How to Get There
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in
The grand view junior suite and I will never forget the amazing room...
Access to your room from your own private lift ( painfully slow though ) but the view and room
Quickly make you forget the slow lift...
Room was clean and spacious acqua Di Parma toiletries and coffee facilities.. the view well what can I say we didn’t want to leave the room..
Breakfast was lovely, could have done with a bit more like eggs Benedict etc but worked out well as we made up for the small breakfast with a huge pasta for lunch.
We ate in the restaurant 1 evening and food was amazing
If we ever returned to Rome this is where we would return and will defiantly recommend to anyone visiting Rome
I am saddened writing this review. Good points are that the apartment was clean, large and cleaned daily including refreshing of toiletries and the breakfast had enough variety to satisfy our needs. The 'bad' points are be careful when you book and dont fall for the beautiful photos, as I and other reviewers on TripAdvisor did, as these reflect rooms in the hotel. We chose a booking with no cancellation option (our choice) however once confirmed it was highlighted that we hadnt actually booked a room in the hotel, but in an apartment a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I always do my homework when booking weekends away and couldnt believe I had made this mistake - you have been warned.
Great location, amazing staff, extremely well appointed hotel. There is a supermarket and ATM right around the corner. Lots of great places to eat around the streets. This hotel has lots of “extras” - eg a beautiful handmade Easter egg was presented to us as our farewell gift. I would stay here again. An amazing view of the Colosseum. Thank you!
Sitting at breakfast in the rooftop restaurant atop Palazzo Manfredi with the morning light changing minute by minute on the walls of the Colosseum and my second cappuccino arriving, I can wholeheartedly say that we made the right choice to stay here. The last time my family was in Rome, we stayed in what was also a five star hotel of my choosing closer to the high end boutiques on the opposite side of the city, but if you are a tourist, then the views, location and service here are unbeatable.
Traveling with a teenage girl, I chose the family suite with Colosseum views which is really two rooms, and two bathrooms separated and yet connected by a tiny hallway with doors leading to the main hall. The rooms were decorated beautifully, had every amenity, with views of the Colosseum from both bedrooms and bathrooms. It never failed to take my breath away and fill my heart to see the Colosseum in all of it's majesty, morning and night.
The staff is incredible. I had read about Veronika and had to smile when I met her, as her manner and assistance (and English) was foolproof. Her recommendations were very good, especially Gensola in Trastevere, but don't be afraid to walk around and read menus in any area you land. Catalin was fantastic as well as the manager Giacomo, housemaids, and breakfast servers at Aroma was by far unbeatable. Special surprises of wine and treats every day in my room added to the feeling that the people here at Palazzo Manfredi want you to feel special.
I want to address the few complaints I read here about noise. It is hard not to hear everything when you are jet lagged and traveling. I found that our room, although not soundproof, was just fine when it came to noise. If you stay in a big city, you will here street noise, occasional sirens, hotel workings, and occasionally other guests. We used an app for soft white noise and slept soundly in the comfy beds here.
There is a small sitting room downstairs off the lobby (no view) that is nice if you need a moment alone from the family to write or work. Otherwise, the lobby is very small, but I don't find a grand lobby necessary when you don't spend any time in it anyway.
Lastly, the location and the ability to walk to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, and the short cab distance to the other side of town was just perfect. I preferred the view and location here over the boutique side of town. Just look at my pics, I cannot get enough of the feeling that I am experiencing the best of Rome in a timeless and unforgettable place.
They the most amazing view of the colosseum. Like amazing. And the rooms are extremely high tech. All of the mini bar is FREE! And they have the best customer service. We stayed here the night of my birthday. At check-in they took a copy of our passports, and saw it was my birthday. They then sent me upstairs for a free drink at the bar and sent up a piece of cake. I didn’t even know they noticed. It was extra special! They also recommended amazing restaurants for us to eat and private tours on extremely short notice. A++
