All-suite, casino-free sanctuary just off the Strip, with three pools and direct access to the excitement of MGM Grand
The Signature has no casino, so there's no ding-ding-ding of the slot machines driving you mad. In fact, everything in this three-tower, all-suite hotel is designed to soothe, from the smoke-free policy to the earth-toned rooms, the lush floral arrangements to the sanctuary-like lobby. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the outside world, including some overlooking the Mojave Desert. Some also have petite step-out balconies (a rarity in Vegas) with views of the Strip or the mountains. Subtle and sophisticated, the suites don't skimp on luxury with high-thread-count sheets, cushy carpeting and designer kitchen appliances. Even the smallest studios are generously sized, with a sleeping area partly separated from the lounge by an opaque panel. Each of the Signature's trio of high-rise towers features a private heated pool with cabanas and cocktail service. Head next door to the much more crowded (but also fun) MGM Grand resort pool complex, with its lazy river ride and sizzling Wet Republic pool club (open seasonally). Back at the Signature, the takeout deli, coffee shop and bar will keep you from starving or getting too thirsty. But for superstar chefs, a bevy of specialty bars (from whiskey to wine and craft beer), live shows such as Cirque du Soleil's Ká and the chic nightclub Hakkasan, you'll have to walk next door to the MGM Grand. Book ahead for a Zen hot stone massage or citrus-salt body scrub at the tranquil Asian-inspired spa.
In the Area
Toward the southern end of the Strip, the MGM Grand is a perfect home base for exploring Las Vegas Boulevard on foot or via the monorail. Traipse north to the ersatz Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas casino, then cross Flamingo Boulevard for a stroll down the LINQ, the Strip's newest shopping, dining and entertainment complex. Towering over it is the world's tallest observation wheel, High Roller; a nighttime ride gives the best neon light views. After dark, make reservations for the star chef fare at Aria followed by Cirque de Soleil's Zarkana or drinks at the bi-level behemoth Haze nightclub. For a little retro fun, take the short taxi ride to the Pinball Hall of Fame, the world’s largest collection of machines, or head to the Neon Boneyard, the final resting place of the city’s glittering signs. Have a need for speed? Suit up and put the pedal to the metal at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, where you can drive yourself or ride along with an expert.
