Disappointing stay
Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I came to Rome with our baby son for a long weekend. Whilst we loved the city, we both found the hotel disappointing. They were very accommodating by putting a travel cot in our room upon arrival, however the facilities and staff did not warrant their 5 stars.

Staff - mostly aloof and unwelcoming.

Service - lacking 5 star treatment (e.g housekeeping leaving our swimsuits in the beeday, replenishing coffee only for a €10 euro fee)

Facilities - holes in bed sheet, stain in shower floor, cracks on floor, dated and cheap decor. Gym is tiny (approximately 5 pieces of equipment) and only opens at 10am. Lack of choice in television channels.

For approximately £300 per night, you would maybe expect breakfast included too.

Location - great. Within walking distance of all the main sites

Needs loads of improvement to become a 5 star

Agree with a lot of reviews, its not a 5 star for many reasons. No utilities in the room (tea, soaps are not replaced regularly etc). Gym is tiny and isnt clean. The equipment is old, treadmill has no timer, showers have no shower gel or soap. There is no service at the hotel.

On the good side, the rooms are bigger than in some old roman hotels, the area is quiet (across from US embassy), the rooms have good thick walls so you dont hear next door neighbors. Its walking distance to spanish steps, pantheon, fontana di trevi, shops (15-20min). Coop grocery is about 10 min walk.

The hotel could be so much better if the management took better care of it. Not sure if id want to stay here again.

Good room and great location - but not 5*

First of all this hotel is in a great location and our room was big, clean and with a great balcony and a view. But this hotel is not a 5 star hotel. It’s 4 on a good day tbh. Staff a little cold and aloof. But for me the downer was not being able to get a coffee before 7am, on top of no tea/coffee in room! Call me an old git - but this is a key thing for me any where in the world - being able to make a cuppa in my room.

Our room was perfect. It was quaint and charming and even though we didn't have a terrace we had this big beautiful window that opened wide.
Large bathrooms comfortable beds. The hotel staff were amazing, food was fantastic, great location. Would definitely return.

4 Days in Rome
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This was my second time to Rome in a year. The first time I stayed more central to the Pantheon and this time chose this location. The hotel is across from the US Embassy and close to the Borghese Palace. Unfortunately the Barberini station was closed which was unfortunate, it's a 15 min walk to Ave Corso. Our room was on the first floor and beautiful and large for three of us, each room is slightly different. The staff is great and helpful and breakfast was delicious.
