Fantastic hotel

This hotel was wonderful. If we tried, I suppose we could think of something to complain about. Well, the "Do Not Disturb" sign didn't hang properly on the doorknob. There. That is the only thing that was bad about the hotel.

The location is excellent, within several minutes' walk to the Trevi Fountain, Trajan's Column, and other important Roman sights. It's just a block from the Quirinale Palace and its gardens. Our room overlooked a little park adjacent to the palace. On our first night there, we were treated to a very romantic thunderstorm and absolutely pelting rain. It was great.

We enjoyed the room service a great deal. We had a dinner brought to us on the first night, with several dishes like Pasta all'Arrabiata and other such Italian favorites. The breakfasts, served in a beautiful room overlooking the back garden, were also very nice.

We managed to get upstairs to the rooftop hot tubs, which we had to ourselves; there is a bar there at which you can serve yourself a glass of wine or two as you take a plunge or stare out at the city. That was all very nice.

The decor in the hotel is really a knockout, all wood paneling, antique furniture, and tapestries. It all reminded us very much of an English manor house.

The staff was perfectly helpful with anything we needed; we liked them all very much.

The room was huge, with high ceilings, a comfortable bed, big closets, a safe, a free minibar (great touch, much appreciated), and a bottle of nice prosecco for our special occasion.

All in all, this hotel really exceeded our expectations. We loved it!

Rome Stay

Very Helpful Staff. Excellent concierge service will get reservations and book tours for you. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Very central stay on quite street. Breakfast was perfect. Would definitely stay again when in Rome.

As others have said, you don’t stay here if you like big hotels with multiple restaurants, etc. But if what you want is luxury, serenity and superb service this is the place for you. Our room, a prestige deluxe double, was large, beautifully furnished with the softest, most luxurious linen I have ever had in a hotel, and with a lovely view over the hotel gardens. The complete mini bar, like the drinks in the salon, were all complimentary and there was a lovely bowl of fruit and cookies.
The public spaces, including the garden, are an oasis of tranquility. The breakfast are great with lovely service and we did have an evening meal on our first night as we had just arrived from Australia and were too tired to go out. It is not a restaurant as such but we had a salad and bowl of pasta, which was just what we felt like. There are plenty of restaurants within a short walk.
The desk staff were superb, organising everything from restaurant bookings to gallery tickets to massages. The hotel is perfectly located for most of the major sights of the city and yet, when you close the double shutters on your bedroom windows at night you can’t hear a sound. Oh, and the air conditioning worked perfectly.
