How to Get There
This was by far the best experience we've had at a holiday hotel. Absolutely amazing! What made the holiday for us was the customer support and the positive and welcoming attitudes of all of the staff.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. Reception were very welcoming a patient with us after a long haul flight, all the domestic staff were incredible helpful with us, and the bar and restaurant staff were all smiles and joy - just like an advert. Every morning we were greeted with a warm smile from Dominica and her colleagues. Waiters such as Luis and Rikard went out of their way to ensure that we had everything that we wanted, nothing was every too much trouble or effort - the waiters went searching for my wife's favourite breakfast coffee, and found it!
The staff are this hotel's main asset. I've stayed in better rooms, don't get me wrong this room was good, and had better views from my balcony; but everywhere we went, and everything we did, we were made to feel really special. The customer care in this hotel is amazing. One day I lost my smart watch (my own fault, I was too relaxed). However when I went to reception later in the day the staff there made the necessary phone calls and an hour later my watch was returned to me. Amazing!
Whilst we were there it was my wife's birthday, and with the help of customer services I was able to give her a cake, flowers and a petal strewn room! She loved it so much. Thank you Yina and her staff.
If customer services and attention to customer needs is the main selling point of this hotel, then the food is a very close second. Having been on al inclusive holidays before I have a tendency to "trough" on buffets, and very quickly get fed up with the food. If you want standard buffets ( i.e. volume) you can use the facilities in the adjacent partner hotel. However all restaurants in the Royal are "A la Carte", and there is a choice of 4 restaurants on "The Royal" side (as well of those in the adjacent hotel). We ate at all of the restaurants on "The Royal" side, and I can honestly say that every meal was amazing, and in the two weeks of our vacation I never repeated a meal once, they were all so good. And I never ate chicken for two weeks!
Some lunchtimes they would cook on the beach, barbeques. paellas etc, these too were cooked well and were high in quality of taste. However the hotel recruits and trains its chefs is very effective.
Drinks are international, and whilst the bar staff couldn't make me a "Rusty Nail", any other cocktail I asked for, even those not on their menu, they could make, and make well.
The grounds were clean and maintained well. I did feel sorry however for the ground staff who attempted, more or less successfully, to clear up the sea weed that has plagued the Caribbean this year. However the beach was kept clean, and bar staff were very attentive on the beach.
Although we did go out of the hotel on trips we had booked at home, we would have been very happy to spend the entire two weeks in the hotel complex. My only complaint that makes our experience only "almost paradise" was a very sly and hard attempt to upsell the experience by a member of the exclusive club. That was avoided however, and everything else was perfect. We want to come back, and before this summer we always operated on the policy of never going to the same place twice. The best travel experience I've ever had. The hotel is amazing the food is excelente. The service is great and the site of the hotel is very calm without many people walking on the beach. I do recommend the hotel to everyone. Best cost-benefit!
We recently took a group of 17 to Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana and stayed in the Diamond Club. Our meals included all restaurants, except the Rio Rodizio and Gourmet Marche’, and the staff, food and atmosphere were of the highest quality.
The VIBE team was dynamic in keeping our every hour until 11PM exciting and engaging, especially Darling.
We would especially like to recognize the four people who made our stay at the Royalton Bavaro an exceptional experience: Wolfan Lopez and Jaun who were our Butlers, Maria Cabrera our group coordinator, and Claribel Penae who is an exceptional Diamond Club Manager. They are elite hospitality professionals. We would also like to mention Washington and Jose, were exceptional in our daily visits to the Oceanside Restaurant. There was one host at several restaurants – Marianela was joyous.
In regards to our Spa experience, we were fortunate to have two of the best massage therapist we could ever experience: Genderson and Awilda.
The exercise area was adequate but so uncomfortably hot, where we were only received by one rude person in Carlos, who manages the Cilgruppo dicitale. He managed to bring two of our children to tears. We spent $400-$500 there in spite of it being necessary to report Carlos, who continued to be unpleasant and abrupt.
They have an excellent “Slow Rider” surfing area and a jointly shared, excellent, water park.
This is a large resort of 700 plus rooms with +/- 140 Diamond Club rooms. We highly recommend the Diamond Club because of its many benefits and privileges which include a private pool and beach area as well as two private bars and restaurants and not forgetting the butlers who epitomize excellence.
We may considered one of the Chairman’s Rooms. Although, our Diamond Rooms were quite nice with constant restocking of supplies and twice a day cleanings.
We will go back but avoid the $21.00 picture and the “wrath of Carlos”.
