How to Get There
We haven't been to Punta Cana in many years. The changes for the positive from the airport to the resort were outstanding.
The Now Larimar Resort had wonderful staff from housekeeping with Alina to the restaurant staff. They all made us feel special. We particularly like the Italian Restaurant in the Garden area. Our welcome at the Garden Reception was highlighted by smiling faces such as from Yulie, and the young men at the desk who inflated our water tubes. The walkout garden pool area was perfect for us.Thanks again for the extra help.
The restaurant at Capers/Windows with Cristian, first of all in the evenings and breakfast, made a special effort and acts of kindness to make us feel special. Cristian made sure we had an dinner to remember the night before we left. Kaury was also a joy at breakfast on the last morning.
The great, the good, and the not so great:
The great: service staff, entertainment, the beach, all restaurants except for Chinese, layout of the resort
The good: the buffet, house wine was very decent
The not so great: lack of fresh seafood, Chinese restaurant (Pad Thai was with some white sauce, not tamarind), mixed drinks at the beach/pool were not good at all.
My husband and I along with another couple stayed at Now Larimar July 6-13th. It was our first trip to the Dominican Republic. We had a wonderful time here, felt safe and had no issues at all. The resort grounds are beautiful.
We were not preferred and were fine with that. The food at all of the restaurants we ate at was very good. I did not like how out of four restaurants, only two were open each night. There were two located in the same building and one restaurant was open and the other one had a signed that said closed due to a maintenance issue. The next night the sign was moved to the other the side of the room and that restaurant was closed and the other one was open. This was the same for the French and Spice. Only one was open each night. Make your reservations for Spice when you arrive in order to be able to get in that week. There is an Italian restaurant also that is located a ways off in the Now Garden area. They run golf carts all evening taking you back and forth to it.
We ate at the buffet restaurant for breakfast each day and always found lots to eat. We also ate there for dinner a couple of nights and they have a huge selection of food and desserts to choose from. A big shout out to our waiters there--Juan F, Fernando, Modesto and Heldin. Thank you so much for taking care of us. We hope to be back and see you again someday.
Overall, we had a great vacation and would definitely stay at this resort again.
Had an amazing 2 weeks with my 2 teenage sons.
This is a large resort with a mix of nationalities, predominantly Americans, Spanish and Hispanics.
This was spacious and kept very clean. The air conditioning was powerful and quiet. The bathroom was very large with separate spa bath and huge shower. Mini bar was included in the all inclusive and if you were In your room when they were filling it up, they would ask you what you wanted. The coke etc was all branded. WiFi was included and was excellent in the rooms.
We stayed round the main, very large pool which was very clean and with good drinks service to your sunbed. There were lots of beds and towels were provided but if you wanted an umbrella, you needed to be there by 8am. WiFi was a bit weak in this area. There were people offering water sports and trips but we were never hassled. The swim up bar was fun and were was aqua aerobics and water polo at various times.
Seaweed is a massive problem in the Caribbean but the beech by the hotel was constantly being cleared and I only realised how bad it was when going up the beech where some hotels hadn’t cleared it. The sand was white and powdery and there were lots of sun beds and umbrellas always free. Some water sports were included which were fun and it was simple to book trips and further water activities.
Food & drink
We tried all the restaurants and snack bars and couldn’t really fault any of them. There was often a couple of the al a cart restaurants closed each night which was on the daily newsletter which helped with planning where we ate. All the food was good and drinks were plentiful and strong! Loved the coffee shop which we failed to notice until the 2 nd week but used to the full after that. There was a good waitress drinks service around the main plaza during the entertainment.
This had a lot of equipment crammed in and could have been with being a bit bigger. There was a range of equipment which was adequate for us. Early mornings were busy but it was steady the rest of the time. The air conditioning needed to be much stronger (we are English and used to the cold).
There was a show on every night which was generally excellent plus a huge range of pool and beach activities which we were encouraged to join in and were fun. The team were energetic and seemed to enjoy their jobs and I should especially mention Red bull for the fun and friendship he showed to my boys (Mr Green and Mr Karaoke)
We would love to return and would recommend this hotel as great value for money.

My wife and have been to Now Resorts in Cancun Mexico
This is our fifth time in Punta Cana
But first time at Now Larimar and all we can say is that like other Now Resorts at Cancun ...this one is beyond our expectations from the minute we walked in
We were welcomed.
We stayed at 6116 Swim out suite
We made a great choice since this part of the Resort was very quiet our room was kept very clean every day,mini bar full
We had 24 hour room service but used only once the menu didn’t have much to pick from...!
The food at restaurants was delicious
Specially the french restaurant
The drinks at all the bars were great!
The pools were clean
the beach was kept clean all day
Workers picked up the seaweed
Every one working at this Resort is friendly and polite.
All I can say is thank you for making
Our stay and our Wedding Anniversary one of the best we ever had.
We really recommend this Resort!
