If you’re looking for a cultural fix in the Portuguese capital, look no further than this four-star designer sleep, boasting a super-central location. It’s set just steps from the high-end fashion stores and trendy bars of the Champs Elysées-inspired Avenida da Liberdade, which means that as a guest, you’re also minutes from the fabled mix of ancient sites and modern wonders that make the city of Lisbon so magical. Vincci Liberdade itself is also a stylish destination, opened just last year, and set in a converted historic building.
Each of the rooms is sleek, yet welcoming, jazzed up with soft blue and yellow hues, creative lighting and all the creature comforts you’re likely to need. Elsewhere, there’s plenty to lure you back after long days spent shopping, sightseeing and museum hopping. Relax with a cocktail or two on the hotel’s lovely terrace patio, order snacks from the bar, and hit the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for classic Portuguese and Mediterranean gourmet cuisine that’s been given a contemporary twist of its own.
You’ll find a careful attention to detail in the 82 new guest rooms, all of which are sleek and glamorous. With all the fancy flourishes you’d expect at a four-star, the well-sized Standard Double room has a double bed, a flat-screen satellite TV, a swanky bathroom with a bathtub and bath amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi and plenty of mod cons. Most rooms come with a pretty balcony that overlooks the city.
Foodies will adore the flagship à la carte restaurant, ÁGUA’, for its top-notch Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, created with traditional, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. There are also a café-bar for coffee and cocktails, as well as a lovely terrace patio that’s perfect for relaxing with a glass or two of regional wine. Room service is available, too.
Just steps from Avenida da Liberdade, the hotel is smack-bang in the heart of the Portuguese capital. Must-dos include spending time at Berado Museum, with one of the world’s most acclaimed collections of modern art; taking the wrought-iron Santa Justa lift for incredible views of the skyline; climbing the Castle of São Jorge; strolling through Alfama; and visiting Terreiro do Paço – the largest and most iconic square in the city. We also recommend taking a tram ride, shopping your heart out in the elegant Chiado district and checking out iconic pieces from Phillipe Starck, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier at the Design and Fashion Museum (also known as MUDE).
How to Get There
An ex-colleague booked this hotel for me and I was pleased with his choice.
The room was stylishly decorated in a modern way and agreeably comfortable. I cannot say much else as I only really used the room and the underground parking, but I liked the hotel and would stay here again.
Great locations, comfy beds, and great staff. I left my AirPods in my room, and live in the USA. I called to see if they were they, and they quickly responded to confirm I did leave them and went above and beyond to ship them back to me in the USA. Very much appreciated, and would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon. 1 block from the main strip, yet quiet corner to get some good rest.
The Vincci Liberdade is a fantastic boutique hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent! The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet yet just a 10 minute walk down to the Chiado district and the river front. Very close to the Marques de Pombal and the Avienida metro stops. Overall, fantastic place to stay in Lisbon!
My fiancé and I stayed here on two separate occasions during our trip to Portugal and honestly, I was a little skeptical when we checked in but by the time we left for Porto, I was convinced that this was a well run property. The front office staff were kind and courteous like all the Portuguese, our room was great and our daily breakfast in bed was serviced perfectly. Initially, we were going to stay at the Sofitel, but I am glad that we ended up here..we liked it so much that when we returned to Lisbon from the Algarve, we stayed a few more nights. Well done....
This was a great hotel although a bit of a walking distance from the old part of Lisbon like Biaxa or Afalma. But it was in a very quiet neighborhood and surrounded by great restaurants. It was close to the train station so we took it to Sintra for the day. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Breakfast there was also great. Overall, wonderful place to stay!
