How to Get There
We hosted all of our wedding guests here to stay during our destination wedding in Cap Cana for a wonderful and fun week. We had about 60 guests and Punta Palmera was the perfect location to host a large group of people. It is not your conventional hotel and thus the perfect setting if you are looking for a private, secluded area where your group can mingle and enjoy themselves without the crowds you would usually find at the all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Our guest felt that they had an exclusive, luxury property all to themselves. The area was serene and peaceful, and right on the water. The apartments were spacious, nicely decorated, and extremely accommodating! We were able to host a "Welcome party" on the property the night before the wedding with the help of the wonderful staff. We also even took our "First look" photos on the property. The owner, Alejandro and the coordinator, Gerardo, were both wonderful to work with! We are very grateful to them for making our wedding week memorable!

These great apartments overlooking the sea/beach and with an amazing view of the pool are just about that. The place is beautiful and has potential but half the project is unfinished which kind of leta you down. You feel like walking through a ghost town. I personally just love going because of the view from the pool and because its usually quiet, but the beach is never very clean. They do have restaurant service at the pool which is a plus, but if they took better care of it, it would definitely be a lot better!
My visit to the hotel was kind of the first time in Dominican Republic. Didn’t knew where is everything.
Booked it through booking and then discovered that cap Cana is an extremely nice (let’s say village or compound) it got a very high security which is good. But it is far from Bavaro (where you can find everything) so if you want to stay within the hotel I would say this is a good place.
The hotel is very good, they have everything, the stuff is friendly and always laughing. The room is clean, and awesome.
I had a room overlooking the ocean but not on the first line but I included a jacuzzi during my booking so it was awesome.
I think families will like it very much.
Pool is not bad I didn’t swim but looks like nice.
The good in cap Cana everything is accessible by club car at all the hotels.
An image worth a thousand words.
This is NOT a resort. Breakfast was offered for only two hours.
After complaining about the adjacent room, I was offered to be mover to another room.
I would have never stayed a minute longer.
Disappointing is the softest word I can say about the hotel.
Unfortunately, I just had a disappointing and infuriating experience at this apartment complex. Yes, it is nothing more than an apartment community. Not a resort. Not a hotel. I will get to the bad part at the end of this review. That said, the studios are very large, immaculate, and comfortable. That is the single redeeming quality about this property. It is technically located on a water front, however the beach is not suitable for swimming. The pool is very large, clean and well maintained.
They claim to have a restaurant...meh, not really. Just some overpriced fish sticks and perhaps another four options on a very limited menu suited for children.
The community is obviously suffering from some kind of economic decline. It is desolate, in the process of repair and very remote. The staff will take you on a golf cart around the gated community. Taxi rides within the property are only supposed to be three dollars. Do not allow the cab drivers to rip you off. They are invariably predatory and have no qualms charging you triple.
There is no concierge or staff available on the property after 11pm. They also never pick up the phone during the day. The wifi isn't great but satisfactory for the area.
Now for the bad part. I went to the lobby to check out. They have a peculiar method of checking guests out, by sending a staff member to your room to make sure you haven't broken or stolen anything before they release your deposit. I don't have an issue with this method, however, this process is very time consuming. I patiently waited for them to check the room, as I needed to be on my way to the airport. One of the staff members told me that a single bath towel was missing from the room and that I owed them money to replace it. (Oldest trick in the book). I immediately knew they were just trying to pull a scam. I am fastidious about leaving rooms clean and in tact; just the way I found them. In all my years of travel, I have NEVER misplaced, stolen or removed a towel or any items for that matter. I explained to the staff member that under absolutely no circumstances was I going to pay them a single dime for their fictitious "missing towel". The imposing male staff member continued to argue with me, following me around the property hassling me about the towel. I was so upset by this point, I opened my suitcases in the middle of the lobby to show them I had not pilfered their cheap towels (something I surmise they were already aware of anyway). By this time, I was close to missing my flight. They had given up their tenacious pursuit when they realized I wasn't going to be fall for their scam. But was nearly in tears when I left.
In conclusion, it's obvious this property is desperate, broke and grasping for revenue. There are many other options. I will be back in Punta Cana in a couple months, but I will avoid this empty hole like the plague. Heed my advice and stay away from this one if you want your sanity in tact.
