How to Get There
The hotel is perfectly central located in the heart of Lisbon. They serve a nice breakfast, the rooms are very small but cozy and clean. It could be worth it’s advertised four stars but unfortunately there is the stuff. I really appreciate the fact that they hired mostly young people in their service but I don’t know why they behave like a bunch of moody kids. Maybe it’s because there is no senior supervisor or maybe not enough training.
I did not feel very welcome there. There was a mix up situation when I arrived and I had a claustrophobic small room without view. I booked and payed for a large room with a view. Instead of apologizing and solving the issue the gentlemen started to argue with me and make me feel like he is doing me a favor. Something like the hotel is fully booked and if he moves me to a room with a view the room will be even smaller. In the time I was waiting to be moved he told me not to touch anything. He was really rude. When I asked to talk to a senior person he said there is no one. The rest of the encounters had been similar. In the bar, at breakfast. Most of the encounters with employees had been without greetings, please and thank you. Rather rude and obnoxious. One time all the hallways had been pitch black, another time the elevator did not work. I felt a little like in the haunted mansion at Disneyland.
Not terrible but also not quite like four stars.
Loved this place. Location could not be more ideal. Room was beautiful, staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Hip and cool while also totally unpretentious. Breakfast was good too. Highly recommend.
This hotel is right in the thick of Lisboa with the Praca do Commercio right around the corner. I stayed here or 3 nights and was very comfortable with the only two downsides being the rooms are quite small and breakfast could use a bit of an upgrade. Room size is offset with the central location but I would have imagined for the price you are paying, breakfast could have been a little bit tastier than overcooked scrambled eggs in a buffet bar and a machine that serves out weak, over-milked coffee. I would recommend to the hotel they offer a small menu of freshly cooked eggs, like most other boutique hotels offer these days. The bar area is beautiful though with a library of coffee table books and plush armchairs.
Had a very pleasant stay in Browns Central. Staff very nice and breakfast perfectly satisfying. Really nicely decorated hotel, our room was very comfortable and quite funky. Would definitely stay here again if in Lisbon.
Hotel is very central to everything in the city. Breakfast was excellent and provided plenty of variety. Rooms were definitely on the small side but commonplace for European hotels. Will definitely stay again when we’re back in Lisbon next year.
