How to Get There
You know that the hotel is supremely good when it’s the best thing in your trip to the city, and even though Rome is a great city to visit choosing this hotel was the best thing we did on that trip, I write this review after two years of my visit to the hotel and still me and my wife reminisce about this hotel and how mesmerized we were with it. Though at the time of the stay they upgraded our room to a sweet for taking the romantic package when we made our reservation.
This property has amazing views, definitely stay in one of the suites if you have the chance. The suites in the main building or the new building have large square footage, breathtaking views, modern furniture, great service and amenities. If you book through a Virtuoso Travel Consultant you will also receive free breakfast daily and a $100 food and beverage credit, you will want to have a drink or dinner at the rooftop restaurant you can not miss that view. I would recommend tis hotel for honeymoons, couples getaways or just a single traveler wanting a five star located right next to the Coliseum.
We’d lived in the UK 12 years and embarrassingly hadn’t been to Rome. Having decided to finally do a long weekend this year and having also read somewhere about this hotel, and been thoroughly enchanted by the write up, we booked two nights in a room with a colosseum view but we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the large colosseum suite on arrival. Thank you so much!!!! What a treat!!!!
The whole welcome/arrival experience was lovely (and the smiling faces at the desk continued each day). We just wish we’d been able to soak up the lovely suite a bit more but we were out pretty much from sun up to sun down all the time.....but at least bad rain on our final day kept us from heading out early as planned ....so what more was there to do but run and enjoy a mammoth bath and the complimentary bottle of Prosecco - looking right out to the colosseum.
Loved the Acqua Di Parma products only they kept duplicating conditioner and missing others strangely as there was no body lotion supplied. Also the water for the coffee machine wasn’t replaced and the tank had been emptied after the first day which seemed a strange oversight.
I get that the room was purposely ‘gizmo intensive’ and modern but it was a bit over the top for us and we found it impossible to work out all the lights and sensors and blinds etc. Never mind - but I think we just had so little time that we were always rushing and so it was too time consuming to work it out and pretty frustrating. Simpler would be far better.
Was nice to have a welcome drink offered but when we went upstairs for it around 10pm the people didn’t seem that enthusiastic to serve it - busy with end of service in Aroma presumably.
We didn’t experience dinner at Aroma sadly but really enjoyed the breakfast spread up there particularly the smooth salmon and flavoursome meats plus exceptional fresh tomatoes to accompany — that had the flavour of 100 tomatoes packed into one!!!
Make sure if you want a short (cafe) macchiato you explain properly as they gave us a latte macchiato which was just huge. Toooooooo milky!
Lovely time thank you!
We had the most pleasent stay at this hotel. The service of the staff, the incredible cooks and the luxury feeling this hotel gave us, is really something special.
Aroma restaurant alone is worth the visit. The food, the first class service, and the amazing view of Colosseum gives a perfect experience.
Throughout the whole hotel you really get the feeling that the staff is there for you. First class service!
This is a great hotel, my family and I were treated extremely well. The property is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate and the rooftop restaurant is top-notch with a breathtaking view of the colosseum. Our rooms were climate controlled and beautifully lighted. The two nights we stayed (including a Friday) were very quiet. If I go back to Rome, I am staying at this hotel, no doubt about it!
