How to Get There
The hotel is a really nice place to stay but unfortunately the service lets the place down. It is not a brand new place and is beginning to look a little tired. I would definately stay again if the level of service were to improve to that of a 5* hotel.
We last stayed at the Rubicon 3 years whilst it was undergoing renovations, next door to Natuala Palace hotel which was have also stayed out. At the time walkways were rope off and jack hammers breaking up the old tiles. At the time didn't bother us as there were plenty of areas to lay out. We fully enjoyed all aspects of the Rubicon.
The food was in the two main restaurants was great as was the themed restaurants. The snack bar near the pool was fantastic and popular with the younger guests, always stocked up with fresh food.
We recently visited as a group and the place now looks fantastic.
We wouldn't hesitate to return again. This is a large hotel set on a sloping site, so there is plenty of walking depending on your room block.
Well laid out hotel, 5* price but definitely not 5* service. To date l have been conflicting information from the reception desk on how to obtain drinking water on half board. Having been told it was included and given water, subsequently and embarrassingly told l had to pay. Poor coffee service in breakfast restaurant, poor used plates removal, as per previous comments too few staff. Witnessed long queues at bars waiting for service. I have had indifferent service from housekeeping, l have faulty furniture in my room including a non-flushing toilet that took two phone calls and 5hrs to fix, the arm on the sofa is just leaning on the sofa despite my asking to have it attached, the airer on the balcony needs fixing to the wall properly, l have asked still not fixed. Today the room was not cleaned and l had to contact reception again. There is good news when a ring was dropped in to the sink a technician arrived within 30mins and retrieved it. Lastly, and a health and safety warning, the room has a sheet of glass on the writing table, it has sharp exposed corners which l have discovered to my own detriment, a cut to my leg, just as well l am not on blood thinners like a majority of holiday makers here. Lots of good reviews on trip advisor but l will not be returning.
