How to Get There
Lovely trip Coffee in the lounge on arrival whilst waiting for rest of party to arrive Angelica and Monica very helpful Very comfortable stay maybe not suitable for anyone having difficulty getting in and out baths for showers as no grab rails. Full English breakfasts and heaps of coffee or tea toast etc lots of choices would definitely stay again short walk to town centre and short car ride to Bowness-on-Windermere as bit of a hill walking back from there
Visited this guest house for 1 night, it was located it a perfect spot Windermere village one side and Bowness the other. The staff are lovely and friendly. Especially Monika. We were shown to our room it was called the Windergill. It was beautiful and clean, and had a spa bathtub.
We had robes and slippers and they had even put Rose petals on our bed. The Howbeck is such a lovely place I would definitely recommend it, there was nothing negative I could say about it!
We have just returned from staying at the Howbeck for 4 nights.
The Howbeck staff ( lovely team of ladies ) could not do enough for you. The Guest House is very relaxing, and in a perfect location of just 2 min walk to the little town and a 15 minute walk or £4.00 taxi to Bowness where there is more bars and retaurants and the Lake trips.
Breaksfast was of a very high standard, excellent quality of produe and personalised to exactly what your taste is, and cooked perfectly. The customer service and warmth of staff is so lovely, particuary Monica who we believe really wants you to have the very best experience and as i said nothing is too much trouble.
We had such a great nights sleep, quiet and the bed very comfortable, the only slight critism is that we could not turn the radiator down so very hot but i am sure if we asked it would have happily been rectified.( possibly thermostatic control would do this) ( this is certainly not a Travel Lodge having just read a previous review) , the breakfast was plentiful and any extras would have been provided as the staff wanted to make sure it catered to your wishes.
Plenty off car parking space and although narrow ok it is ok to anyone can drive normally.
Overall our stay was made special due to the hospitality of staff, brillant breakfast, comfy bed, perfect location.
Thank you Howbeck Team, the ladies are a fab team.
We may upgrade again to the downstairs extra luxary room, appreciate the 15% discount for next visit.
Me and my partner had a lovely stay in the Retreat Suite at the Howbeck, the bathroom was fantastic and the bed was really comfortable. Great service from the staff and overall a brilliant and relaxing experience.
