How to Get There
We stayed at this beautiful hotel as part of our babymoon in Ticino.
The staff were excellent and very kindly upgraded us to a suite which was truly wonderful with balconies, an enormous spa bathroom, kitchen and living area. Definitely one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in.
The spa was compact but well appointed and I enjoyed a pregnancy massage with a good therapist. Sadly the weather was a little cool to enjoy the outdoor pool but has amazing views.
Breakfasts with a super view and nice selection completed a fabulous and luxurious stay. Thanks for making the break so special !
All rooms and suits offer magnificent view on Locarno and Lake Maggiore. Thanks to the large windows and the southward orientation, the hotel's minimalist interior design bathes all day in a floodlight. Having breakfast in the rising sun or dinner at sunset on the hotel's terrace is truly a unique experience.
You can find great Italian and international cuisine in its fine dining restaurant. Worth to try, such as the hotel's spa and wellness section, where you can find sauna, steam room and aroma room, massage and beauty services. As well as the jacuzzi and massage for couples, which promise you a truly romantic experience. Explore!
The beautiful Villa Orselina, a five-star boutique hotel, stands on the hillside above Locarno just next to the stunning church of Madonna del Sasso. It commands panoramic views over Locarno and Lake Maggiore.
The style throughout reminds you of a light and breezy Mediterranean villa with its terra-cotta terraces and white decor. The rooms are all decorated in clean, crisp shades of cream and white. Of the 28 rooms on offer, 15 have fantastic private balconies with comfy sun beds. The rooms are all spacious and the larger suites feel like a private apartment.
I had a very spacious suite, with a proper living area, a sleeping area and a fantastic terrace. The suite came with a beautiful marble bathroom with a bathtub and a spacious walk-in shower. The bathroom was full of nice little touches including a lovely range of Molton Brown amenities, a jar of bath salts, and a water proof pillow to relax your head on whilst having a bath.
The Villa has a surprisingly large spa for a boutique hotel, with six light and airy treatment rooms (yes, with actual day light!), it offers two different types of steam rooms, a sauna, a small indoor pool and a well-equipped but compact gym with gorgeous views on the gardens and a tennis court.
This was the 4th hotel on our 5 day Italy/Swiss golf trip and for an all round hotel experience it was definitely the best. The view down to Ascona and across the lake is fabulous. We were very fortunate to be given an upgrade which meant that we really were living in total luxury. We ate in their restaurant once, a delightful meal served by charming staff who recommended some excellent local Swiss wines. Their breakfast offering was absolutely fabulous - everything from fresh fruit, meat, cheese, pastries, omelette, yoghurt ...... were on offer. Secure parking is available just a couple of minutes down and the road, but the staff are more than happy to park/deliver your car. We didn't visit the pool or spa, but I have no doubt they are as good as the rest of the hotel.
Just wow! This place is gorgeous. Position up in the hills above the lake is perfect. Hotel is awesome, restaurant, pool, public areas... all top notch. Greeted with comp drinks on the balcony, valet parking and a free upgrade to a suite. You could live comfortably in one of these. Can't fault this place. Go. We will, again.
