Le Cise hotel offers the perfect romantic getaway in the picturesque Bay of the Somme region of France. Perched on top of chalky cliffs boasting stunning scenery all year round, the hotel is located a stone’s throw away from St-Valéry-sur-Somme, Pointe du Hourdel and Le Tréport, so there’s plenty to explore and an abundance of natural beauty to soak up during your stay.
You’ll find your private lodge in the striking Lodge Beau Site, situated 500 metres from the main reception of the hotel, in the heart of well-maintained and tranquil grounds. In your secluded accommodation, you’ll enjoy all the benefits offered by the hotel but with the added intimacy of cosying up in your own lodge.
Your ‘cabin in the woods’ style accommodation benefits from the recent addition of a swimming pool, a Finnish sauna and an outdoor Jacuzzi, which are perfect for taking a dip in after a long walk exploring the natural beauty of the region. Make sure you don’t miss the elegant dining at Le Poisson à Hélices restaurant, where you’ll find a tempting menu of gourmet dishes, great wine and incredible sea views.
How to Get There
A great location, a pretty town. We were put in a distant old building. the room was ok but we had to drag our stuff there. The restaurant is good, if you dont mind spending 170 euro for 2 people. So all in all a nice place but all prices a bit too high
Unimpressive decor and service at a ridiculous premium. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, and almost worth the expense, but the hotel itself is entirely disappointing. Our dinner at the restaurant was similarly sub par: mediocre service, overcooked fish, and a twenty minute wait for melted, crystalline ice cream. Won't be making a return visit, in spite of the gorgeous coastline!
The location and the view from Le Cise were great but the service and the value for money were very poor. The breakfast was a poky affair with a small crowded space to accommodate all guests and then to be charged through the nose for the privilege - very disappointing. The rooms were basic, the beds were comfy but don't expect the wifi to work.
Let’s start on the positivist. The food was very good and the location is excellent and it was nice to sit out on the decking.
The negatives. On Arrival outside the hotel all the staff were all sitting on benches eating they pack lunches and smoking (does look good). The reception and waiting staff were rude. We booked in advance and were told to arrive on time, which we did, 3 mins early, and was asked to wait outside, but not told where, other guest arrived and were more bullish than us and just sat down. We asked for our table and in a huff the waitress wonder around found us a table. We were not asked if we wanted an aperitif and the whole service was poor with 3 different waiting staff serving us.
The Hotel is set in a lovely location, but the gardens need work and there was lots of litter around
High cost, good food, poor service, ground need improving
Why is the bread served in a brown paper carrier bag?
PS My Wife and I both speak French!!,
We stayed at Le Cise for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment with our toddler. We had an absolutely lovely stay. The hotel is divided into different buildings and our apartment was approximately 80meters away from the main building/restaurant. There was a fair few (42) stairs to get to our apartment (and no elevator so just be aware) but the apartment was great! Two lovely sized bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen plus a bathroom. Views towards the little garden area.
Knowing a little bit of french is recommended as only a few of the staff members (especially in the restaurant) speak english, but we got along well and google translate is handy to have out :) Breakfast was great (an additional 18 euros per person, children included) and the two dinners we had there were very good!
The beach beneath the hotel is great fun for big and small to explore!
