Just outside of rome

This hotel was gorgeous, warm welcome by staff, beautiful decor and spacious room- all at a good price. However the location is not ideal - we knew this in advance, but it is not right If you are wanting to pop into Rome. However, the shuttles were so well organised by the hotel and we had a number to arrange and change this when we were out and about. The all day restaurant was good and had nice views and the skybar was luxurious. However, we expected something a little more for evening dinner- we were just left with a buffet and a wedding party to compete with.

All in all a lovely stay at a good price and perfect for what we wanted out of Rome!

Great stay in Rome

This hotel is impeccable! It's a bit from the main area of Rome, but we did not have any problems walking to the tram and getting where we needed to go. We also used their shuttle one day and it was prompt.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We stayed in an executive room with free access to the Spa. The hotel is very clean with very friendly and helpful staff; for example, one of the staff members booked tickets on our behalf for us to visit the Colosseum. The breakfast spread was amazing, with a large variety of food to choose from. Although the hotel is not situated in the city centre, you can get public transport or use the hotel shuttle service to take you into the heart of Rome. I most definitely recommend! 10/10 for a romantic and exclusive feel hotel.

Worst hotel experience ever. Rip off.

We have made a reservation on the arrival date. We have chosen this hotel because I wanted to swim with my son of 5 in the pool. It was May and almost 30 degrees outside. On the website is not mentioned that the pool would be closed. When we arrived at the hotel, hotel management made clear that the pool is closed. No appologies were made and no compensation was offered. A big discussion developed. The manager stated that the pool was 'complimentary', implying that we paid for the room not for the rest.
Hotel staff was so rude that we suggested to cancel the entire reservation and refund the total amount paid. Hotel staff did not mention this would be impossible, so we were convinced that hotel staff accepted the cancellation and went off. When we left the guest relations supervisor eventually tried to convince us to stay, but we were so angry about the way we were treated that we left. Now A.Roma refuses to pay back the amount paid of over €300,-. This is a total rip off and ruined our vacation.

Disappointing hotel, dull location

We travelled to Rome for 4 days in May 2018 and were looking forward to staying in the Aroma Hotel. The hotel is a large modern complex approx 30 minutes away from the airport and 30 minutes from Rome via their shuttle bus service or the local transport. They ran 3 different shuttle bus destinations, Vatican city, Trastevere and Spanish steps. The first two were 2 Euro per person each way and the Spanish steps were 5 Euro per person each way. There is a very good, regular (every 5 minutes at peak times) tram service (number 8) which takes you into Rome just as quickly (less than 25 minutes) for 1.5 Euro but is is approx 10 minutes walk from the Hotel down and up a hill. There is a bus (number 98) 5 minutes walk from the Hotel which also takes you into Rome for 1.5 Euro but we did not use this so I cannot say how long the journey is.
If you intend to use the spa facilities of the Hotel (indoor pool etc) this has a charge of 15 euro per person per day.
There is also an additional local tax of 6 Euro per person per day (upto 10 days).
The Aroma is a large hotel so breakfast can be a little crowded.
Because of its remote location there is nothing in the local area worth mentioning, its a quiet place with little atmosphere.
There is one restaurant (approx 5 minutes walk).
Whilst there is nothing wrong with the Aroma hotel, there are over 5000 hotels in Rome and I can't help but think there are better hotels in better locations offering similar facitities and better value. Rome was wonderful and when we return it will be to a different Hotel.
