- The permanent contemporary art exhibition at the on-site Spazio Arte gallery
- Waking up to sweet Italian breakfasts that can be served directly to your room
What To Know
- This 17th-century guesthouse is located right on Piazza Navona square—just a 5-minute walk from the Pantheon
- Head to the lounge for breakfast and you'll find a tasty spread of Italian pastries, croissants and cappuccinos
- Free WiFi works well
Art lovers have a lot to look forward to at this rather hip nine-room guesthouse, which is situated on the second floor of a 17th-century building in the Eternal City. And the location’s not bad either; smack bang in the heart of Rione Ponte – the historic district that’s home to an eclectic mix of trendy bars and cafés, upscale restaurants, and one-of-a-kind boutiques.
Opened in 2014, this little place has created a big buzz; mostly for its intimate set up and contemporary-cool styling. All of the guest rooms assure sleek décor, comfortable beds, flatscreen TVs with satellite channels, and lovely en-suite bathrooms with NUXE toiletries. And then, of course, there’s the rotating collection of art pieces proudly displayed on the walls.
While there’s no restaurant, you can enjoy sweet Italian-style breakfasts in the hotel’s living room each morning – or order straight to your room if you don’t fancy getting out of bed. Also worthy of your attention is the reading room that’s kitted out with a PC and printer, and the on-site Spazio Arte gallery that showcases original works by emerging modern artists and students.
How to Get There
Stayed 5 nights from 5th to 10th August 2019
Highly recommend this tasteful and brilliantly located Rome guest house.
Previous reviews have pretty much covered everything.
The ladies who run things - Laura, Monica and Eugenia – were really helpful with advice on getting to places and very patient!
We second the comments on the high level of housekeeping, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom (Italian TV only). Although we had one of the more compact rooms at the back (without view), everything was catered for and the bed was still a king size and extremely comfortable – a delight to come back to after a hard day of walking!
We missed out on the glass of Prosecco the others have mentioned but that was only because we were out walking the streets of Rome!
Comfortable shoes are recommended as this is a city made for walking and the streets are cobbled so not ideal for people with mobility problems or with buggies.
October is a great time of year to visit Rome – it was still very warm and less crowded than during the peak months though busy enough.
So pleased we found the Relais Rione Ponte!
Throughly enjoyed our stay at the Relais Rione Ponte. Being situated in the centre of Rome, made very easy access to most tourist attractions. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful. The rooms had a very nice decor and very clean. The staff would go out of their way to make sure all was good. Highly recommend.
We were so happy we chose this beautiful boutique hotel just around the corner from Piazza Navona and in easy walking distance of so many attractions.
The hotel is on the second floor of a beautiful old building and has a lovely reception area, a small breakfast room and nine bedrooms.
We had a deluxe room (room one) which was a very good size, simply but elegantly furnished and immaculately clean. The king size bed was really comfortable and the large bathroom had twin sinks and a fantastic shower.
The housekeeping was excellent, with towel changes most days and a really high standard of cleaning.
It was lovely to have such a spacious wardrobe (with lots of hangers), drawers, a fridge, table and chairs and TV. It was a shame the TV did not have English language channels but not the end of the world.
The air conditioning was excellent and much needed after a hot day. You might want to consider packing a robe (slippers are provided).
You will hear a little traffic noise as this is a busy area, but we didn’t hear any of our fellow travellers.
The welcome bottle of Prosecco on ice was a lovely touch.
The breakfast was excellent, serving delicious pastries, fruit, cereal, juice and coffee. There’s also a fabulous espresso machine in the guest lounge, and we loved the complimentary Prosecco served at 5.30pm each evening.
We felt very secure. There is a shared front door but it has a security code between 8pm and 8am, and another to get into the RRP accommodation itself.
Perhaps most impressive of all are the lovely ladies who run this place. We can’t praise the staff enough for their warmth, friendliness and courtesy. They really were wonderful in every way. Monica and Laura were especially helpful.
Do take advantage of their taxi service to and from the airport. It made the transfers wonderfully stress free.
This is truly beautiful accommodation, ideally situated for exploring Rome. Highly recommended.
