How to Get There
Reopened after 2 years of extensive renovation. Entrance is finally up
To the hotel, rooms are modern fully equipped. We where in 317, sufficiently large and very comfortable. Bathroom is not huge but it has all is needed. WiFi ok. Breakfast a la carte. Location optimal for the Bairro and Chiado area.
The restaurant is very good too!
We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this jewel of a five star boutique hotel. Newly renovated with high quality and exquisite furnishings, excellent helpful staff and superb offerings in the restaurant, bar, rooftop terrace and pastry shop. The location is central and perfect as a point of reference to explore Lisbon.
We love a five star hotel and had a difficult time settling on one in Lisbon. After a lot of research, we settled on the Bairro Alto Hotel and I am so glad we did! We chose the Prestige Chiado room and planned to upgrade if the room was too small. We had considered the Four Seasons as well, and glad we didnt select it as the property was very tired.
For our room at the Bairro Alto - we were surprised to find the Chiado room was large with a sitting area, had a view of the square and three doors that all opened onto a terrace (for standing only and one was in the bathroom). The hotel was freshly updated and absolutely lovely. It was also very quiet, despite the square just outside the hotel -- when the doors were closed we didn't hear a thing.
The staff, lovely as well and always called us by name. They were able to do currency exchanges at the hotel, arrange for car service and had nightly turn down. The nightly turn down included a freshly decanter of infused water (cucumber, raspberry, etc). Since were celebrating our anniversary, he hotel also sent us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates - such a lovely choice.
Don't waste time searching for hotels in Lisbon - this one is close to everything and just perfect!
