How to Get There
Just checked in at this central Lisbon hotel, amazing location, very comfortable and stylish. We have just completed a very interesting and informative free walking tour with Barbara, which was amazing..!
You even get a complimentary glass of port at the end of the tour.
The Staff, service and location where outstanding. Loved Barbara who gave us a complimentary walking tour of the city. The bar staff where fun, friendly and engaging. The breakfast room was lively and the selection lovely. The complimentary bottle of wine was an unexpected bonus. LOVED it! Would highly recommend it
+ very friendly staff, going extra mile in giving tips, recommendations, advice
+ very lovely hotel in the hearth of Lisbon, easily accessible, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the sights
+ great breakfast
+ very comfortable beds and pillows, very tidy, with everything an average traveler needs
- coffee machine in the breakfast area
- dark corridors, at first we were confused which room is ours, because the room number is written on the floor
This hotel is very centrally located and has beautiful quirky decor. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but very cleverly done with everything that you need. Unfortunately there was no bath in the bathrooms but everything was amazing including a lovely breakfast .
The hotel is in a fantastic location close to train stations and walking distance to good restaurants, Praca do Comercio, shopping centres and the river front.
We upgraded to a larger room on the Fifth floor which was spacious and had two large front windows looking out onto the street. Bed,pillows and linen were lovely and comfortable.
Very clean and equipped with all the major appliances, fridge ,smeg kettle, coffee maker, speakers and large TV.
A bit of a mission unlocking the door in a dark corridor, there was a definite skill to opening which we eventually discovered on the final day! Why a great big metal key ?
So looking at the above you would expect a higher rating ??
However, the poor staff and service detracted from all the positives.
It is pointless providing coffee, tea and sugar without milk. We asked reception for either fresh or UHT milk for an early morning drink to be told to order from room service! And anyway breakfast would be served soon so we should wait !
Coffee and tea was not replaced the next day but managed to prise them from reception. Collected a jug of milk from the kitchen this time ..... lol!
Anything we asked or enquired about, which was infrequent, we felt like we were interrupting a conversation or phone message. Too many staff looking at or on mobiles.
Going through to breakfast we were virtually barged out the way by a rude waiter who hadn’t the good manners to allow guests to pass first.
There does not appear to be any supervision or guidance so I presume this is purely down to poor training.
Breakfast was fine, with a selection of hot and cold food. However, the dishes were not cleared regularly so the small tables quickly became overloaded and cluttered.
This hotel really has the potential to have a five star rating from all their guests but they need to be more committed to providing excellent customer service at all times.
