How to Get There
Great location in Playa Blanca we stayed all inclusive unlike other hotels we have stayed at most alcoholic drinks are the origional brands not cheap copies. Food was excellent with a number of themed restaurants that are well worth a visit. There is a special show on Friday and Monday with food included we were lucky enough to attend this as numbers are limited so book as soon as you arrive well worth a visit. Usual entertainment but special mention to a quartet of men who were fantastic cant remember exactly their name but was something fusion. There are a number of professional photographers on sight we had a number of lovely photos taken during our stay by Alessandro who is very helpful and very patient a credit to his employer. Lastly we had one minor complaint on our arrival we spoke with Georgia (apologies if spelt wrongly) from the hotel who went above and beyond to help us during our stay thank you again Georgia a credit to H10 hotels.
Stayed for a second time from 28th Nov to 9th Dec. We went Privilege as we had done this before and I prefer to be served food rather than queue at a buffet for food that’s been sitting out for a while. I also love not having to queue at reception when checking in.
Iker in the privilege (Volcan) restaurant was excellent again. His knowledge and attention to detail makes it worth while. When he was off for 2 days you can see the difference in service. But all staff in there were excellent, but a couple went above and beyond. Food was always excellent, but after a few days I struggled to finish everything. There was always a set menu with duck, steak, lamb and fish options. And a part that changed every day. Scallops were good as were the quail eggs.
The privilege room next to the reception is also great. But you do get some guests who spoil it. One such couple in their 30s from possible Finland / Sweden area just left their plates and glasses outside. We pointed out that there was a sign asking you to return then and we got abuse back stating that’s why there are waiters. But there are none in that room they only come in every hour to check and tidy up after ignorant people like that.
Rooms were just ok. They seemed to be standard rooms with a mini bar and I didn’t feel they were cleaned as good as last time and we didn’t get much of a turn down service. Two chocolates put at the side of the bed and that was it.
We used the spa for a couple of hours one day and it was good. Except we had to buy flip flops as we didn’t have any with us. Was nice and relaxing in the pool etc.
The Piano bar was also excellent and we were in there most nights. Few times the waiter got our orders wrong, but all in all they were good.
Entertainment was also good in the main room and the piano bar. Again spoilt a couple of times by ignorant guests.
Sports bar was good also and spent one night there until closing then took our drinks outside.
Weather for that time of year was great and we had 29 one day and 26 most others, but it was a bit chilly late on at night
Out and about was good. It was costing us between 5 and 6 euro for a taxi into town and the other marina. This was ok as there was 4 of us. We also got a taxi to Puerto Del Carmen. We got in the taxi and asked to goto the bus station and he offered to take us all the way for 32 euro. Worked out only a couple of euro extra per person. And coming back we managed to get it for 30 euro which was even better as we worked it out it was probably around 6 to 7 euro on the bus each.
H10 rubicon palace is a beautiful and iconic place and you are offered champagne when you first arrive and the staff are very helpful and kind. Omar who helped me on treating my girlfriend to something special for her birthday was very kind to let us have access to the spa and a bottle of champagne in celebration of my girlfriend. As soon as I mentioned the celebration he was the first to help. So thank you Omar and H10 rubicon palace! I would recommend this place to Anyone!
We stayed here last week of November and spent a week at the hotel. This is publicised as a 5-star hotel, and I wouldn't class it like that. For the number of guests that go through this hotel, I honestly don't think its possible to provide a 5-star service to everyone. What the hotel does do is provide the best possible experience within the bounds of the resources available. I also think we went off-peak, so I actually maybe wouldn't want to go here during peak.
We went with our 18-month-old little girl, and she had an amazing time. The kid's creche was excellent. Again possibly because there weren't many people at the hotel, she almost had 1:1 attention and care at the creche. (better than her nursery in the UK!). The entertainment team were really, really brilliant. Very engaging, very enthusiastic and really keen to help in any way possible. Huge compliments to that team. The kid's disco was amazing. Every day it was the highlight of our Little girls day.
Our room was clean. Good size. We paid a little extra for the sea view, which I think was worth it. We were also just outside the kid's pools too which was great.
Foodwise - the buffet was, well a buffet. Food cooked on mass, so not the best in the world, but good enough.
We tried to go to one of the a la carte restaurant, and per other feedback, we found the restaurants (which had to be booked separately) seemed to have poor availability at all times. We tried to book the Italian restaurant for 6.45pm on a weekday, and the booking system showed 1 seat available. (that's a table for 1!) This was really fishy. I spoke to a representative who somehow managed to get a table for three booked in. When we went to the restaurant it was dead. We were the only ones there with lots of staff pretty much looking for things to do. I really didn't understand why.
The location of the hotel is also wonderful... There is a promenade which is accessible from the hotel grounds that lets you walk along the seafront. You can walk about 15 mins to Flamingo beach which is a lovely little cove where you can swim and has a lovely beach.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for young families, and would definitely go again.
This was a second stay for us and went privilege package which was fantastic. The rooms are by the sea in a quiet area and would recommend. Plenty of pools to choose from if you want busy or quiet. A la Cart restaurant with a daily special and fabulous staff led by their manager Iker. It’s a large hotel but you never feel crowded. Great walk along promenade and a harbour and marina not too far away, a longish walk, bike ride, taxi or bus available. Plenty of parking if you hire a car. We had fab weather, fab food and such a lovely chilled time.
