How to Get There
Resort is very good. Nice and clean. Food restaurants and buffet is very good. Beach is clean and nice. Activities are great. Overall me and my wife liked it bery much. Definetly return next year. Enjoyed it very mich
The overall week was great. The rooms are going to need some attention soon but are quite adequate. The food was great, there was hardly any wait time and no reservations needed. The beach has some seaweed rolling in but they try to keep it cleaned up in front of the resort. Thus being said, the resort is somewhat secluded and to walk the beach beyond wasn't a great experience. The staff everywhere were very helpful, polite and efficient. The entertainment was great,apx.,1/2 hour shows. I would definitely go back to the resort.
The beach area was perfect, with amazing views and good music from the beach bar.
Also we've enjoyed food almost everywhere, especially at Asian restaurant.
It's perfect hotel zone for romantic weekend as you can find there so many cozy and lovely places for photo. And of course we loved our hammock at the balcony.
The cleaning at the room could be better, especially at bath and maybe breakfast is not their cup of tea.
My Fiance and I spent a full week at Catalonia Royal Bavaro. We went purely for the leisure and not even for a single moment were we disappointed. Every all inclusive resort has its perks and amenities, but the employees are what seperate Catalonia Royal Bavaro from the other resorts. We built relationships with fantastic people in just the week we stayed at this resort. Oliver and Francisco of the entertainment team are the epitome of what it means to host fun events. Servers like Luis, Andy, and David were so humble, yet made you feel right at home. If you are considering staying at this resort for the all inclusive purpose and you also want to have a scenic view every direction you look, then this is the place for you.
I cannot give this resort and hotel enough praise.
No place is perfect. If I could change one thing, it would be to increase the number of menu items at each restaurant.
Thank you Catalonia to you and all of your Royal Bavaro staff for the best in class experience!
We do enjoy this resort. This is the 5th time at Catalonia 2X on family side and 3X at Royale.
We flew Sunwing -our flight was supposed to leave at 0915 on 29 Feb,got delayed until 1545 again delayed and left at 2145[this was partially because of snowstorm in Toronto]but there was a later flight on the same day and it left before us! We ended up getting to our hotel at 0500 on 30 Feb so we last 1 day of our holiday.
We booked the suite with a pool which was very nice but this was a renovation that they had done since we were last there and we thought we had booked a 2 level villa-be careful when booking.
We had room 4004 with the outlook facing the front of the resort-rooms 4001-4006 face the front of resort and rest face the family side.
The food was always great-esp tapas and asian and Thalasa for buffet breakfast and Sea Blue for a la carte .
We found the the pizza restaurant was great for lunch-the salads were great.
We did go to family side for buffet and it was just ok. we were disappointed in the Creppes which is on the beach now-it was in the small plaza between the resorts and was great-now blah.
Thalasa is a la carte every night but Mon when it is Dominican Buffet[ok but not great]
The wine is good on Royale side as well as most mixed drinks.
We enjoyed the evening entertainment around the pool which was a nice feature since we last visited.
All in all good holiday-would I return? maybe in a couple of years
