With its double-height ceilings, the sleek lobby-cum-bar at Amathus Beach Hotel lets in acres of light through its towering glass windows. Spacious guestrooms are similarly modern in style and offer a mix of inland and sea views from the enormous beds or balconies. Fitness fanatics will love the swimming, diving, jet skiing, tennis and chance to tee up at a nearby golf course. Lounge lovers can chill in the cavernous spa or soak up the rays by one of the three pools. Eat under the stars at La Terrazza, by the sea at the Limanaki Fish Tavern or overlooking the garden at NUbar.
In the Area
If you’ve exhausted the possibilities of the watersports at the beach (from March to November) then head a bit further into Limassol. Try diving around the old Zenobia shipwreck and brave the sights of giant tuna and eels swimming nearby. For land based activities there’s the Limassol Medieval Castle or the Limassol Archeological Museum.
How to Get There
This LHW is definitely 5 stars once your inside.
The room was superb and newly refurbished.
The customer service and staff were first class.
The gym and spa facilities were also superb.
Good pools and sun bathing areas.
There appeared to be excellent facilities for children also.
The reasonable price for a LHW reflects its location.
It’s not the prettiest view of sky scrappers to the right and rows of hotels to the left.
If your looking for a pristine sandy beach, this hotel is not for you.
Although this beach does has a blue flag.
There is a public walk way right in front of the hotel before the beach.
Don’t let the old building 1940-1950 style and very built up area put you off.
The Amathus was actually built in 1974 in
Bauhaus - German style Architecture by a Cypriot Fortis Colakides.
Once your in its all of a very high standard.
The hotel is of decent 5 star standard. Very clean, large rooms. Very friendly service. Great breakfast. Beautiful grounds.
This is a place for families with kids . Lots of staff for kids to do.
The beach is amazing. Sandy, with calm clear sea.
All in all good experience.
The beach towel are given out with cards, and you have to queue to get a tower and then you have to return it to get the card.
In addition they do not give you more than two for a person, this is a joke for 5 star hotel of that standard and price range.
Also, beware, the hotel is packed with Russians.
On positive side housekeeping is very good and it is a very pretty hotel with some really amazing restaurants, like Limanaki fish restaurant.
I would definitely recommend this place for families with kids.
