How to Get There
Stayed in July 2017 (only just realised I never left review)
This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Me and my partner were greeted after a long journey there to staff waiting for us with champagne and took our bags straight to our room.
I was amazed by our room, it was big and modern and had the comfiest bed ever! The balcony overlooked a quiet area of the pool which was nice. I'd recommend staying on the higher floors as we seen a lot of peacocks sleeping on peoples balconies and on their terraces below. We met some friends over there who said paying for the swim up suites wasn't worth the money! We enjoyed eating and drinking on our balcony without having to worry about bugs etc.
I absolutely loved that 24 hour room service was available as on our first night we were really tired so ordered some pizza, hot dogs and extra beers to come to the room and the service was really quick which was excellent. We also used room service on some mornings when we fancied a lie-in.
The food was absolutely amazing! The buffet had a really good variety and was always well stocked. I loved the snack bar on the beach- the burgers were lovely! The stonebaked pizzas in the restaurant on the beach were also lovely! Our favourite restaurants were the Italian and Teppanyaki! We never had a bad meal in any of the restaurants over the 2 weeks. The drinks were lovely and there was a huge variety of cocktails included!
The staff made the holiday even more amazing! They were always smiling and went out of their way to make you laugh and make sure you were enjoying yourself. The staff walking around the pool and beach always made sure you had a drink so we hardly ever had to go to the pool bar unless we were swimming.
The beach was gorgeous! There was quite a lot of seaweed though but that can't be helped so didn't bother us! The pool was the most amazing pool I've ever seen!
The hotel itself was gorgeous- its not the most modern hotel i've ever seen but it has character and the grounds with flamingos, parrots and peacocks makes it feel really tropical!
The MUST DO trips are Saona Island and Coco Bongos! Saona Island was an amazing boat trip where we stopped off to snorkel and got to hold starfish! Then went to the island for BBQ food and drinks and spent a few hours there, then on the way back there was music, dancing & lots of rum! The Coco Bongos night was fantastic- only downside is you don't get picked up from the hotel until about 10.30pm and it goes on until quite late.
The only downside was the entertainment in the evening! It was a bit cheesy and repetitive but good for kids. We entertained ourselves by the pool bar and used the casino which was really fun! The nightclub was good but we never stayed there too long as they only really played Spanish music. The beach foam party on a saturday night was excellent!
We paid for a couples massage in the Spa which was fab! Well worth the money and we got to spend the day in the spa pool etc which was nice.
Overall, it's the best hotel I've ever been to and will definitely return at some point!
Definitely wouldn't think twice about booking, i looked around at other hotels for a few weeks before booking and i'm so glad i picked this one!
Have an amazing time
Dreams resort was one to remember, everything about it was 10/10. I would like to specially thank Chocolate, one of the entertainers who personally would remember your name and make you feel so welcome. He was funny, kind and a hard worker. I would defo recommend and come back.
We took our family to the Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa over sprig break this year. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the servers and workers were so polite and accomodating. The restaurants were fantastic. There were 13 people in our group and most nights we were able to be seated together without reservations. I especially liked having the Preferred Club perk. This included a special lounge where you could get food, drinks, and towels. It was air-conditioned, so gave us a little break from the beach or pool. I especially enjoyed talking to Meiry. She was so helpful and friendly. We also were able to talk with Alexis Jaquez, the resident manager. We were so impressed with him and the time he took with us...Thank you Alexis! Your resort is certainly well-run!
I took my family to the Dreams Punta Cana for Spring Break this year. Our experience generally matched the reviews already provided. The grounds are beautifully landscaped; the beaches are clean and the water is turquoise. The pool that runs through the property is a signature feature.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had an issue in both bathrooms with water (condensation) dripping down from the ceiling and onto the counters. Maintenance was quick to address this by drying out the panels above but it was an unpleasant surprise. The resort needs to address the issue of the pipes and A/C dripping as I am sure this is an ongoing issue.
As others have noted, it is worth the money to upgrade to preferred status. As others have also noted, avoid speaking with vendors. We were annoyed that after check in, rather than being directed to our rooms we were given a sales pitch that included signing papers, asking for drivers licenses and asking about credit cards. We were asked to "register" and then invited to take a tour of property under development the next morning. We declined.
I am a tennis player and there are two courts at Dreams Punta Cana. The nets, fencing and landscapes are nice and the tennis pro was a good player. However, be aware that the court is a "river sand" surface that generates uneven bounces and an unstable footing. I am not saying that is bad, but it is not a surface familiar to us. It is a dry equivalent to the green Har Tru we have in the South.
Dreams was a perfect fit for our trip! It is a smaller resort than others we’ve been to, making it easier to keep track of the 10 teens in our group. The pool was so great, tons of room to float around, floaties were a nice touch, great set up with proximity to all buildings. Entertainment was especially good, this resort has some extremely talented performers. Many activities going on all day. The beach was very nice, sea weed was cleaned up every morning, it was not a big deal. Water is blue but somewhat rough since this is the Antlantic side of the island. The resort was very clean and well groomed, grounds are beautiful! I thought the food was very good, a few in our group thought average. The staff was awesome - very polite, outgoing, and fun. We especially enjoyed Victor and Starlin in the Core Zone sports area. We visited with Victor several times, he taught us Spanish and a little about the Dominican culture. Super guy that we won’t forget! We did not encounter sales pressure for time share, nor vendors around the pool as some others reported on TA. Just vendors 2 evenings, but a simple no thank you was all it took. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars are the rooms - very outdated. Not just style but things in bad shape. But after a day or two it didn’t bother me, everything else was so great and we spent little time in our room. This resort was not as grand and others we’ve visited but the small scale, staff, service and overall set up was better for our group. So glad we went to Dreams, it was hard to leave!
