Way cheaper than London. Most trips were €3-4!
I can't wait to get back in the Autumn.
So thank you staff at Vincci Liberdade. You are a credit to your industry.
