Folds of Honor 2019
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I would highly recommend Camden On The Lake Resort as I stayed there recently during the Folds of Honor event. Fabulous accommodations with a huge room and one of a kind view of the lake. I enjoyed the new menu at H. Toad's, loved the shrimp dish and the smoked loin. The service was great! They were very attentive and knowledgeable and the entertainment was over the top!

Very cool hotel with nice layout. Really enjoyed the pool and restaurant. The boat docks are perfect for docking and keeping the boat. The entire area is very nice within walking distance to Shady Gators and Lazy Gators.

Anniversary Getaway
Reviewed 2 months ago

After searching the internet for a place to spend our anniversary getaway, we decided on Camden on the lake. We called Camden on the Lake to check with details and amenities before booking thru them instead of a 3rd party. We was told, secured gate parking, pool, hot tub, bar and restaurant, family friendly but would have live music so expect it to be a little loud until at least 1am. We booked the corner suite so we could have a great view of the lake and a large enough balcony we could relax and watch the boats from. The room was gorgeous upon arrival. We did notice a $150 overcharge on our credit card and when asked nobody at the front desk knew where the amount came from. They left a note in the supervisors box and we were told they would call the next morning. By mid afternoon we had received no call so we went to the front desk and was told by a very unfriendly "supervisor" that it was for a $50 per night incidental charge. We were never informed of this charge when we called asking about the hotel, nor was it listed anywhere online or in the email we received one week prior to arriving when we paid our one night deposit. We went to Toads to catch a bite to eat since we had traveled over 6 1/2 hours to get there but found the food to be seriously overpriced and very dry. (same for the room service we ordered which came from the same place) The next day we ventured out to eat and came back to a completely full parking lot with nowhere to park and an open gate. (1st day of the "season") When asking at the desk about this we were told they no longer close the gate unless they are really full. (We observed this for 3 days...not once was the gate closed) We tried for 3 days to use the hot tub and pool but each day it was filled with drunk obnoxious people not staying at the hotel but coming in on boats and was told by the desk that they have an open pool and open hot tub for anyone to use. (We asked what exactly our resort charge was for since obviously everything at this hotel is public...and the lady at the desk said she had no idea) Nights were extremely loud as you are hearing different music from each Shady Gators, Toads, and the small pool area which was underneath our corner suite room, not to mention the screaming and profanity. We found this hotel to not be family friendly in the least. There was loud obscene rap music playing, drunken half naked young adults running around spilling alcohol into the pool and screaming until ungodly hours in the night. We witnessed many people being helped onto boats because they were too drunk to walk back there themselves. This went on the ENTIRE 3 days we were there. I could understand if these people were at least hotel guests using the parking area, hot tub and pool but we watched boat after boat unload into the pool area and fill the parking lot. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway or a family friendly vacation. If you are between the ages of 18-25 and looking for a party place, you may enjoy it. (However Shady Gators across the way seemed to be packed even more with people having a much better time)

Could be 5 stars but missing details
Reviewed 4 months ago

A couple of things and then I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Please place liquid dish soap for guests to wash their own dishes in the suites. After peering into your room coffee maker, I’m not certain the dishes are clean.

Lighting in rooms should be cohesive and clean. Not some mismatched, headache inducing eyesore. Literally, one bulb out in the living room altogether and two mismatched bulbs in the bedroom.

For a business person and a “resort” amenity, I would think that you would have pen & paper in all the rooms. I had to use a pizza box to take down info from the front desk! Also, there are 3 phones in room 512. None of which have any instructions on how to contact the front desk. I just hit “0” and miraculously got the front desk.

Giving front line hotel staff 5 stars! Housekeeping is getting 3. Look at the pictures and you will understand! Otherwise, I have now stayed in most of the “resorts” down here and this is the best of all of them. I will be back and post again.

Thrilled. Small hiccups when we got there but the front desk staff took care of them quickly and efficiently. Loved being there "off season" so we could enjoy the scenery without distraction. Definitely recommend to anyone. Stay on the sixth floor. LOL
