How to Get There
Our original reservation in Rome turned out to be something totally different than what we had expected so arriving to our suite in NH was wonderful. We had travelled for couple of weeks so staying in a beautiful, luxurious hotel was heaven. The bed, pillows, duvet and sheets were the best. We slept really well. The hotel has a gourmet restaurant and very nice room service as well. The hotel is situated right next to the main railway station. I read some other reviews that were not so good and it made me wonder if this hotel has been just recently renovated. Everything we saw was new and clean.
Last year I stayed at the NH property in Rome Giustiniano, and frankly i thought I was staying there again. My mistake. The hotel in via dei Gracchi has a passable lobby, but as soon I went up to the floor, there was a pervasive smell of old gym shoes. The carpeting is old and haphazardly put together in various renovations, the room doors are all banged up and scratched, the impression is a very negative one. The room itself was on the small side with a just adequate bathroom. I was expecting much better and will not be going back.
I arrived early evening and the grumpy old man with glasses informed me there was no booking( his words.) After he managed to find it there was no apology just handed me the plastic card. This is obviously an old hotel that has had a face lift. The carpets in the hallways are tired and the doors look out of place. The room was clean. beds were particulary uncomfortable as were the pillows. We asked for other pillows. No other options were available. The walls are very thin and you can hear guests in other rooms.
The hot breakfast was cold from the meat to the eggs.
Flos lighting and a few brightly colored surfaces don't make a place id like to visit ever again and has tainted my view on the hotel group.
Every two months I stay in Rome for a couple of days.
This hotel offers a good position in the Center of Rome. I love to go out alone or with friends walking in the center of Rome. Major attractions are in the nearby.
Room is clean, but they still offer two different standard: the “old” ones and the “new” ones. This time I haven’t been lucky because I have had the old one. The door didn’t close perfectly and the furniture and bathroom didn’t meet my expectations.
Breakfast is a various buffet.
Services are ok. I forgot my smartphone-charger at home and they gave me one in two minutes. I asked for room-service at dinner and I have had a good menu and fast service. Fast and effective check-in and check-out.
This was a nice NH with recent renovations and some ongoing renovations while we stayed there but they were not a major disruption. The hotel was in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to many things. We loved walking across the bridge to the Piazzo del Popolo to find great restaurants and easy shopping. This also connected us to the Spanish steps so the location was quite good. Easy walk to Vatican with great cafes along the way!
