How to Get There
My daughter and I weren’t staying at this hotel but decided to came here for a cocktail at the bar and to get a good view of the colosseum. We were advised to be there by 6:10-6:15 before the bar opened at 6:30pm as it is especially busy on a Saturday night. We were seated in a lovely room off the foyer when we arrived just after 6 and once the bar opened, were taken to our seats by the maitre d’. We weren’t in the front row facing the colosseum as others had arrived even earlier but we liked where we were sitting and still had a great view. I ordered the ‘Dutch bubble’ cocktail with a lychee liqueur base and it was gorgeous while my daughter had the pina colada which she enjoyed. Cocktails are around 25 euros each. We were given a number of nice snacks with our drinks. Olives, home made crisps, a miniature burger each, raw fish. These, combined with the attentive service and fabulous view in a prime Rome location, for us made the experience well worth doing.
Yes, nice location and beautiful hotel...wait for it...But the staff was marginal at best. Not well organized not very friendly and not helpful. The only shinning star at the hotel was the gentleman who checked us in, His name was Raphael and he is the only one that was professional. BTW the breakfast was not really good.
This hotel is perfectly located in Rome, right next to the Colosseum and within walking distance of everything you want to see/do. The food and drink is very pricey but the hotel is next to a street full of restaurants and ice cream parlors so you can easily find something to suit.
We stayed in one of the junior suites and the view of the colosseum was out of this world. This is is the perfect hotel for a special occasion. - we got engaged here!
If you can’t afford a suite, you will still get spectacular views from the bar and the breakfast room.
The service was impeccable and we had an amazing time. Can’t recommend enough.
