The Lowdown

With its dramatic, lunar-like landscape, Lanzarote is the most striking of the Canary Islands. Add piercing blue skies, warm seas and hours of unbroken sunshine and you have the recipe for holiday success.
Located in the coastal resort of Playa Blanca, H10 Rubicon Palace is one of the rising stars of this multi-award-winning hotel group. Designed in the style of a modern Moorish palace, it’s a low-rise affair positioned near the sea. Adding another string to its already attractive bow, it now boasts brand new sea-view Chill Out Terrace, while a couple of its impressive array of seven eateries have also benefited from a smart refurb.
Facilities here are wide-ranging and cater to all, so you can be as active or lazy as you wish. With a staggering five adult-only swimming pools, (one heated in winter, another salt water) whether you want to do serious laps or simply float your cares away, you’ll find somewhere to do it.
The hotel’s flagship Despacio Thalasso Spa offers a deliciously slow pace of life, while you can up the excitement factor with a spot of mini-golf or beach volleyball. If you fancy a change of scenery, take a day trip to the idyllic isle of Fuerteventura or to the wild and wonderful Timanfaya National Park. For all this and more, H10 Rubicon Palace seamlessly garnered a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Very good hotel

The hotel was excellent, the rooms are smart and clean, the bars bistros and restaurants are fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly...particularly Jurgen in the COOE Bistro.

It was pretty cloudy most days during our stay, which we gather is pretty par for the course in Lanzarote, we walked to the Marina (which is lovely) a couple of days but other than that there didn't seem a huge amount to do in Playa Blanca. Thankfully the H10 Rubicon Palace is such a good hotel and the facilities were excellent, so we had a lovely trip.

Stayed here on a half board privilege package with my 82 year old Mum. Staff were marvellous from reception through to restaurant. Volcan restaurant marvellous and maitre d Iker excellent. Room was lovely with excellent views only complaint air con was not good. Loved the privilege bar and terrace but could do with a few umbrellas for more shade. The spa is excellent well worth a visit. Great stay will be back

Best hotel in Playa Blanca!

We loved our stay at this hotel! We booked 2 rooms & were very pleased to be next door to each other. We did panic at first as we were put into a van to be DRIVEN to our room! But don't worry, it's only so they don't have to wheel you past the pools! The complex is big but you don't miss out on anything wherever you are situated! We actually preferred to be by a quieter pool :) The room & bathroom were both really nice and spacious. At the start of the week there were no complaints however as the week went on the cleaning of the room unfortunately deteriorated - dead cockroaches being left & only 1 towel between 2 people. The main parts of the hotel were very luxurious with the most amazing views! There is a bus stop literally right outside the front of the hotel which made exploring super easy! & to the back of the hotel is the promenade where you can choose to walk into the town/main beaches instead :) The food at the hotel was wonderful, we were half board & had lots of choice at both breakfast & dinner! We stayed at a 5* in Cyprus last year & were really impressed with the food but this hotel was even better :) The staff were all very nice & helpful & the entertainment was a real variety of acts! We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel & would choose this hotel again if we were to revisit Playa Blanca :)

Great relaxing week – go all inclusive!

Myself and my boyfriend (24 and 23) stayed for a week at the Rubicon.

The hotel grounds are complex are magnificent – large, modern, beautifully decorated and clean.

There are multiple large pools all over the resort, so you can soak up the atmosphere at the main pool or have a quiet swim nearer the outskirts. Our room was immaculate and had a fantastic pool view.

The staff are super helpful and welcoming, especially at meal times.

There are multiple restaurants onsite, some of which you have to book (if you're staying for a week you're allowed three bookings). We'd recommend the steak house! But all places serve great-tasting food.

There's entertainment in the evening, although we preferred to walk into Playa Blanca. There's a bus service every 30 minutes or so outside of the hotel that takes around 12 minutes to get you to the marina. But if you prefer a nice walk, it's about 45 minutes from the hotel – you get a wonderful sea view the entire way. Plus Flamingo Beach is worth a visit which is on the way to the marina. The marina has lots of eateries and bars that cater for everyone.

Our only issue was that we felt the hotel catered more towards all inclusive guests than half board guests (which we were). Half board guests still have to pay for drinks and snacks in between your two free meals. And it's done in a way that we weren't used to – you collect drink and snack receipts throughout your stay then pay what you owe at the end. So make sure if you're half board that you don't spend all of your money and forget about this!

Aside from the confusion over this we had a lovely, relaxing break and would definitely visit again.
