How to Get There
Our room was spacious and clean. The food at all the restaurants was excellent although some not open every evening.
The staff was helpful, especially Yinna Divison, Assistant Manager, as well as Rosa Rodriguez, Manager. Special thanks to Emanuel Mendez who managed to order a wonderful meal for us at Sea Blue restaurant. Thank you to the breakfast chef, Jose and all the waiters for their smiling attention.
Paid extra for "privileged" status, but besides a centrally located room, we really didn't see any other benefits. It wasn't much extra, but it still didn't seem worth it. In fact, the room, though big, had a lot of broken things in it (light switches, bathroom door, outlets. Not bad enough to complain, so we didn't, but still worth noting.
We made friends with several guests who didn't have privileged status and they drank the same drinks as us and went to the same restaurants. It seemed the only upgradeable drinks were for time share owners.
We were on the "royal" side of the resort, which was adults only. Nice not to have kids in the pool, but it was also boring. Barely any activities on that side, especially at the pool.
There's an open air pizza place by the pool (really just a pavilion with tables). You could get pizza in the afternoons, but they made you sit at a table and cover up. You couldn't get any food at all sitting in a lounge chair by the pool. Not a deal breaker, but annoying nonetheless.
The booze at every bar was very limited and medium shelf at best (except for time share owners, but even their selection was only 5-6 more bottles).
On the plus side, the food was excellent at all the restaurants on the royal side. We only ate at the other side once, at the steakhouse, and it was average, with horrible service (they were just too busy to give you any attention).
We did meet some awesome bartenders/severs who deserve a shout out. Thanks for taking great care of us Miladis, Carlos, Flor, Edward, Santa, and Daniel!
In summary, we've stayed at better all-inclusive resorts for the same price, so we probably won't be back to this one. It was still a great vacation, but there are better options out there.
My sister and I stayed here to celebrate my 50th birthday. The resort was absolutely beautiful! The staff was attentive, friendly and courteous and did everything in their power to ensure we had the perfect vacation. They even surprised us with champagne, balloons and a cake in the day of my birthday. Our room was spacious and beautiful as well. My sister and I are extremely picky eaters so we were a little nervous before our arrival. No need for that though as all the different dining choices ensured something for everyone. We especially liked Rodeo Steak House on the family side where we had literally the best meal of our life. Our stay here was amazing and I cannot say enough good things about it!
We had an amazing time. We upgraded our room when we got there to a suit that had a pool attached. This was worth the extra money and where we spent a lot of our time. Everything thing was a short walk a way from our room. We had access to both sides of the resort but tended to stay on our side other then to eat. That staff was fantastic and very helpful and friendly. The only negative is the ocean had a lot of seaweed and rocks.
This was our first visit to the Dominican Republic and we stayed for 14 nights on a fully inclusive basis. The hotel is in Punta Cana but in a quiet area. We could use the neighbouring sister family hotel facilities but much preferred our side!
We had a couple of minor issues with our room on arrival which were promptly addressed and the service was fantastic throughout our stay with some members of staff being exceptionally helpful and going the extra mile looking after us extremely well. We couldn’t fault it.
There are several restaurants offering different cuisines from basic burgers and pizza etc to sushi and a la carte on the beach (extra £) which we tried. Special thanks to Obispo and George Jean Jean who couldn’t do enough for us! Also Emmanuel who oversaw the restaurants and was keen to maintain the high standards.
We quite often opted for the main restaurant as we enjoyed the live musicians in the evening. The restaurants were immaculate, as were all areas of the hotel, grounds, pools and beach which were constantly being maintained to a very high standard.
We really enjoyed the variety of daily fitness classes which were well run by the animation team. Special thanks go to Oliver, Moises and Franciso who were fantastic. They looked after us so well and worked very hard to ensure that everyone was happy with the entertainment.
We hope to be back soon and would happily recommend.
