The Canary isle of Lanzarote is a year-round holiday favourite, with seemingly endless sunshine, a raft of sandy beaches and a laid-back vibe. A little way inland from the golden sands of Costa Teguise’s Las Cucharas beach, Club Siroco Adults Only is a peaceful retreat. The hotel’s Serenity Area forms an even quieter part of the hotel’s complex, with its own separate pool and bar creating air of exclusivity and calm.
The gleaming white low-rise apartments are grouped around the tranquil swimming pool, complete with water jets. Sway in a hammock on your balcony, relax on one of many poolside loungers or amble to the Chill Out bar for a well-mixed cocktail or two. If you can rouse yourself from the serious business of tanning, you’ll find a range of activities on hand, including tennis, volleyball, ping pong, mini golf, darts and billiards.
How to Get There
We visited here a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely week. The hotel is immaculate as are the gardens. The staff were very welcoming. Our apartment was on the top floor and was comfortable (although the bathroom was a bit dated (no plug for the bath so had to shower every time -,the shower head was an old one and wobbled around so we complained and it was changed)). We were bed and breakfast and the breakfast was wonderful - plenty of selection for all tastes.
Stayed here for a week at the end of January with my elderly parents in a standard 2 bedroom apartment. We were allocated a room on the top floor which wasn’t great for them but the lovely girl on reception quickly reallocated us to a ground floor on request. Very spacious and comfortable with only the odd “niggle” - there were no plug sockets near a mirror and the only mirror was in the bathroom! Also no curtain lining in the curtains so as we were on the ground floor we had to keep the curtains closed if we wanted privacy. Only very minor points though and didn’t detract from a wonderful stay. We did notice that lots of rooms did have linings in the curtains. Apartment could do with modernising really but it’s very clean with comfortable beds and very good shower. Also plenty of storage space in the bedrooms unlike many of the more modern hotels and apartments. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. We never had dinner there as there are lots of lovely places to eat in the town. Pool area was spotless and cleaned every day. Bonus that it’s adults only so no kids in the pool. Location wise it’s ideal really - a short stroll from the main square but there are shops and bars on the way too. Overall a lovely accommodation in a decent resort. Travelled with Jet2 Holidays who offer free resort check in too which is an added bonus. Would definitely stay again and recommend
Booked this hotel for a relaxing break after a very busy Xmas. Unfortunately relaxing was the last thing you get here! Unbeknown to us there was the Soulanza event going on which was basically a soul music ( the worst music ever ) event which attracted loud drunken people taking over the whole bar area for most of the day! This does not allow you to relax. Thanks Sirocco. This was not mentioned to us by our holiday provider Jet2 and a complaint will be lodged firmly with them!! We asked for a high floor with a pool view, we got a high floor with a non pool view though this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it meant we could sit on our balcony and chill out away from the riots going on around the bar area, so we do thank the the hotel for that. Food was generally good especially the Mexican night, the alcohol....well we never got any as we did not want, or bear to go near the bar area. Soulanza do your events in pubs not hotels where people go for a holiday or break!!!!. Room was spacious and Costa Teguise was delightful and will definitely return....just not to this hotel.
We booked because Jet2 advertised the hotel as quiet and relaxing. It was for 3 days, then the Soulanza week long party arrived. I'm not blaming the Party goers they booked for a fun, lively week. What I don't understand is why the other guests were not informed that this event was scheduled. I was just recovered from 3 months treatment for a stress related condition. I would have booked anywhere but here. Between noon and 5pm the bar/pool area was the site of the party. As the Soulanza group were all inclusive, the bar was effectively out of use. We tried to stay on our balcony but it was impossible to relax. We ended up having to leave the hotel to try and find some peace. I think that the situation that the hotel presented to both us and the Soulanza clients was unfair. They didn't want old gits like me there and would have been able to party all day and night at higher volume if they had had exclusive use of the hotel. I just needed some peace which unfortunately wasn't available. My ulcer has now returned (more bloody tests and treatment) and although the doctor can't say that it was due to the stress of this holiday, I don't think it helped. I would advise prospective clients to check what events may be organised for the dates they want before booking.
We booked a week in the club siroco part of the complex and if I'm being honest we were not happy with the room we were allocated, everything on its last legs and sockets and light switches siliconed on.
The major problem was the sewage smell from the bathroom which got steadily worse until we could stand it no more and asked to be moved rooms.
This is where the review gets better.
Caterina upgraded us for the last 2 days of our stay to the serenity section and i can't tell you the contrast.
It was superb. The pool, the room, Federo the bar man was amazing with his fantastic cocktails.
The breakfasts are as good as I've had abroad so that's another positive.
Our week also coincided with the Soulanza party.
Although it didn't particularly bother us the 200 strong group were very loud and it caused problems with guests who sought a quiet holiday.
They were all inclusive so obviously that didn't help.
All in all an enjoyable holiday but definitely book serenity, i wouldn't re book the club.
