If you’re looking for a cultural fix in the Portuguese capital, look no further than this four-star designer sleep, boasting a super-central location. It’s set just steps from the high-end fashion stores and trendy bars of the Champs Elysées-inspired Avenida da Liberdade, which means that as a guest, you’re also minutes from the fabled mix of ancient sites and modern wonders that make the city of Lisbon so magical. Vincci Liberdade itself is also a stylish destination, opened just last year, and set in a converted historic building.
Each of the rooms is sleek, yet welcoming, jazzed up with soft blue and yellow hues, creative lighting and all the creature comforts you’re likely to need. Elsewhere, there’s plenty to lure you back after long days spent shopping, sightseeing and museum hopping. Relax with a cocktail or two on the hotel’s lovely terrace patio, order snacks from the bar, and hit the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for classic Portuguese and Mediterranean gourmet cuisine that’s been given a contemporary twist of its own.
You’ll find a careful attention to detail in the 82 new guest rooms, all of which are sleek and glamorous. With all the fancy flourishes you’d expect at a four-star, the well-sized Standard Double room has a double bed, a flat-screen satellite TV, a swanky bathroom with a bathtub and bath amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi and plenty of mod cons. Most rooms come with a pretty balcony that overlooks the city.
Foodies will adore the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for its top-notch Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, created with traditional, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. There are also a café-bar for coffee and cocktails, as well as a lovely terrace patio that’s perfect for relaxing with a glass or two of regional wine. Room service is available, too.
Just steps from Avenida da Liberdade, the hotel is smack-bang in the heart of the Portuguese capital. Must-dos include spending time at Berado Museum, with one of the world’s most acclaimed collections of modern art; taking the wrought-iron Santa Justa lift for incredible views of the skyline; climbing the Castle of São Jorge; strolling through Alfama; and visiting Terreiro do Paço – the largest and most iconic square in the city. We also recommend taking a tram ride, shopping your heart out in the elegant Chiado district and checking out iconic pieces from Phillipe Starck, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier at the Design and Fashion Museum (also known as MUDE).
How to Get There
I was there for work and was very satisfied with the hotel. The room was spacey, clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent, we were within walking distance of various interesting places, there's plenty of food places around. The WiFi was excellent and reliable. The breakfast was plentiful with loads of fresh options. The only thing was that I could hear my coworker next door while he was on the phone. I would definitely return.
Loved this hotel. Moved here from other Vincci hotel as rooms bigger and more modern. Staff great and very helpful. Rooms clean and air conditioning very effective. Only issues were cleaning staff banging loudly in corridors early in morning and book your taxi for 15 mins before you need it as there were delays every time even when we booked taxis hours ahead.
We stayed here on an anniversary trip to Portugal in June 2018. The hotel is convenient to Liberdade and walking distance to a number of areas, including the metro. Staff was very kind and courteous, the hotel was very clean and well-appointed. Quiet, comfortable back patio with bar was nice for a drink or snack before we went out for the night. Beds were very comfortable and had a soft pad that they would remove if it was too soft for you. Our room had a great patio that was shared among all the rooms in our block. Only downfall to that was heavy smokers staying next door, but it didn't bother us much. Bathroom/shower was very nice and everything was new. Breakfast was standard European style, especially good pastries and orange juice. Highly recommend for a quiet, slightly off main drag but high-quality hotel. If you want to be in the center of it all and a lot of noise/action look elsewhere, this was relaxing.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in June and had a perfect stay. The location is fantastic – quiet, peaceful and safe and just a sort walk to all the tourist spots and neighbourhoods.
Our room was spotless and absolutely gorgeous – the bed is as incredible as everyone says! Kept clean and restocked throughout our stay, and plenty of space. Could have perhaps done with a spot more storage for our luggage, but that’s perhaps down to me bringing too much!
The staff are absolutely brilliant, just like everyone else has mentioned. Massively friendly and helpful and just a total credit to the hotel and pleasure to be around. We asked for tips and directions a couple of times and got everything we needed to know; nothing was too much trouble.
Finally, the breakfast buffet is AMAZING! Worth adding to your stay for sure. Could have had something different every day of the week and still not tried it all. Lovely friendly staff as well. We also had room service a couple of times and the food was brilliant.
All in all a perfect stay, and would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere special in Lisbon.
We took a corner room we gave us a great view onto the tree lined one way street. The windows shot for any noise from the night. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable and it was quiet. We would definitely stay again.
