Good hotel with lovely beach
weatherheads

Stayed for a week in November. All generally good with a great beach and numerous very clean pools. Had to change rooms a couple of times because of musty damp smells but Leonel in Preferred was very professional and dealt with our issues. Rooms are dated but the one we settled in was clean, quiet and a comfortable bed. Food was good but not exceptional though not having to book a table is great and only waited once for a table. Turtles in the sea which was a real bonus. I would recommend preferred, service on the beach was great as are the lounges and separate pools - means you can get away from the main pool which tends to become an area for loud guests who have drunk too much in the afternoon. The grounds are stunning which makes up for the rooms. Staff pretty good although those in the buffet could smile more! One word of warning, when you arrive you are invited to a welcome breakfast which turns out to be a timeshare sell so we got out quick - it's not what you want at the beginning of your holiday and gives a bad impression. Just say No straight away ( you may have to say a few times!).
Good rest and relaxation for a week

Awesome Time At An Awesome Resort
Dave_Anne2013

My wife and I just returned from a week stay at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana, arriving on October 31 and departing on November 7, 2019. We booked a Preferred Club Oceanview Jacuzzi Honeymoon suite and let me say the room with its wonderful ocean front view and wide range of amenities was absolutely incredible. Already we are speaking of a return visit and without any doubt this will be the same room category we will book. This room was huge with a separate sitting room and complete dining room table, another room with a king bed, night tables and TV, and complete bath with jacuzzi, huge shower, double sink and vanity, and separate water closet. We can’ t begin to say in words how wonderful it was.
A good choice at this resort is the Preferred Club upgrade as it gives a wide range of extras for not a lot of extra cost. Certainly we would recommend this option to anyone booking at this resort. Our room category provided us with the exclusive services of a butler which certainly was a nice touch. Our butler, Wilson, was exceptional in his eye for detail and level of service provided. He made it a point to seek us out several times daily to see how we were doing and what he might do to make our stay even better. The breakfast in bed and the final in room romantic meal he arranged for us was incredible and left us with fond memories that will last a long time. We are deeply impressed by Wilson and certainly he is a great ambassador for this resort. He is certainly a five star employee!
On the Preferred Club side there are two pools, one adults only and the other more of a family oriented one. Both are great and the pool service for drinks and fresh towels is prompt. We remain frustrated by the free for all party atmosphere at the adults only pool with loud and obnoxious behaviour of some of the guests coupled with foul and obscene language and also loud playing personal music devices. When all is said, this is a family oriented resort and such behaviour on the part of some is totally inappropriate and unwelcome. Certainly we feel management needs to post signs of what in unacceptable in this pool area and remove patrons not willing to comply. It was such a shame to see such a beautiful and serene atmosphere be reduced to a level far below what is billed as a five star resort. We did complain about this along with many others, but nothing was done about it.
We ate at most of the restaurants at the resort and were impressed at the menu items, the timely manner in which our food was prepared and the excellence and professionalism of the staff. It seems the workers all over this resort truly love their jobs and will go out of their way to make you feel happy and welcome. Our maid, Rosanna, did a wonderful job in preparing our room each day and her towel creations and flowers were most appreciated.
For those that wanted, there was evening entertainment every night however we tended to stay away from that and enjoyed the ambiance of the resort at night and the soothing sound of the ocean from our room’s ocean facing balcony. There was a variety of late night treats at the Preferred Club lounges and some great drinks to enjoy at the end of the day.
All things considered this is a high class resort with good people working there. We were saddened when our departure day arrived but look forward to the prospect of returning one day for another stay. Hopefully at that point, management will have put measures in place to address what many were calling “the out of control attitude and behaviour” around the adults only Preferred Club pool.

Staff fantastic and very friendly but a special mention to Alex the Bell Boy who had the biggest smile on his face despite working incredibly long hours and days! The staff in the Asian restaurant were also 5*! We did have a few problems with our room but once we went to the concierge they sorted us out very quickly and we had the most amazing room for the second half of the holiday. The a la Cart restaurants were fantastic as was the buffet and other eating areas. The only criticism was the pool bar, to get a good service you have to tip!
The only negative about the holiday was at the weekend people can pay to come in for the day and use the pool! The pools were mobbed and over crowded and everyone we spoke too also said this was a negative part of the holiday!
